Shownotes Transcript

Welcome to the podcast from the bottom of your heart. In the last episode, we learned that Mohan was no longer alive in the battlefield, but he became immortal forever through the letters written to Radha. Radha was deeply saddened to learn this, but she was also happy to learn that Mohan was remembering her even in her last moments.

The love letter of the shop, Radha would come daily in the corner and read the letters of Mohan. She would tell Manasi about Mohan, her sweet memories of childhood, the terrible experience of the battlefield and her endless love for each other.

Slowly, Mohan became a familiar for Manasi. Manasi felt that she too had become a part of Mohan and Radha's love story. She could feel Mohan's words. She could understand his emotions. One day, while coming to the shop, Radha gave a small box to Manasi.

There was an old watch and a picture of Mohan in the box. Mohan was standing in the picture dressed as a soldier and smiling. The same shine was in his eyes as in the letters of Mohan and his words. Radha told Mansi that this picture and watch are the symbol of Mohan. He said, "Daughter, now you keep these things in mind. These are the memories of Mohan."

Mansi held the box and hugged Radha. There were tears in her eyes, but these were not tears of grief. Rather, it was a promise to continue the story of Mohan and Radha's incomparable love. A few days later, a young man came to the shop. He was looking at the books. He must have been about 18 years old. He had a curiosity in his eyes and an innocence on his face.

Manasi welcomed him and asked, "What are you looking for?" The young man said, "I am looking for books that have history hidden in them." Manasi felt as if she had heard Radha's voice. She showed the young man some old books. The young man looked at the books and reached the corner of the shop. There were letters written by Mohan and diaries written by Radha.

He started reading the letters carefully. After some time, he asked Manasi, "Whose letters are these?" Manasi told him that a soldier Mohan had written these letters to his wife Radha. The young man became emotional reading the letters. After some time, he told him that his name is also Mohan and he is Radha's grandson. Radha had told him about this shop and Mohan's letters.

Mansi was happy to know this. Mansi told the young Mohan everything about Mohan. Radha and Mohan's love story, Mohan's dreams, the state of war, and finally Mohan's endless love for Radha. The young Mohan was stunned to hear all this. He told that he didn't even know that his grandfather had been martyred in war. Radha had never told him this.

After a while, Mohan said, "I have a lot of questions to ask my grandmother." Mansi explained to him, "Mohan, Radha ji has become so old now. She has to endure a lot of pain. Maybe she won't be able to tell you everything." After thinking about it, Mansi suggested,

You bring your grandmother here. Maybe she will come here and tell you about them openly. The young man liked this idea. The next day he brought his grandmother Radha to the shop. As soon as he came to the shop, Radha's eyes became wet. The smell of old books around, letters written by Mohan, his picture, all these things were reminding him of Mohan.

She sat on the chair in the corner of the shop. The young man said softly, "Grandma, you opened this shop, right?" Radha shook her head and answered "Yes." Tears were dripping from her eyes. The young man said, "I have been told that grandpa had written you many letters." Radha said nothing, just wiped her tears with her eyes. The young man said further,

I want to know everything about my grandfather." Radha took a deep breath and said, "Mohan, your grandfather was very brave. He loved books a lot. And you know, your name is also on his name." The young Mohan smiled happily. He asked, "Grandma, when did you meet my grandfather?" Radha shared a lovely memory of childhood.

He told him that he and Mohan used to play together in childhood. During rainy days, they used to make paper boats and flow. He told Mohan how during the war, Mohan wrote letters to him daily. How he used to dream of opening a book shop after the war ended.

Radha also told about the terrible experiences of the war. He told how Mohan was injured and never came back. The young man Mohan was listening to his grandmother carefully. He was proud of his grandfather. He promised Radha that he will also be brave like his grandfather and join the army.

After spending some time in the shop, the young man started taking his grandmother home. While leaving, he said to Manasi, "You have kept the memories of your grandfather in good condition. Thank you very much for this." Manasi smiled and said, "Mohan, this was a love story. Love stories never end. They go on from one generation to another. After a few days, Radha came back to the shop.

She looked a little weak, but she had a strange peace on her face. She told Mansi that she has decided to leave this city. She will now go to live with her grandson Mohan. Mansi was sad to hear that they were leaving, but she respected Radha's decision. Radha hugged Mansi as she left and said,

Daughter, you have not only saved this shop but also Mohan and my love story. You are a very good girl. Mansi's eyes were filled with tears. He blessed Radha and bid farewell. The shop was a little empty but Mansi was not feeling lonely.

Mohan and Radha's love story had made a place in his heart. The fragrance of their letters, the place decorated in the corner of the shop, and Mohan's picture reminded him every day that love never dies. After some time, Mansi changed the name of the shop to Mohan and Radha. Old books were still available in the shop, but now new love stories were also kept with them.

One day, a young man came to the shop. He must have been around 25 years old. He had a book in his hand, whose title was 'Love Letter'. Mansi welcomed him and asked, "What do you want?" The young man said, "I want to buy this book." Mansi smiled and said, "You have chosen a very good book." The young man paid for the book and left.

Then he saw the place in the corner of the shop. There were letters written by Mohan and diaries written by Radha. The young man asked Manasi, "What is this?" Manasi told him that this is the love story of a couple named Mohan and Radha. He told the young man his story in detail. The young man was impressed by the story.

She told him that his name is also Mohan and he is Radha's grandson. Mansi was shocked. She felt that time has not passed for a while. But as she looked at him, the young man smiled and said, "Don't worry, this is not a new Mohan. It is the same Mohan that you had met earlier." Mansi breathed in relief. She asked the young man Mohan, "So your grandmother went to live with you.

The young man said, "Yes, after living with my grandmother for some time, I decided to fulfill her wish. I took a course to open a bookshop and now I want to run this shop." Mansi was very happy to hear this. He promised to help Mohan in managing the shop. Since that day, Mansi and the young man Mohan together managed the shop. Old and new books were still available in the shop.

But now, a new story was being written here. The story of Mansi and the youth, Mohan's friendship. This story was a new chapter in the love story of Mohan and Radha. A chapter that tells that love is immortal and it lives in the form of new stories in new generations. So this was the story of Prem Patra. I hope this story has touched your heart.
