Shownotes Transcript

Welcome to season two of Me! This is so fun because I feel like we know almost everyone in the crowd, so I feel like we're presenting to our friends and family. Presenting? Well...

No, I like that. Perform it? Present it? I was like, Jordan, I feel like I'm going to throw up, but she's like, it's perfect because the best news is we're going to get up there and pretend like it's just you and I on stage. And then you were like, we're presenting to all of our friends and family. And I'm like, which one is it? Am I talking to you or them? Oh yeah. I was sitting in the back on the freezer because I was sweating and hyperventilating. Are you guys hot or are we the only ones that are hot?

Sam. Okay, we're like on fire. I also brought my Kleenex because every time Jordan and I have a monumental event in our life, I either have food poisoning or I'm sniffling. No, literally we've...

in front of like two, or we had two people on. And the first time you were like, I am so sick. I have food poisoning. Can't come. And I was like, wait, but you showed up. Second time, you also were like, I have food poisoning. I was like, Alex. You're like, I'll show up. Third time I showed up with food poisoning and then we got not renewed at Barstool that day. And that's why we're here. And we didn't judge the OnlyFans concert.

That was actually that day I had the saltines and the Sprite. Wait, that was a really good segue. You're welcome. You're getting better. I'm proud of you. That was a little segue. Okay, so we're going to do four shows in a row. Yes. And we're going to put them, we're going to do them live. And then we're going to take them and put them out on podcasts everywhere. So if you're listening to this right now, we're not in the studio. We are at our first live show. At House of Wow. House of Wow. Tribeca. I don't even know where we are. Tribeca. That's what I heard Sam say Tribeca was. Tribeca. Tribeca. Tribeca.

And then we're going to put it out like a real episode. And then we're going to do it again every day this week. I know. And a different storyline for each night of the week. And tonight's is... Why we left Barstool Sports. And the comments say, you didn't have a choice. You didn't get renewed. Okay. Well, you know what clickbait is? Clickbait.

Well, we know what clickbait is. So we're going to talk about that. But first, let's talk about like, because we haven't done an episode together. We haven't really, we talk a lot, but we haven't recorded. And so I like you went to Italy. The people don't know what you've been up to or what I've been up to. So let's give them a little briefing. Wait, can we just talk about what happened the other day? Yes. What was it? It was our two year anniversary from the moment we met. I didn't know that. I

I know you didn't. So I started Barstow October.

2021. October 4th was five days ago. And you were the first person to come up to me at Barstool and say hi. Yeah. I remember, first of all, I didn't know the show started at 7.30. Like that's how into like numbers and dates I am. I thought it started at 7.00. And you were like, let's not tell 7.30. And I was like, that's awesome. That's going to be so exciting to sit here for another 30 minutes. She's like, why is no one here? I'm like, because it doesn't start for like another hour. I was like, cool. Well, tell me when we go. But I

remember walking into Barstool for the first time, seeing you standing up at the front desk and you had jeans on and those colorful Nikes and a white shirt. They were white Nikes with a colorful swoosh on them. And you had a white shirt and a purple jacket over it. And your hair was similar to this. And you turned around. And I was like, hi! What, you...

That is exactly what I had on. No, I know. Yeah. You had a like, okay, so you went through this phase where you're wearing like really sick sweatsuits, like matching top bottoms with your Nikes and you had a green one on. Yep. And your green Nikes, I think. I don't know if it was like a green kith or green and white clouds. Yeah. And then, and then the shoes would match. It'd be monochromatic. And I walked in and I said, hi. No, it was like, hi, I'm Alex Bennett. Yeah.

My accent has since faded a bit. A bit. No? No. And I literally remember turning around. Well, so let's backtrack a little bit. Okay.

when I was interviewing for Barstool I knew who you were I thought it was so cool because you lived in a in a hotel for was it 40 days yeah 42 days because if you guys don't know Alex she doesn't always plan things through so she got the job moved to New York and she's like I don't have a place to live so I moved every week to a new hotel so I if anybody needs hotel Rex I know how they all are but I found you on TikTok on my for you page and I was like wait this this is sick like this girl started at Barstool she's living in a hotel which is crazy

I walk into my interview at Barstool and well, I was walking to the office and you walked past me on the street and you had Starbucks in your hand. And I literally was like, oh my God, that's,

That girl from TikTok that I just started following. And then you're the first girl that said hi to me. And the best part is Jordan and I, when we first met each other, we didn't really, we weren't too fond of each other because we're both from the Midwest. And so we thought each other was too nice. And so we were kind of like, I'm not so sure about her. Maybe she's being fake, but that wasn't happening. You know, I did not enjoy your company when I first met you. And then I joke that it's been downhill ever since. I know, because apparently we're not friends.

Okay, so we're going to get into all of that. But first, happy two-year anniversary. Happy two-year anniversary, honey. I will take you to dinner tomorrow. Or what? We'll be here. I'll get you a bag of chips before the show. Oh, is it after our show? Before our show? I'll bring you flowers. Okay, thank you. Thank you. And then it's been a year and a half, I think, of Mean Girl Pod. 85 episodes? Yeah. Is this 86? This is 86. Okay, happy 86. Happy season two, happy 86. Cheers. Cheers. Cheers. With our non-alcoholic beverages. Cheers.

We really... We have so much to talk to you guys about, but we want... This is a potential sponsor. So now that we sell those ourselves, we... We need the money. So sponsor the pod, please. At Gorgie. Okay. Okay, so backtrack. So we've been gone from Barstool for what? A month? Yep. Actually, yeah, a month and two days. Couldn't tell you, but great. A month and two days, unemployed. But the day we get not renewed, two days later, it's the most...

Not you thing in the planet. You go to Italy. Yes. Well, it was very me because I had a plan for like five months. Right. That's very you to know that you were going and it's planned and it's on the calendar and it's like color coordinated and we all know Jordan's off. Yep. But...

It didn't work in my favor of me going literally two days after we were let go. Not renewed. Yeah. Okay. So let's back. So do you want to, do you want to talk about like how summer's been or do you want to get right into that? I mean, I can tell you how September was. All right. How was September? It was great. I went to Italy. Italy was great. Like it was so fun because it was the first time in my life that I went on vacation without a job. So I had nothing to worry about. No. Besides.

Right. But you know, like when you go on job, like you go on vacation with jobs, like you're always like, I probably should check my email. Yes. I have all this, all this stuff I'm going to come back to. For me, I was like, I don't have a job or responsibilities. Right. Because my brain hadn't like flipped to the part where.

I need to work like, cause like I left so quickly after we got fired. Like if I would have left the week after I would have been a mess in Italy. I'd have been so stressed, but my brain hadn't like flipped to be like, Oh, you should probably start worrying about what's going on when you get home. It was honestly probably the perfect timing to go now really quickly. Cause you had never been to Italy. Like what was your take on it? Like people love Italy. They love the food, the wine. Yeah. So it was, it was so much fun. We went in the South, the Southern coast. So it's like a Malfi, Naples, Rome, Rome.

