UPDATE: On Thursday, June 6, 2024, about one year following our initial two-part coverage of the Gilgo Beach serial killings, a major development occurred. Rex Heuermann, the main suspect who was arrested in July 2023, now faces new murder charges for the tragic and brutal deaths of two additional women—one whom we discussed during our initial coverage, and another previously unconnected to the Gilgo Beach murders. Additionally, chilling discoveries have been made in Heuermann’s home, including new DNA evidence allegedly linking him to these murders. If you’ve already listened to our coverage of this horrific case, we encourage you to listen again along with the update provided at the top of the episode. If you have not yet listened, please do so with caution, as this case is as graphic as it is heartbreaking.
