Fox Sports Update. The day before Selection Sunday meant conference championship games across men's college basketball. Now some schools already knew that they'd be in the NCAA tournament no matter what happened here, but still had plenty to play for, including both seating and history. That was the case in the Big East Finals, where sixth-ranked St. John's was taking on Creighton, and we got to see something that hasn't happened in 25 years. Let the celebration begin!

The St. John's Red Storm are champions of the Big East. On Fox, the Johnnies outscore Creighton by 19 in the second half, including a 32-13 stretch to win their first Big East tournament title since the year 2000, as both teams will now await their seating.

Same deal in the Big 12 final. Both Arizona and second-ranked Houston know they'll be in the field of 68, but Houston guaranteed itself a one seed with a 72-64 win for its first title since joining the league last year. Meanwhile, for some of the smaller programs, they only get into March Madness if they win their conference tournament. That's what was on the line for South Carolina State and Norfolk State in the MEAC finals.

Things got a little crazy with eight seconds left when SC State's Caleb McCarthy apparently didn't realize that the score was tied and intentionally fouled Norfolk State's Christian Ings, allowing him to hit the go-ahead free throw and send Norfolk State to the NCAA tournament for the third time in five years.

It was the same stakes, but not as exciting a game in the America East final where Bryan beat Maine to go dancing for the second time in school history. The Mountain West final was an interesting one with Colorado State blowing out Boise State. Both teams went into the game on the bubble, meaning they might make the tournament or they might not. So now Colorado State will be able to exhale knowing that it's definitely in, while Boise will be sweating it out on Sunday.

Off the court, Villanova parts ways with head coach Kyle Neptune, who never made it to the NCAA tournament in his three seasons in charge.
