Bill Belichick is considered the greatest head coach in NFL history after winning six Super Bowls with the New England Patriots, but the college level is a different ballgame. Belichick arrived at North Carolina after taking the year off from coaching following the end of his 24-year run with the Patriots. You don't wake up dreaming of McDonald's fries. Heading to the NFL, the Raiders have signed four-time Pro Bowl defensive end Max Crosby to a multi-year extension. Though the team did not announce the terms, multiple reports say it's for three years and $106.5 million, with $91.5 million guaranteed. That makes Crosby the highest paid non-quarterback in NFL history. I told him last night, this isn't for what you've done, this is about what you're about to do. He's about chasing championships and so are we, and that's why we're excited to start it.

That was courtesy of the Raiders as general manager John Spitek spoke to the media alongside Crosby and head coach Pete Carroll. Since entering the league in 2019, Crosby has 59 and a half sacks tied for fifth most. In other NFL news, a top receiver is looking for a fresh start. According to multiple reports, Seahawks wideout DK Metcalf has asked for a trade after spending his first six seasons in Seattle. Metcalf said,

Metcalf is a two-time Pro Bowler who has gone over 1,000 yards receiving three times, though he came up eight yards short in 2024. And in college basketball, 13th-ranked Maryland defeated 17th-ranked Michigan 71-65, as the Terrapins have now won six of their last seven games.
