Fox Sports Update. The United States men's national team is expected to hire former Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain manager Mauricio Pochettino
as its new coach, according to Fox Sports soccer insider Doug McIntyre. While the contract isn't finalized, it's expected to eventually cross the finish line per McIntyre. The United States is coming off a disappointing Copa America as it failed to advance past the group stage. Manager Greg Berhalter was fired shortly after the letdown. This came after America was eliminated from the 2022 FIFA Men's World Cup in the round of 16. The United States is the host country for the 2026 FIFA Men's World Cup.

Ohio State head coach Ryan Day announced on Thursday that Will Howard will be the team's 2024 starting quarterback. Speaking about the decision to crown Howard the starter, Day said, quote,
Howard transferred to Ohio State after spending the first four seasons of his collegiate career with the Kansas State Wildcats. Last season, he totaled 2,643 passing yards, 24 passing touchdowns, 10 interceptions, and a 140.1 passer rating while completing 61.3% of his passes. Howard also rushed for 351 yards and nine touchdowns.
Ohio State opens the 2024 college football season at home against the Akron Zips on August 31st. Its first Big Ten conference game comes on the road against the Michigan State Spartans
on September 28th. Sean McDermott said that linebacker Matt Milano suffered a left bicep injury in Tuesday's practice and is out for at least the first few months of the 2024 NFL season. ESPN reported the injury was a torn bicep. Speaking of Milano, McDermott said, "...it's an unfortunate situation and he's a strong young man."
