It gives lifetime seats in their high court. The president with the comments at the LBJ Presidential Library in Austin, Texas, where he also marked 60 years since the signing of the Civil Rights Act. He also wants a code of ethics for the high court, and he's calling for Congress to draft an amendment that would make it clear there's no immunity for any crime a former president commits while in office in reaction to the court's decision on presidential immunity.
Former President Trump says if he's elected, those proposals won't happen. And he said Democrats have another plan. They want to pack the court. and battleground state governor joined another in Pennsylvania to campaign for Vice President Kamala Harris. Michigan's Gretchen Whitmer has publicly said she won't be on the ticket with Vice President Harris, but in Ambler, just outside Philadelphia, she focused on GOP VP nominee J.D. Vance. He does not see women as equals.
He does not want everyone to have a seat at the table. Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro, still on the VP's shortlist, took on former President Trump by evoking history. Because this is a nation.

The acting director of the Secret Service expected to appear before a House panel investigating the assassination attempt on former President Trump. The House voted to create the task force to investigate the shooting last week. Thirteen bipartisan members will investigate through early January.
Representative Mike Kelly chairs the inquiry. The shooting went down in his district. Senators want to understand how communication between local police and the Secret Service broke down. That will be a primary line of questioning for Acting Secret Service Director Roe.
The office of GOP Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley acquired pictures of texts between officers on the day of the shooting. One counter-sniper even took pictures of crooks. Fox's Chad Pergram on Capitol Hill. The FBI has not released a motive for the shooting.
McDonald's customers were pulling back in recent months, but the company sees business holding up this year. McDonald's sales declined globally in the recent quarter, its first drop in more than three years. McDonald's has been raising prices for the past two years to cover higher costs for ingredients and labor. That resulted in customers dining out less often. It was also impacted by the slower economic recovery in China and the Mideast conflict.
though McDonald's says the $5 meal launched in late June exceeded expectations. It's standing by its strategy of focusing on value, chicken, and loyalty members and believes this year will meet expectations.
Jenny Kosola, Fox News. At the box office this weekend, Deadpool and Wolverine tops the list, earning $205 million.
