Alright, so if you've been following the show for a while, you probably saw my announcement a month or two ago that I'm building a mobile app. I could not be more excited about all of the great features that it's going to offer for you guys. Podcasts are wonderful for a lot of reasons, but there are also many ways where they fall short. Well, today I wanted to share the first of what will be a series of app feature announcements that I'll be releasing in the coming months leading up to launch.
And y'all, these are good ones. These are some of my most requested features, and I'm so excited to finally share more with you about what we're building. First up, the sound machine mixer. Finally, you can fine tune the mixes your way. On the podcast, Summer Campfire is Summer Campfire. You get the crackling fire, babbling brook, hooting owls, and some rustling leaves at exactly the levels that I set.
Well, that's a great place to start, but what if you want to add a little bit of rain bouncing off your tent? Or someone walking nearby on a gravel path? Or some ocean waves? Because why not? The app is going to allow you to do all of that. You can start with any of our professionally mixed sound machines and tweak it to your liking. Or you can build from scratch, creating your own masterpiece sound by sound from our library of hundreds that we've been recording over the years.
We've built a really easy and intuitive way to navigate all of that so you can quickly find the kinds of sounds that you're looking for and add in that little touch to make your sound machine just perfect. In addition to our professionally engineered mixes and the individual sounds you can add in, we've also built the ability to record directly to your device from sounds in your environment.
If you sleep by an air conditioner every night that has a trademark rattle, well, record that into the app, add it to your mix, and take that piece of home with you wherever you go. If you're using the sound machine for your baby, as many of my listeners do, you can record yourself humming their favorite lullaby, for example, so that they're never without your comforting voice to soothe them to sleep.
The ability to create a completely customized sound machine is probably my most requested feature when I discuss the app with listeners. I spent a huge chunk of time with my designers and developers making sure that this was perfect. You guys are gonna love it. Next up, offline listening, another hugely requested feature.
Any sound machine that you find throughout the app, whether it's one that you create yourself or one that we've professionally mixed, you can save that to your library and that'll download it directly to your device so you don't need an internet connection to access it. Not only is this super clutch for people using it on airplanes or in areas with poor connection, but it also provides peace of mind to know that no signal interruptions will mess with your sound machine in the middle of the night.
Rock solid reliability, provided by the track being stored locally on the device that you're listening to it on. I heard you guys loud and clear on this one, and pushed hard to make sure that it was offered in the first version of the app that launches. These are just two of the many features that the app will have when we finally release it into the wild. You'll hear about the rest of them in episodes staggered over the coming few months.
We're getting really close, guys. And as I said at the beginning of the episode, make sure to follow me on Instagram and TikTok or join my email list so that you can stay updated on more feature announcements as well as important info that you'll need closer to the app launching.
Every decision I'm making as I build this app is being informed by the feedback I've heard from you and the things that you've told me are important for the ways you implement these sound machines into your lives. So keep that feedback coming. I really am listening. All right, until next time. Cheers, guys.