The wine was so cheap. It was like $4 a bottle, which was awesome. No hangover, something with the something. I don't get hungover ever. You don't in general. That's so true. But they always say the wine over there is better for you. And maybe it's the food you eat, but like the preservatives or something. I can have dairy in Italy. Have I told you that? Okay. You know what's funny? I can't. Oh, that's weird. Yeah. Isn't that weird how that happens? You probably hated it, didn't you? So I went there and I was like... You didn't like Italy at all. I hated Italy. She's like, I'm an America girl. Yeah.

It was actually so bad. She, okay. She actually didn't like, I was like, how was it? She's like, listen, it was fine. But I was like, I was like, it was fun, but I'm not going to go back. She's like, you really didn't like it. Explain that. Like most people are like, I loved it. I want to live over there. And you were like, listen, it just wasn't for me. I...

Be honest. I liked Italy. I just, I'm not somebody who can enjoy themselves sightseeing. Yeah, you really didn't. Put me in a restaurant where I can drink and eat food and buy a beach. My best day there was at a beach club. I had four bottles of wine and I was the happiest I've ever been in my entire life. Yeah, you're actually a very laid back traveler. Yeah. Like you just really need to be, like you love Miami because good food, you go to the beach and like that's it. Yeah. Yeah.

But you don't need to go like explore the streets of Rome and like see the sites. No, no, I don't want to do that. It's good to know that you don't want to do that. Exactly. So back to the dairy thing though. So I was so excited because I'm lactose intolerant by like ice cream and soft cheeses. So I was like, oh, I'm going to get gelato every single day. Get gelato the first night.

Literally, I'm back at the hotel and I'm like, I went with my best friend, Madeline, and I was like, I'm so sick. I'm going to die. And then I had you out of the next next. I wanted to make sure. Same thing. It's really bold to check the third time. What? Well, you went three times just to see. Yeah, because the third time I had, I was three bottles deep in wine at the beach club. And then I was like, I'm done.

No. And then I spent $250 on a massage and I don't remember that part. Oh, without a job. Yeah. Without a job. That was interesting. I woke up the next day and I was like, Oh my God, what did I do? Did it, did it feel good? The thing about massages is it's not, you don't, you don't have an item the next day. No, this was the massage. Yeah. I'm not even kidding. Like it was just like that. So Italy just wasn't really your overall. Okay. Well, not an Italy girl.

But I'm going to go back and try it again. Try a different city. Yeah, yeah. Try like a Paris or I think I could see you in Croatia. That's more like laid back, I think. Or like Barcelona. You could just like enjoy the vibes. I'm going to go to Tuscany. That you would. Oh, yeah. You would love. We'll go to Napa first. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. What have you been up to? Oh, well, I moved. Yeah.

I just moved into a new apartment. Which I've yet to see. Yes. I have been there a week. I love the natural light. I love where I live. I'm trying to be safer, so I'm not trying to give away too many details as to where I live. But my parents did come and see it. I think you guys were like...

pleasantly surprised. I think you guys were like nice natural light. Good job, Alex. Um, you have, uh, one and a half bathrooms. Yes. Unheard of for New York. So I'm gonna, I could like live there with you. Yes. You could move in with me and I have a washer dryer. Like I love, I like love where I live. I like it more than my old apartment. So I'm very happy.

And other than that, what's new with me is so much, but that's for another time. I know. I feel like we can't talk about anything with your life right now because you're going to reveal each step throughout the next four days or three days. Right, right. So it's just like tonight is all about why we don't work at Barstool anymore. I know because we've kept...

A pretty tight lip. Yeah. Well, sometimes like the best things in life are just left unsaid. Yeah. Also, I think you and I knew we wanted to share with our listeners first before we like talked about it on any other platform. Well, and I would say like from a strategic standpoint, we almost went in and recorded the episode on the Barstool platform like before we left.

But I think one thing to say is like, it was a very amicable split. And so we were just like, we don't really need to do that. Let's take some time, really digest how we feel. And then we can share it when the time is right. Yeah. And then lo and behold, the time is right. Yeah. So I think to talk about why we left Barstool, we should talk about how we got to Barstool. Cause I feel like that's a part of our life. We never really talk about on the podcast, like what we did pre Barstool. So many people want to know about your life with, um,

Oklahoma doing the reality show and we recorded that episode, but it's still with Barstool. So it's like, might as well talk about it now. Okay. Let me ask you this really quickly because somebody asked the question and I love this, Mim read it to us. Like when you guys submitted questions before the show. Is this mine? That's yours. Yeah. Today's not the day to drink after me. So they said, do you, did you guys think you were going to be in social media or an internet personality when you were younger? And I don't know your answer to that.

Yeah. So my dream job when I was young was to be a news anchor on E! News. Okay. So it's so similar form, but they kind of tell you what to say. And then here we pick what we say. Yeah. Or like good morning, America. But I always wanted to be on camera. Okay. Yeah. What about you? I wanted to be a sportscaster. And then I interned at News 9 because I wanted to be some sort of like news reporter as well. Yeah. I really wanted to be...

like on camera but then in college I did the news show for them found out I'm dyslexic and I cannot read a teleprompter she can't you you can't you do a lot of things but no like the my teacher was or not my teacher the guy who was running the thing was like either you got to learn how to read or you can't do this anymore so I was like okay improv talk show that's my speed I

I don't know if anybody's ever noticed who does the ads. It's me because you read those. I literally can't read them. I'm dyslexic and no one believes me. Watch the questions tonight. We have them written down and Jordan's like, she's got to read them. I'm not reading them. No. So, yeah. But before Barstool did corporate insurance for four years, literally did that because that was an easy job to get out of high school, out of college. And then COVID happened.

No one was seeing anyone. So I was like, I'm, I've always wanted to do social media. And then, but during COVID, I was like, wait, I can actually do social media. No one's going to make fun of me. So I started on TikTok. My roommate one day walked in. She's like, are you on, are you posting videos on TikTok? And I was like,

I'm like, how, how are you seeing these? Like, and I mean, we all know how the algorithm works. If you have someone's phone number, you literally see their videos. Oh, so I started posting pop culture. You didn't know that, did you? Yeah. So if you ever give someone your phone number, you're going to pop up on your, you'll pop up on their for you page. Okay.

