Shownotes Transcript

Hey guys, it's Brandon, creator of your beloved 12-hour sound machines. When I started this podcast, I had no idea how much the world was asking for what I had just originally created for my newborn son. It became clear very quickly that he wasn't the only one struggling with sleep. More and more people started listening to the show, so I just kept producing new sounds to try and meet everyone's needs based on the feedback y'all were passing along.

Fast forward several years later, and the show is now the number one most listened to sound machine podcast in the world, reaching over 1.3 million unique listeners every week. Early in 2023, I began the process of brainstorming where this should all go, what I should do with it, and it became clear to me that the best next step was to build a mobile app that could eliminate the most common issues that people were having with the podcast feed,

as well as offer some really helpful new tools that would open doors for what people could do with these mixes. The app is coming very soon, more on that in a second, but I also knew that I had to create a more defined and articulate vision and branding for the content that I was creating. I came up with the name "12 Hour Sound Machines" and made the logo when I was literally publishing the first mix holding my crying baby late one sleep deprived night.

But these mixes are now enjoyed in over 160 countries around the world, downloaded over 250,000 times every day, and now passing a total download count of 190 million. I knew I needed to graduate past 12-hour sound machines at some point, but also wanted to be very thoughtful in determining what that would look like. Well today, I'm so excited to announce the new brand and share a bit more about where things are headed.

Let me first say that absolutely nothing is changing about the podcast, not even the name. It will remain 12-hour sound machines, no loops or fades, and you can still come here to get your favorite mixes for free, and I'll continue publishing new sound machines every week. But the brand that will be publishing that content, as well as launching the new app, will be called Dwellspring.

There's so much I could elaborate on regarding Dwellspring's mission, vision, and values. But honestly, the best way to learn more, if you're interested, is just to check out our new website that is officially launching today. Go to dwellspring.io. So that's D-W-E-L-L-S-P-R-I-N-G dot I-O. The URL and link to the website are also in the show notes.

and go ahead and poke around to read more about Dwellspring, as well as get a much more detailed overview of the upcoming mobile app. So with the launch of the new site, I'm revealing several new features that I haven't yet announced on the show, and for the first time, you'll get to see screenshots of what the in-app experience will be like. This day has been a very long time coming, and I couldn't be more thrilled to give you a much fuller picture of what I've been building.

We are getting very close to the launch of the mobile app, so stay tuned to the podcast feed, join my email list from the site, and follow me on Instagram and TikTok, at dwellspring, so you don't miss a thing. For those of you who want nothing different and couldn't care less about what this brand is called, fear not, nothing is changing about the world-class sound machines that you've come to expect. Come to the podcast, hit play on your trusty mix, just like you always have.

But for those of you who are wanting more and are excited to explore what the new features and product offerings will allow you to do and create, check out the website and start digging in. We're just getting started. Looking forward to sharing more in the coming weeks and continuing on our restful journey together with Dwellspring. Until soon. Cheers, guys.
