Kenny Xu's "An Inconvenient Minority" cuts against the grain of the current Asian American literary vogue of Ivy League MFA writing. Instead of inner emotional turmoil and racial confusion, Kenny's writing cuts to the heart of Asian American material interests. In particular, a fair shake at a top-flight education, long seen by many Asian Americans as the key to American life.
Kenny joins Eliza and Teen (at the 30:00 mark) to talk about his book, and how the liberal progressive agenda does not serve the majority of Asian Americans or represent their preferences. Of course, this wouldn't be an Escape From Plan A episode without digging into differences in thinking and opinion. But overall there is much to "An Inconvenient Minority" that simply is missing altogether in the race writing of the Bluecheck literary establishment.
