I'm your host, Kim Peretz. Let's kickstart our week together with intention, inspiration, and empowerment. This is The Morning Ritual.
Good morning, my friends, and welcome back to the pod. This morning, we are talking about the concept of the ego versus the soul and how to embrace our egos and connect more to our higher self. So just to explain to you guys a little bit about what an ego is. So we all have it. And our ego is basically a false mask. It's not who we truly are. And it's
it's all about basically protecting us. Our ego exists to interrupt our intuition and protects us and keeps us safe. So the thing that you need to realize about the ego is it's not inherently negative. We all have it. But when we feed too much of our energy or power into it, it can become negative. It can become self-righteous. It can have a superiority trap. And the thing is, we all have egos. Like they never go away. And that's why it's so important to keep our ego in check.
especially if you're someone on a spiritual journey, I see that a lot of people, including a past version of myself and including moments in my life too, just to be vulnerable and real and not put myself or anyone else on a pedestal and say that we all kind of have sometimes a spiritual ego where we think, oh, because we do yoga or we meditate or we...
only buy from thrift shop or you're a vegan or whatever it is, like you're better, you're more spiritually aligned than somebody else. So it's really important to keep that ego in check and remember that everyone is on their own path and their own journey and it is not our place to judge other people. We can only really take care of our thoughts and our vibration. So you're probably wondering how can you step more out of the ego and more into the soul?
So I've comprised the list of some qualities of the ego versus the higher self that I want to share with you guys. So the ego is often feels like a victim of their circumstance. And
The ego tries to control every situation. The ego is often stifled by fear and worry of the past or the future. The ego can be often in competition with others and the world around them. The ego can seek a lot of comparison and judgment. The ego seeks to serve itself. It often also seeks for outwards approval or recognition. And a lot of the time it has a lack or fearful mentality.
Now the higher self seeks to serve others. It is all about acceptance and self-love. It is often drawn to more love. It sees life as a gift and an opportunity for growth. It embodies the mindset of abundance. It trusts that
everything is unfolding as it should be at the right place at the right time and for the right reasons and it is present and open to infinite possibilities. So those are kind of the big differences when you look at your thoughts or you look at your current emotions, you can kind of distinct, okay, is it my ego talking or my higher self? So for today's morning ritual, I want to offer you guys a challenge that you can take on for the rest of your day for letting go of the ego and becoming conscious of your ego.
So I want you to notice moments where you're seeking external validation and during those moments how can you let go a little more and seek your own approval instead.
I want you to also notice moments where you're letting your achievements define you and how can you take those moments as opportunity to cultivate more self-acceptance regardless of your accomplishments. I also want you to notice moments where you feel more materialistic or attached to certain things in your life and how can you use those moments as opportunities to be more present in your abundance right now.
And all of these ways are just challenges for yourself to really become aware of the ego because the ego is always creeping in. But the way that we override the ego is we realize that we don't always have to give it our power. We can become an observer of the ego and allow our soul and our spirit to lead the way. So here are some ways, a list that I've compiled for you, ways that you can start embracing your ego today. So...
ask yourself what has my ego been feeding on where has my ego been having a party in my head so what are parts of yourself where your ego is like really judging yourself or you've been thinking a lot of negative thoughts about that's how kind of you can identify where the ego is throwing a party the big
thing about the ego that you're going to have to take responsibility for is you're going to have to step away from the victim mentality and take emotional responsibility for your life and for your emotional state. Because when your emotions come up,
up, you can either embrace them and become their observer or you can allow them to control you and how you feel about yourself and your life. So the big thing about the ego that you need to realize is that the ego makes everything all about itself. You know, that's why it's called the ego and that's why when somebody is being selfish, we say they have a big ego because the ego just tries to make everything about itself and that puts us in that victim mentality and out of the creatrix.
So the way you step out of the ego and into the soul is you realize that everything that you're experiencing, everyone that's in your life, everything that you're going through right now is a direct reflection of something inside of you, of something that you may be feeling, of something in your vibration. And that allows you to take back the responsibility of your life instead of constantly blaming everyone.
My biggest tip for you that I want to share with you is that you'll know that it's your ego when you're constantly resisting and bickering with your life or your current experience. And you'll know that you finally connected to your soul and your heart when you choose the path of least resistance. So I really encourage you today, choose the path of least resistance.
find peace from within and allow that to be a reflection of your outer world. Because your ego will create a full-time job managing the perception of others while your soul is already at peace with being misunderstood. So I want to leave this morning ritual with one of my favorite quotes ever, which says, the ego says, once everything falls into place, I'll feel at peace.
but the spirit says, find peace and everything will fall into place. Until next Monday, keep your vibrations high and remember, every day is your opportunity to make a stepping stone into your dream reality.