Um, but I started doing pop culture videos cause I love that. I want to do like e-news. Right, right. Yeah. You were the pop culture reporter. Yeah. So I was like my bread and butter. And I did that for, I think like a year and a half. Barstool had a talent search. I applied for it. But then during that process, I was already planning on moving to New York just cause I wanted to get out of Minnesota. I was doing a job, uh, or I was doing a digital media job. And when I interviewed with Barstool, um,

Gaz, who's like the manager, head of social media. Let's double click on that because we're going to refer to Gaz a couple of times. So he is like the number four, five. He was an early on guy there. Yeah. And now he's the head of content. That's Gaz. Yes. He hires a lot of people at Barstool. Yes. And he was like, hey, can you interview at Barstool? Or he's like, you're one of the top three people that won or is in the running for the talent search. Can you interview? And I was like,

This is so random. I'm actually living in New York right now. And he's like, okay, can you come to the office next week? So I came to the office. I like not to downgrade my talent of being a pop culture reporter, but I think that's why I got the job because I was the, out of the three, I was the only person who lived in New York. Oh, no, it was because you were the most talented of the three, but it probably didn't hurt. Thank you. Thank you. So I started, I won the talent search, got the job and I was their pop culture person for like,

November, December, January, four months. Four months. Yeah. And then you disrupted my life. And then I said, okay. So the way I got to Mars Duel, I got there two months before you. Yes. And I, during COVID, well, before COVID, I lived out in LA and I will, I just had like a traditional marketing job. Um, and I never thought about doing really social media. And then I dyed the bottom half of my hair blue and I was flying home to Oklahoma and

where my mom doesn't like colorful hair. And so I texted my dad when I was pulling up in the driveway. I said, dad, film me when I walk in and I see mom's face. Cause my brother, I'm like, he'll think this is really funny cause she can freak out. And so he like filmed me. I walked in and she's like, oh my God, like we should at least chop the bottom half of your hair off. And she's standing on like this dead zebra rug that like you guys had bought in an auction and the internet's like animal killers, Oklahoma hunters. And like, why is the mom being so mean? And it just like went viral.

So then I stayed home with my parents because I lived in LA, but I was home as COVID. And so I stayed home with them for another week.

And I made another video about, I just started making videos of you guys, but mainly my mom. And then in June, so I did that for two months on TikTok. And then I called it building my TikTok resume. Quit my marketing job. And I said, I'll give myself six months to find a job with social media or monetize it to where I made more than I was making at the corporate jobs. That was my goal. And two months in, Dave put out a tweet and was like,

Alex Cooper had just left. And so he was like, we need, you know, who's the next Alex? And I was like, well...

I mean, I have her name. So I made a pitch video and instead of call her daddy, I did a play on my mom and I did call your mommy. And I was like, I'm also Alex Long Blonde Hair. And then like a week later, Gaz responded, nothing but can you do an interview? And sent me like June 11th, 3 p.m. And I was like, yeah, yes. Sounds about right for Gaz. Like, no, like doesn't sign or anything. And then one thing led to another. Got there, got my mother a job with me. And then six months after that, we got...

gotten to we started Mean Girl. Yes and how did that start? So like I was saying I used to do pop culture at Barstool. I started a show called Blocked where I pretty much just like worked with all the people at Barstool was like tell me about famous people who blocked you and one day Alex was like oh I was blocked and it was by a social media influencer and I was like well I'm

I usually have like people come on and talk about like big names, but I was like, I need content that week. And I was like, you know, I don't really like you, but I'll have you on. The girl that blocked you, she's not that big. And then I hate you, but...

No, literally. I was like, fine, I'll have you on. I gotta have an episode, so come on. It was literally the universe like pulling us together. Yes. It was like, you need to figure out a way to get together. Reluctantly. So we did episode on Blocked and the girl that Alex spoke about happened to be close with Dave and his girlfriend. They were not happy because we spoke poorly on her. Yeah.

And Dave put out a little tweet. Well, he called and he said, hey. Oh, I forgot about that part. Yeah, he was like, hey. He texted me and he would text me sometimes about things, but it would be a joke most of the time. So he texted me and said, hey, take down the video.

And I was like, ha, ha, ha. And he's like, no, I'm serious. Take down the video. I actually remember you vividly telling me that. And I was like, no, no, this isn't happening. I've worked at Barstool for four months. This is not happening. So I called him and I was like, I'm not taking down the video. Are you joking? He's like, no, I'm dead serious. Come on, take down the video. And I was like, well, we can't though because...

it's Barstool and like we get to leave the video up and then he was like no like that video's gotta come down anyways at that time they had the Dave Portnoy show so we went on it and it was basically like we hadn't been there like we didn't have we shouldn't have been doing that at the time like we should have just taken down the video and walked silently but we didn't and then it got into it kind of erupted he was calling us the mean girls and so we had that episode with him and then from that

And that's that right there, though, is why Barstool is Barstool, because they can take something like that. And this is why Dave is so good at what he does. He takes that little spout we had. It turns in to a podcast and then we're the Mean Girls. And it's like, that's why the Internet is undefeated. So we just did. We took that and we started Mean Girl Pod. Well, what happened was we had to go on and do like a podcast.

like what's a video called like when like a response yeah like a response to dave and alex and i had never done any content together but i remember doing that video with you and you and i just like riffed off each other so perfectly we put that out and then gaz he called me because i don't know where you were but he was like you guys have this weird chemistry that we don't see very often you need to take advantage of that and make content together so i like texted alex and i was like gaz wants us to make content together at the time everyone's like let's start a podcast

That's another thing they're really good at too. Like from an operation standpoint of people that have chemistry, they'll pair you. And sometimes it's like three, four, five people. But there is such thing as I think people in a room and being like, oh, those two don't have chemistry. So I think they're so well-trained. They've been doing it so long when they see it, they're like, you don't even have to really be friends. But the way the cadence that you guys talk is like there was something there. So he said that and it was cool. Yeah. And then we were like, let's do Mean Girl because Dave called us Mean Girls. We can't do Mean Girls because that is a franchise and it's a movie. It's a movie.

We would have to... I don't think we ever could do that because we'd have to get a trademark and we'd never do it. No, Lindsay Lohan has that, but we have Mean Girl. Yes. So we did Mean Girl and then sat in a room on like Word and made our logo with like a little tongue off the internet and called it a day. I...

We had to change everything because literally we stole everything from the internet. Yeah. And everyone's like, did you trademark that? Did you like get that legally? And we're like, you have to do that? And we're like, we don't know anything about that. So then they like took it and they like made it all legal and everything. And we had a few producers and then, and then lo and behold, we landed on a really good one that believed in us. Little Miss Alana popped, popped into the picture and she kind of changed the game for us. She entirely changed the game. Yeah.

We were like floundering around and like didn't know. I remember when you came in there, I'd never met you, but you guys had worked together and Alana came in and you were just this like brilliant brain. - I think she needs to come up here. - Oh, would you? - Do you want to? - Come on, come on up here. Come up here and talk a little bit, Alana.

We're getting the band back together. The band is back together. It never really fell apart, but... Also, too... Wait, is it... Did you turn on? No, now turn on.

Your voice, it's like you're back. I feel like I'm a little uncomfortable now because usually I would sit over there. Yeah, you're usually here. Oh my God, hi. Hi, Lana. How are you? We miss you guys. We miss you. It's been four months since we've all sat in a room and recorded. I know. I'm a little rusty. I was going to say, do you feel like you're out of the podcast game? A hundred percent. I feel like very disconnected from it a little bit.

And well, where should we start? I don't even know. I feel like, I mean, I would say you're kind of the reason Too Mean Girl started. Because remember, you were like Jordan's like chill when you first met me. Oh, yes. Yes. Jordan really wanted to start a podcast. And I was like, I don't think you can just start a podcast. I feel like you need to wait for the moment. She was like, I just want to podcast. I'm like, well, what about? And she's like, you know, just found me. I'm like, no one knows who you are yet.

No, Alana, you can't. No, literally, Mikey Podcast put us in a room and Alana was like, you can't start a podcast. And I was like, this girl just broke my heart. I was so nervous after because you're so Midwest and I feel like I'm very East Coast. I was like, I don't think you should start a podcast.

Yeah.

She is a phenomenal strategy brain and like you see things from the top down. And so you're like a producer, but also like a strategist. So I'm not trying to say I thought you believed in this, but I do kind of think like you did. Oh yeah, for sure. I feel like it's very rare to find like organic, you know, like I was listening to another podcast the other day and they said monetizing the friendship. And I thought that was funny because like you guys just had such like a

like a good rapport and it was like very authentic and like when you communicate it was just like fun and interesting and also like very insightful and like vulnerable so I just like saw that and like I just wanted to be a part of it so we started working together you like came in and you had this vision on like the first moment you might as well you're like I have this idea and I was like how do you just like think of these things off the top of your head it was crazy yeah

But you're like, here's the idea. Here's the strategy. Let's get going. And we're like, okay. Is that a question or a statement? You molded us though. I feel like you took these like little babies and you were like, this is where you are. And I think this is where you want to go. I'm so happy for you guys. I feel like this is going to be very exciting to watch. Like, what are you feeling? I feel like you never really got into it yet. This is about you right now, Lona. And also you said the word fired before.

is that it I haven't heard you say that she's been trying to use the word not renewed did I say fired you've said it a couple times sorry did I say that no you did I caught it because I would say it on the phone and she'd be like no we weren't yeah I thought it was like not renewed it's like a mutual thing yeah okay so that was like a slip okay yeah I forgot you don't work at bar so I know I actually have like I don't really know much I'm like you should know this like what you don't work there anymore yeah yeah it was like a it was like a contract renewal

Yeah, we, yeah. But can you talk about that a little more? Because I feel like you haven't gotten there yet. Yeah, but not yet, Alana. You're jumping the gun. Oh, really? Yeah. Alana's up here producing right now. She's like, okay. I can't help it. So the point of this episode is why you guys didn't get renewed at Barstool. And if you guys would like to go ahead and get to that right now, that would be great. I'm like, Alana. No, but I think. They know what they want. I'm sweating simultaneously. Alana's like, ladies. But I think if you talk about like,

like a lot of people still think to this day, Oh, you left and we just like all stopped talking. Cause that's always like what people assume, but it's like you, why do you leave? And like, what are you up to now? Cause everyone's always like, what's Lana doing? Is she still editing? Is she still producing? Oh my God. Yeah. No, I, I'm totally in like a different industry. I work for like a fashion startup now, a tech startup. Ooh, plug it. Red shoes. Red is the color of the season. If you didn't know, um, it is, uh,

So yeah, like totally different. I'm like watching you guys from afar. I feel like so weird about it. Like, you know, when like you go to college or something and you're watching like your friends from high school, like do their thing with like their new friends. I'm like, whatever. But I love it. That's actually, and I think the thing too about what Alana left was,

I remember when you called me and you were like, you were crying. And it's because it's how I feel right now. Right. And like a weird element about that. Why are you leaving me? Yes. And that's why I was going to do that right here on the stage. No, I'm saying because you leave something and you're so unsure about the next thing. Oh my God. Yeah. That was like a huge...

I was so, so scared to, and like sad and nervous to talk to you about it. You particular, because you, Alex had introduced me to my new boss, like to the founder of my company. So I felt like a little, I don't know, like if it was, I don't know how to explain it. Just, I was, I was nervous. Like I didn't want to upset you or feel like, you know, someone that you introduced me to like stole me from you in some way, even though it wasn't like that at all. But when I called you, you were like, Oh, I forgot. I forgot exactly how you said it, but you were like,

Right now, I just want everyone to do exactly what they need for the next step of their life, blah, blah. And it was just so happy and exciting. And yeah, I was so scared. And I felt like I owed something or I was stuck in a certain place because that's what I built and knew. But it was... I don't know. I had never left a job before, I guess. So I didn't have that self-awareness to know that it was okay to take the next step when you needed to. So...

I don't know. Thank you for like, you actually like, we're so sweet about it. I was so scared. No, when you called me, I remember thinking this is what life's about. Like introducing people so they can go grow. Like I would want somebody cause, cause the thing about the flip side of that. So you stay cause we want you to selfishly. It's like, no, go like spread your wings. I tell Amazon all the time. I'm like, go get them. It's like, that's what life's about. So I was really, I was really proud of you. I remember that call to this. I know. I was so scared when I called you. I was like in an alleyway.

Why? I was literally crouched between two garbage cans in an alleyway. I don't know. Because I was like torching myself inside. So I was like, I guess let me just put myself in the worst situation I can. I'm literally like, I'm freaky. I'm like, I'm so happy for you. I'm like, I have to tell you something. Do you have a minute? You know, and I'm like, what? But yeah, like, I don't know. It was so, it was so positive because like,

it was just, you know, moving on to the next thing. Yeah. And now you're just like a cute little fashionista. She was like, today she's like, I'm making my Tik TOK. And I'm like, Oh yeah. I started to take talk like a week ago. I'm really into it. A lot of spreading her wings. Yeah.

Okay, how did you feel when you saw that we were not renewed? Honestly, I wasn't surprised. Like, not, no, no, no, not. Saw that one coming. Thanks, Alana. I meant, like, I thought for you guys the best thing was to do your own thing. Right. Like, and that's, I don't know, I just felt like it was, like, a good mutual, like, parting. Totally. Like, I feel like I'm excited to see what you do, like,

you know, on your own when you could be whatever you want and like, not that you couldn't there, but you know what I mean? Like you could just do whatever. Totally. Like the world is your oyster kind of. And I'm excited for that for you guys. Thank you. Yeah. That was the only media that we had ever known. We were born there and then we had stayed there. So it's like now when you can truly do anything, it's like, what does that look like? Right. Right. And like, that's the magic of it there that you could really do it. Like you meet the best people, like you have the best

opportunities but now like you guys did that and it's like oh what else can you do I don't know I'm excited to see it thank you I'm gonna graduate yeah yeah maybe we could like now actually talk about why we left okay let's do it all right okay thanks Lana thanks give it up for Alana okay so I feel like uh we should jump to when did this happen like May

Yeah. June? Yeah. No, it was like June. It was June, I think. Okay. So we had a coworker write like a piece on us that wasn't so friendly. I forgot about that, yeah. And I think we just... I think that was the first step of us not going into the office as much anymore because we would go into the office a lot before that. And then we were like...

Regardless of the piece, I think we just decided, you know what? We can make our content out of the office. Let's do that. But I think it's important to know we were having... Because the purpose of this episode, we have to clear up a couple of misconceptions. So I do just want to say in a respectful way, we were having very proactive, candid conversations with Erica and Gaz about why we weren't coming in. And I remember Erica said it best. She was like, I don't think you guys are trying to make a statement not coming in here. I see you hitting your ads. I see the performance. Like,

That was very much so everyone was in the know there at the top. Yeah. And I think too, like, so we learned the term quiet quitting a few weeks ago. And I feel like we were quiet quitting in a way because we weren't necessarily sure what we were going to do next, but we did in the back of our heads.

think that not renewing was an option because we had to wait until the to my contract ended and that was in october and it was coming up very quickly and we didn't have it like we weren't having a contract discussion with anyone so we always were keeping our options open and that was something like we were like we might not renew right right we we started having those very candid conversations especially when alana left yeah we were like okay when somebody kind of does something that you're thinking about doing you're like well anybody can do that yeah so you

We were talking with Erica because at the time Penn still owned Barstool. So Erica was our point of contact. We had hired agents. Erica knew this. We had the same agent.

And we were negotiating with her the terms of our renewal and things. Then they looked different. Like we were going to be able to do like beauty stuff. You could do beauty stuff. I could do PBR stuff. We were going to be able to really branch out into our worlds that we really love all while still fostering Mean Girl Pod. Yeah. And it was like...

From the outside, no one thought we were talking to anyone at Barstool. Everyone just assumed like we stopped coming in. There was no communication. But I mean, you talk to Dave frequently. Erica was talking to both of us. Our agents were talking to Erica. Dave knew we had agents. It was very like open. And then Dave bought back Barstool. Penn got removed and it kind of like totally changed everything.

the outcome of Mean Girl Potter, Future of Barstool and everything. Yeah, there was a shift there. So yeah, Dave buys it back and then on a Sunday, two Sundays after he buys it back, he called me and he was just like, hey, um,

Well, one, he on a very, he was, he was, we have to know, like, we both love Dave and like the way he talked to us was just so normal and like kind. And I just love it because he like, first, like, what are you doing? I'm like, just walking around. And he's like, okay, well, what's like your plan? Like, what, like, what are you guys doing? Like, you're not coming in. I'm the one now that negotiates contracts. Like, I want people to come back in the office and,

And he said, I'm going to renew you guys at what you started at. That's going to be your new renewal stand or that's going to be your contract renewal. So remember how we said we started two months apart, basically. So when we both started, we both signed two year contracts. Mine had an option of a third and we signed them.

Jordan got bumped to what I was making six months in. Yeah. Because we were doing the same thing. And so Erica was like, I want you guys to be making the same salary. So we knew what we made. Everything was very transparent. So we were up for renewal and Dave calls and he says, I'm going to renew you at the same thing. And I said, okay, well, that's going to have to be something I think about knowing, okay, that that is the contract on the table at that price. And number two, that things are looking more like we go back in the office because we're

We weren't sure trajectory wise, if that was what Jordan and I wanted to do. So we were very candid and we just, we just kept saying, you know, let us think about this. Hold on. And then you went in and talked to him in person. Yeah. So you had personal things going on. So you took a little bit of a hiatus. You were gone. I had to come back into the office and people were like,

oh, Alex and Jordan aren't together anymore. Like she's not part of it. And like all this drama and rumors were coming. I talked to Dave for like an hour. It was actually a very good conversation. And the whole time he was like,

I was pretty much like filling him in on what Mean Girl Pod was. I was showing him our numbers, this and that. He found out like what you were going through. He was very sympathetic. I think he like reached out to you afterwards. And yeah, we talked for like an hour. But at the end of that conversation, he pretty much was like, one, you need to come back in the office. Two, I'm not going to increase your salaries and we'll probably do like

one more year contract and see like what that looks like. But he was very like, you need to be coming back into the office and like get into like the swing of things with everyone else. And, and isn't that when he said though, if you guys don't, you could probably have your IP. Yep. And then he, yeah, yeah, he did. He verbally told me at that day, he was like, and you probably can have your IP. And like, I remember that I was like, probably. And that, that was kind of an interesting little, that was a, we, okay. So we thought about that. So then, um,

About two weeks later, the tweet, you put up the tweet. What about Times Square? Oh, yes, yes, we did. Okay, so Alana works at Rodeo app. Yes. And it's our link in bio. And it's fabulous. We love Rodeo and Rodeo loves us. And we've always been like very mutually supportive. They are a fashion tech startup. Is that accurate so far? And it uses AI to help identify your clothes. I mean, it's like, it's what?

It's in beta. Yeah. And it's, it's our link in our bio for Mean Girls. It's my, it's my link. Is it your link? Yeah, mine too. You see our clothes, you see our restaurants, all that through it. So Rodeo does a Times Square, um,

What's that called? A billboard. A billboard. And we were on it. And we were really excited about that. And we were posting it everywhere. And I get a text from Dave and it's like, it's really annoying that you're posting this rodeo stuff, but you haven't posted, you know, done anything for Barstool. Yeah. And I say that because he references that when we were on the rundown with him. All that to say, that was just sort of one of those things where...

There was a lot of talk that went around Barstool about us that wasn't necessarily like informed, I guess, so to say. So we ran into Nate, one of our coworkers in the elevator, and I was like, Nate, you

Because there was a rumor that started that Jordan and I were going to leave Barstool and go to Rodeo. And I was like, that's like saying we're going to leave and go to American Eagle. Like they're a fashion company and like we wouldn't even get a job because they don't host podcasts. And he's like, I know what you're talking about. And we're like, oh, that's weird. Yeah. We don't qualify to go to Rodeo. You know, they don't, couldn't do that. Yeah. So there was a lot of like,

external kind of like talking that happened. But Dave and I, we cleared that. That's the best part about him, right? Like head on. And I was just like, no, always been a very mutually beneficial relationship. Also nothing but good for us to be. He sent you that text that he even referred to in the rundown where he was like, I sent Alex like, I don't want to say scared. Like what was his wording? Not scared, but he was not nice. Not nice text.

And that was like the beginning of kind of like the, I don't want to say the beginning of the end, but like we kind of knew our time was getting limited because we had like a series of events leading up to us not being renewed. And I don't blame him. He was very clear on this. Come to the office. That is the new way things are going to go. And we weren't doing that. And yeah,

And we needed, we had said, and I told him this, we had set September 22nd was our time. We were going to officially decide and we were going to go in and tell him it was a week before your contract was up. Oh yeah, we've never actually talked about that. And I told him that. I said, September 22nd, we were going to come and tell you, but I fully understand his frustration with that text of me posting rodeo if you don't understand what it is.

all the same time you're saying, get your butt back in the... Like, there's a disconnect there. I totally get that. But around that time, you and I sat down and made the firm decision that we were not going to renew with Barstool. And we had a calendar. And like you said...

On, yeah, September 22nd. Yeah. Remember the date? Yeah, I did remember the date. Yeah, we were going to, I was going to go to Italy. I was going to come back from Italy and we were going to go and be like. We were pretty sure. Yeah, we were like, thank you so much, but we're not going to renew at Barstool. I would say we were 80% there on doing that.

80, 90, 110. A hundred. Okay. We forgot to, not a numbers girl. Yeah. A hundred. But then, yeah, I mean the, the tweet went out after, so Barstool like publicly let go, I think it was like 200 employees. We,

We put out a TikTok that was like walking into the office because we didn't get fired. And it wasn't to show hate towards our employees, our colleagues who got let go. It was literally to be like, hey, stoolies, we still work at Barstool. Like, we're still there. And it was like just like be a joke. Right. Looking back at the tweet, you immediately were like, I can see how this could be perceived bad.

That's the last thing we want. So it was removed, of course, because our hearts go out to our coworkers, producers. We love them all. That was terrible. Yeah, we lost our second producer, Nick. And we were like, oh my gosh. So the tweet just came across wrong. Anyways, goes in the fire.

This is when we ended up having our very candid conversation with Dave, KFC, Feidelberg, Pat on the couch. Yeah, it was public. It was on Barstool Radio. Yeah, just sort of talking about the reasons we don't come in. We don't mind if the internet comments don't like us. It's hard sometimes when your own coworkers have this internal dialogue about you.

that you don't really like, we don't have to go in there and defend ourselves necessarily, but on the same token, we don't come, we don't, that's why we don't come in. And we're not sure if we want to come in, like do this game. Yeah. It wasn't like,

like we get if the internet dislikes us but it was also like our co-workers didn't want us around and it was just like a different type of dislike that even dave was like this is weird like we've never really seen this before and i feel like when we were all sitting on barcelona radio like they were starting to understand it i i felt very i'm so glad we had that day i felt understood i felt like we were honest they were honest back and

And Dave made a good point too. Like the people at the top, they understand what we do and kind of the way we do it. And we had a very candid conversation with Kevin KFC afterwards. And he said, you know, girls, the thing is to come back in the office. And we said, listen, Kevin, we, we get that, but we're, and we're not sure what we want to do, but we will let you know. Yeah. And we were trying to be candid with everybody. Like we really are thinking about this.

And then he texted us that night and said, will you guys judge the OnlyFans contest next Monday? And we said yes. Yes. We both said yes, we would. And then Monday rolled around. We went in, recorded the episode, and we left. And we did not judge the OnlyFans contest. KFC texted us, and we did not respond. Yeah. Yeah, and that was one of the many times you had food poisoning. Yes. Yeah, which...

I apologize for not responding to him because I don't think I've ever not responded to a text in my entire life. But I think...

I mean, I have no excuse for it. I just like, I think I was frustrated at that point. I was exhausted and I just, I didn't want to judge it. I should just grown a pair and told him. Yeah. And I, there's no excuse. Like I, I can text when I'm throwing up easily. So we should have responded to that text the next day, Tuesday. I remember I got out of the shower. I had a missed call from David, a text that called me period. And I thought, I didn't even think of the only fans, but I thought that's probably not good. So I called him and he just said, Hey, did you ditch KFC on the only fans?

contest yesterday and I said in so many words yes and that's inexcusable and it was it was inexcusable and I don't blame him I mean at that point and he said that's when he said I've been waiting for your answer and I said listen we're still thinking about it September 22nd we were going to tell you we weren't going to not give you the answer and then he just said

part in ways and I said okay and then I was on the way to the office um because I was planning on going in and finishing up some Pink Whitney stuff and you weren't because you were sick and all of a sudden I get a call from well first you texted me it was so like morbid you're like don't go in the office and I was like okay well you never know if he's like on the radio being like I fired him but I was like I'm on the subway so I was like I'll call you when I got off the subway you called me and you're like

Dave said, I'm done. And I'm like, okay, what does that mean for me? I literally get off the phone with you. I look at my phone, there's a text from Dave and he's like, Alex is done and you're not renewed either. I was like, okay. I'm like walking into the office at this point. I'm like...

I like didn't, he didn't text me back. So I was like, Dave, can we talk? I remember being in KFC's old radio room with intern Ben, like recording the ads for Pink Whitney being like, I need to get out of this. I was like, does the world know? Does the world know? And then all of a sudden after I'm done recording, I get a text from you and you're like, he's on Barstool radio right now saying you're not heard. And I'm like,

I'm in this office right now and I'm not renewed. Does my key cards don't work? No, literally. So I like leave KFC's room. I go the back way. I'm like, I got to get to Dave's office right now. I'm like, please be in your office. Please be in your office. He's in his office with the door closed, but Erica was outside his office. And I was like, hi, can we talk? And she was like, hey, how are you? And I'm like, did you see? And she was like,

I don't think she like heard the radio and I was like, Dave decided not to renew us. And she's like, oh, let's chat. She grabs Dave, Dave, Eric and I chat. And it was like such a normal conversation. And Dave was in so many words, like, I'm pretty sure you guys can have your IP back. We got to figure out like legal and all that. Erica was so nice. And she was like, let me know what I can do for you guys. But

I don't think people realize how much they talked to us and how it wasn't like a horrible ending. No, and Dave's number one thing when we had the Twitter video that was misconceived and then

And then we had, when we left, he was like, listen, I want people to go be successful. Like I want you girls to go do well. And if I keep the IP, if you keep the IP, like it helps you guys if you go. And so he's always gone to bat for us in that way. Like he truly wants people to do well. And like he wanted that for us. So it was the fact that we got that IP was, we're so, I mean, we're so thankful. Well, and I think too, why they were considering not giving it to us is because they, they

from other coworkers thought that we didn't create the accounts on our own. They thought that we had taken it from other podcasts. Cause that happens a lot. Like if a podcast leaves, they'll repurpose the Instagram because they're like, why let that go to waste? But we did not do that. We started from the beginning. And a lot of our coworkers were like, no, no, no. They took the, this Instagram, they took this account from this. And Dave was like, he, I remember being in that room with him and Erica. And he was like, did you take it from X, Y, Z? And I was like, no. And he was like,

Oh, well then you can have it because I thought you took it from one of our accounts. I'm like, no. So to clarify, like if somebody has a hundred thousand followers and they leave Barstool and Barstool keeps their IP, they still have the Instagram handle and the name and we could take it and make it mean girl. And then we have that a hundred thousand.

The thing is, we thought about doing it with a certain podcast and we decided not to because we were like, we want to organically grow this ourself. And I don't know. And we got, I mean, we just luckily made that decision because we got to say everything we built from the ground up. And that was a good feeling. Yeah, because we probably wouldn't have gotten our social back. Right. Because they would have, I mean, that would have been actually a fair move on their part. Yeah. And we were really lucky because not only did we get our socials back, we got our...

RSS feedback, which is what goes on podcasts, audio, the whole thing. So we fully own Mean Girl Pod IP now. Yeah, and that was...

Man, I mean, if we could get that, we were like, okay, now we can roll. I heard a few claps. Thanks. Thanks, Brandon. Thanks so much. And what we're going to do with it, we'll tell you later in the week. Yes, yes. But I do want to say, looking back, I was like reflecting on this last night, thinking about our time at Barstool because I remember my mom texted me. No, you text me and you were like, Bella had sent it to you and you were like,

Did you not get renewed? And I was like, what does the internet know? And so I called you and I said, Hey, what are you talking about? And you were like, he's on Barstool radio talking about it. And I was like, Oh, well I gotta go. Cause I'm already looking at, and I was doing like the next thing. And I was like, I gotta go mom. I'm really busy. Cause I'm on the phone with somebody else and like hung up. And then like, we never even took, that was 20 minutes after it happened. Like,

We never sat there and like stopped and really felt like the leaving part of it. So last night I was reflecting on it and I was thinking about how...

cool it is that we had that opportunity to work because it's a flat organization in a good way in the sense that Dave and Erica are so accessible and we really got to learn from some of the I would say the best in the industry like they created the internet and we got to have such close contact with them and we always joke like Barstool's not that corporate and there's so much good that comes with that because we got to learn so many facets of the business yeah and I was like

our number one job was to be yourself. And if you're yourself, then you'll be more successful. And it's like,

That is such a cool thing. And like to get to work there and to learn there, I'm like, we were really lucky. And we were lucky because we stuck together because that was the number one question conspiracy thought people had was like, nah, they're going to stab each other in the back and they're not going to stick together. Everyone thinks we're not friends. Okay, you guys, I'm so excited to share my new favorite skincare brand, especially if you're going for that all natural dewy look.

Oak Essentials was launched underneath the Jenny Kane, which is one of my favorites. Oak Essentials aims to unlock healthy, glowing skin with that all natural approach. And it really gives you like the most beautiful dewy look.

and you look so beautiful, but you don't look overdone. That's the key. My favorite product, especially as we're transitioning from summer into fall into winter is the Moisture Rich Balm. It's deeply moisturizing and it feels so good when you apply it to the skin. I cannot recommend that enough. They use only the best ingredients. You can use the Moisture Rich Balm by itself, or you can apply a layer of makeup over it and you still have that natural dewy look. It's the best.

And then I like to add a little bit of the conditioning lip balm right over it, and I'm ready to go for the day. Oak Essentials is my go-to, Jordan's go-to, the Mean Girl Pod go-to for natural, beautiful-looking skin, and it's going to be yours too. openessentials.com 15% off enjoy everyone thinks we're not friends it's very funny everyone thinks like every always the DMs are you guys really friends are you guys gonna stay together and we're like we're still here yeah we've seen the other story you know where they don't stay together it's like one other story no yeah it's like it's so funny that people have that thought

And I don't know where it comes from, but we really did. Like we, I mean, I don't even think we ever thought about not staying together. I think it was just like, okay, well, we're both not renewed. And so then what are we going to go and do from here? Yeah. And it was exciting too, because like, like you said, we didn't really have that thought of like,

let's just sit here and think we were just like onto the next thing. Yeah. And we, we went and so we spent, we spent the next two weeks after we were gone, um, meeting, truly taking every meeting we could because our inbox, we were, we were flattered truly when the news broke, um,

The next day, our inboxes, our email inboxes were full of people in the industry saying, hey, not sure what you guys are going to do next. So we took every single meeting we could. And we learned like the amount we were able to learn and understand from that was I thought like that was one of my favorite things that happened afterwards was understanding all of our options and understanding what you can do with it. Oh, yeah. Because like when you're a barstool, you're not a like traditional barstool.

I hate to say traditional influencer, but we weren't taught about talent agencies, management agencies, all that, because at Barstool you don't get to do that. So I feel like we educated ourselves in two weeks on every possible outcome Mean Girl Pod could have. We have to stop there. Okay. Because...

That's going to be different. Oh, correct, correct. Okay. Mim just held up move on. I know. I thought, why did he do that? Correct. Okay, so we'll get to that later. We have like a full day on that, you know? That's true. We do. But we have some games. Okay, you want to play it? Yes. It's got to be 107 degrees in here. I know. Yeah. I'm sorry.

I told you. I was sitting on the freezer. I have to be sweating and there's snot dripping out of my nose. No, I was literally sitting on the freezer before we walked on because I was dying of sweat and I felt like I was going to throw up. I've lost my cards. That doesn't surprise me. I'll just... Hey, am I yours? No, I could be. Alex. Oh, I am sitting on them. Okay. I was going to say, how? Okay, so like we said, everyone thinks we're not friends, so we're going to play how well do you know each other game. You were trying to segue into that. Yeah, I was. I didn't catch it. It's fine. It's the music. It's fine. Um...

And I'm going to win. Okay. It's called the still best. It's questions that Brandon wrote about. It's like quiz. It's like a quiz. Yeah. It's just 10 questions about like, so I'm going to read it and then you answer and then I'll answer. Okay. And if you lose, you don't get to come tomorrow. Oh, I'm just kidding. That's one episode I don't want to miss is your relationship update. Okay. Alex.

Okay. I'm going to read the first one. I'm going to read it. I know. I know. They're all like, she's going to read the dyslexic. One's going to read. It's because I pressure. I practice. You had mims in them. Do you? Oh, you can surely read this. Yeah, I can. Okay. Ready? Yep.

So you're going to answer it. Yeah. Okay. What town was I born in? Northfield, Minnesota. Wait, Alex, I'm proud of you. Thank you. That's population 20,000 people. I'm shocked. I know. I thought for sure there was more. That's very strange. What town was I born in? Edmond, Oklahoma. Correct. Yes. Okay. Now you're going to read the second one. Okay. Number two. What's my favorite food? Okay. So I always want to say walking taco, the piece of turkey with the egg, but I feel like it's literally grass. Yeah.

I mean, it's lettuce. But you, I mean, you like a variety of things, but like, I want to say the walking tacos, like your signature favorite food. Yes, but you know, I love a pretzel.

yeah in a moment of dire need i would say the gluten-free pretzels a year and a half ago remember i was like someone was like you can't buy alex those anymore because you'd eat like the whole bag when you were stressed yeah i stress eat them so i go through love and hate with but my fate i love a walking taco that's a good answer that's like a half a point what's mine um yours is chips and dip queso chips and guac and queso yeah queso salsa i'm proud of you two for me and one for you

No, I got both of them. I'm an Oklahoma. I can do a half point. No, walking. Everyone on the internet will say walking taco is your signature food. That's your favorite. Mom, do you think walking taco is my favorite food? She doesn't know. Okay. What's my coffee order? Even if it's negative 10 degrees, Jordan wants an iced coffee. With what kind of milk? Almond milk. Nope. What? Coconut milk. What? Yeah. Always coconut milk. Ask Ames. Is it coconut milk?

Dang. Is that a half point for me? Yes. Okay, fine. Half and half. All right. Two and a half to one and a half. Yours is now... It did recently change. I mean, back in the day, it was a grande, medium... Grande, medium. No, no, no. No, you can be dark, light, medium. Oh, you're right. Grande, medium roast. Yeah, medium roast. And now you have a splash of almond milk in it. Unfortunately, that's correct. Yes, I know. So three and a half, two and a half? No, we're...

We have the exact same score. Does anybody know? Okay. We're tied. Oh, dang. Okay. All right. What's my favorite TV show of all time? Yellowstone. Absolutely correct. Yours is, well, I know you loved Bridgerton, but I also know you loved, I think you liked Gossip Girl, but I think you watched something. Oh, you like Sex and the City.

It's not my favorite, but it is a show I really like. What's your favorite? Jane the Virgin is my favorite. But you can have sex in the city. That is one of my top five. I've never even heard Jane the Virgin. Jane the Virgin. What? I've never even heard. Okay. I've never even heard you say that show. I think sex in the city was right. It's your turn.

Um, my favorite restaurant in the city. Okay. It used to be La Pecora Bianca. No, that's it. It still is? Yeah, yeah. What were you going to say? What was this? What were you going to be like? If it's not that, I was really going to be in trouble. I mean. No, you're right. It's La Pecora Bianca. I feel like for you, it's hard, but I mean, I would just say American Bar, but I don't think that's going to be right. That's not right. Or it's like somewhere with oysters. With oysters? I don't know. I'm going to get this wrong. What is your favorite restaurant? In the city? Yeah. Yeah.

Well, my guess was American Bar for you. It's been really fluid though lately. Can I get American Bar then? No, right now it's this place called Delmonico's, but like that's not even fair. I don't even think that's fair. So you just, yeah, no, you have to have one that you really love. I was thinking of American Bar. I'm trying to change it so you lose. Okay, well I win. Well, that one, you won that one. Okay. What's my alcoholic beverage of choice?

Oh, it depends on the day. Does it? Yeah. I mean, I think it's, I mean, I would say either Savion, Blanc, or Sancerre. Or sometimes you do a little vodka martini or vodka. Nope. We don't do martinis. There's one thing I love.

Uh, high noon? No. Oh my God. No. I love champagne. Oh my God. Literally in my head, I was going to say champagne. What is wrong with me? Yours is Sauvignon Blanc, white wine. Okay, fine. I'll give that to my, now we're tight again. Oh, here you go.

What actor would I want to play me in a movie? Oh, to play you? Yeah. Paige DeSorbo. She's not an actor, but it's like a... I'll give you that. That's your person. Yeah. That's your girl. I would say Kate Hudson for you. Okay. Okay. I'll take Kate. I didn't have anybody in mind, so any blonde that you said was going to work. Okay. Margot Robbie would have worked, but that's fine. I think you're missing an asset.

An asset? Okay. She also has an ass, and I don't have that either. Oh, yeah, she does. But both. My favorite city in the world. I mean, it's in the United States. I'm pretty sure... Well, let's do favorite city in the United States. I don't have a favorite city in the world. Yeah, mine's in the United States. We know that. There's one thing we've learned. I'm pretty sure... Because somebody asked...

It could be Rhode Island. It could be in Rhode Island, but I think it could be Miami. It's New City. Well, right. I was going to say it's Newport, but it's, I think it's, I think it's Miami, but I could, I could in a pinch see you saying it's New York. It's for sure New York City. I was like, Alex, we were sitting on it. I was getting away from it. Yours is Miami. It is. Correct. Um, what was my major in college?

Well, you did insurance after, which is interesting. I went to college for insurance. Yeah, but you went... The only thing I know about you in college is that when it was hunting day, opening day, hunting day, the NDSU stadium was half full because everyone was hunting. I think you majored in business, communicate? Not business. Business.

PR. Nope. Broadcast. Broadcasting. Communication. Communication. Yeah, it just switched to communication at NDSU. It was very broad. Very broad. For you, broadcast journalism. Marketing. Business. Communication. Communication. Native American minor. Yeah, so try me on my tribes. Who's my celebrity crush? Matthew McConaughey. Correct, and I only have one. And yours is...

Well, I think yours is... I have more female celebrity crushes than males. Yeah, I can't think of one male I've heard you say is hot, but I can think of about a thousand girls that you're like, she's beautiful. You can name a girl. Okay, Paige DeSorbo. Okay, let's pick somebody else. The cat girl, the cat Sadler girl. No, let's pick an A-lister celebrity. Oh, okay. The girl who looks like me, I think. Yeah, I'm thinking people that look like you. An A-list celebrity that you think is so beautiful is...

Man, it's like you talk about celebrities, like you think I would know this. Oh, Hailey Bieber. No, I've never said that, but I win. You like road lip stuff though. Yeah, that's like, continue with the live question. Who do you think? I mean, if you said Margot Robbie. Oh, her? Sydney Sweeney. Sydney Sweeney. I could have got Sydney Sweeney. Yeah, Sydney Sweeney. Okay, that's it. Well, we have live questions from the audience. Oh, I'll read those. I did. I don't. By one? Did you win by one? She wasn't even listening. Alex. Alex.

I'm going to give it to Jordan for the win. Really? Okay, that's fair. All right, Jordan, you win. Okay, what will you miss most about Barstool? Oh, yeah, by the way, these questions are from you guys. They're from the audience. What will you miss most about Barstool? Oh, I know. You go first. Go on.

It's a couple. I would say for me, um, like they, the chaoticness, like that place truly was chaos on a regular basis, but in a good way. Right. Monday morning was always cause our episodes dropped on Monday and every Monday morning we would have like a fire on Twitter. Yeah. I'm going to miss the NASCAR partnership. That's easy for me. Yeah. I love them. I still have my hard card though. Also to like random celebrities walking into the office. Yes. Like with the day I saw Michael B. Jordan. Oh,

oh you were i could have said him you were really losing your mind on him that was crazy yeah and the guy i saw the guy the the big one but he's actually short oh mark walberg yes and he had the ou hat on no i had the ou hat on and he said i like your hat yeah if mark walberg said he liked my hat i would melt i said i'll give it to you okay um did you know you wanted to be in front of the camera for a living good i already said that uh what's your favorite viral mean girls clip

Mine's the dinosaur one. It's not my favorite, but I feel like the 666 is just going to haunt me for the rest of my life. And it's like... And you're like, long live. Long live. Long live that. But that's my favorite. My favorite is the dinosaur. I like the way the dinosaur one was clipped because it was like, you just clipped it so well. And it was just so funny. What was the best part about your last day at Barstool? The best part about our last day? Yeah. Yeah.

We weren't even there at the same time. I wasn't there at all. Yeah. The best part about my last day was you, my mom finding out first. Mine was that I got to sit in a room with Erica and Dave and like have no, like we were like all three, like just normal people talking about like my next steps and your next steps. Yeah. That's nice. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Um, Oh wait, hold on. Okay. I'm going to do, let's see if you can.

Okay, if you hadn't landed Barstool as your job, where could you see yourself being right now? Oh, I don't know. Honestly, I probably would have eventually taken the TikTok pop culture and just kept doing it on my own. Okay. Maybe I'd work at...

e-news or something. I would probably like to be at like a sports network doing some kind of reporting or I would have a marketing PR job, but probably, ideally I would be at a sports network. Ideally I'd be a NASCAR, um, reporter. You wouldn't have known you like NASCAR. I know that's why that one's hard. That's why that's true. That's why that's hard. PBR reporter. You wouldn't know you like PBR. I wouldn't. I'm so thankful for Barstow for so many things like that.

Okay. And the last one is not. Oh, it is a question. I heard the next episode is going to be electric with an awesome guest. What can you tell us about that, Jordan? I don't know. I have no idea what you're talking about. Plead the fifth. It's anonymous. Plead the fifth and come to the next night of our live show. Listen to the next episode. Yeah. Listen to the next episode. There we go. We can say that. Meeting adjourned. Woo! High five. High five.
