And they said, you know, there was a lot of things that, you know, were harmful in her terms in California. But then, but then they say that that wasn't necessarily true, that the prosecution rate didn't change. I,

And you need to be asking the Lord, not necessarily like, like we have to do our civic responsibilities and all of those things, but you need to be asking the Lord, Lord,

Who am I in the midst of this? How can I partner with you in the midst of what's happening in the world? There are so many things that are out of my control that I can be overwhelmed or I can be laser focused on what you have called me to do. I don't know who you are and I don't know who I am talking to, but now is not the time to say someone else is going to do it. I'm going to sit back. There's nothing I can do.

Do you understand what I'm saying? Cue the organ. Listen, I am excited about this episode because it is a lot of me rambling. And I feel like the last few times that I've done podcasts, I have not been able to get on here and get on your nerves. And so we had a great look. It's good.

It's giving what needs to be gave. We had a great mind your business question and my girl sent in a video, which means that I actually get to hear someone else's voice. I get to see her and she had a phenomenal question, which I think really lends itself again to what's happening in the world. Especially if you are in spaces of faith that there have been so many people who have come out and they've either come out or they have been exposed as working through sin

or having lied and violated people in the past. It's a lot going on. And so she asked me a question about our public life versus our private life and like, what do we do? And I want to get into this question. I think it'll help you. Hey, Pastor Sarah, my name is Makayla. And before I let you mind my business, I first...

I first just wanted to give you your flowers and just say how amazing just like of a job you're doing at being that beacon of light to people. We thank you for your yes and how many doors it has unlocked in your life for God to preach sermons and speak to us through podcasts and everything else that, and books, of course, and everything else that you put out. I really just want to say thank you and recognize you for the woman of God you are. Before I jump into my question, which is this,

how do you work on your private self while remaining present with your public self? And so in that, I mean, like, how do you continue showing up, being present, maybe even being, like, in the public eye to an extent, but also...

Working on yourself, maintaining self-awareness, recognizing when there's a issue, maybe a heart issue, a mind issue, whatever kind of issue it is, and working through that in a healthy way in its entirety and not in something that's just like, oh, I spotted that as an issue, and then leaving it unresolved. You know what I'm saying? Actually doing the work, but...

but having to, you know, do the work, but also still tend to everything that's calling you. And then of course, boundaries come into play, but I just, I feel like it would be really interesting to kind of hear your answer to this. Um, as I feel that I personally am entering a season where I'm,

There are places and, you know, people and things where it's like, yes, it is time to show up. Like, it is time to strike. It is time to get to work. And I am so excited to do that. But at the same time, I do feel like I'm recognizing things in myself where it's like, oh, we need to work on that. Maybe we should sit down. Maybe we should this. Maybe we should do that.

But this season is not exactly presenting itself as an opportunity to sit down. And so I really would like to kind of like hear how to find the balance in that that is appropriate, you know, to continue to move forward and grow and not be stagnant and drained, if that makes sense. Michaela, first of all, can I say like you're my girl because you sent me a video. I love reading your letters, but I love seeing your face, hearing your voice. And so thank you so much for sending this question. I this is probably gonna be a long answer, but everything's fine. I really feel like this is such an important conversation for faith leaders to be having.

primarily because we see a lot of times in people of faith... Well, okay, let me not paint in broad strokes and let me be very clear. Whenever someone who's in faith has a fall or they take a step down, there's always this frustration because...

There's something that you're espousing publicly, but privately you were struggling. And one of the things that I have really asked God, especially as... I didn't start off with... The things you said about me in the beginning of the video are very kind, and I appreciate that. I really want to be a good steward of the influence God has given me. And when it became...

you know, undeniable that I wasn't just talking to myself when I wrote my blog, that there were people who were listening. And when I started sharing my messages as awkward and as different as it felt to what I had grown up listening to, what I heard from other people while I was preaching, you know, I kind of made this commitment to God that like, I will go

wherever you tell me to go and I will say whatever you tell me to say and I will do whatever you ask me to do.

as long as I can be honest about who I am and where I am. And I think that many times we get so caught up in other people's perspective of who we are or the expectation of who we think we should be based on the position that we're in, that we start living up to an expectation instead of carrying our authenticity.

I'm constantly qualifying what I do and qualifying how I show up because like, am I doing this because I think this is what is expected from me or is this honestly what I want to do? And there are moments where I'm only doing it because it's what's expected of me and I have to take on the responsibility of modifying that expectation to meet my reality or

or I inform those who I am serving in that moment or who are benefiting from me showing up for their expectation, but not my authenticity, that I am doing this for them. You know what I mean? Like this is something that I'm doing because I value a commitment that I've already made or I wanna serve you, but going forward, I may not be able to let this be a standard that you can continue to have for me and my existence because...

When we begin living up to the expectation of who we think we should be, we rob ourselves from asking the important question of like, who am I really? And if we're not asking who we are really, then we aren't seeing those areas of growth. And we start experiencing separation, anxiety. Oh gosh, I feel like there's like something on this.

separation anxiety because I am separated from who I am in my core so that I can show up for whoever you need me to be. And the separation anxiety needs to be soothed. And that soothing comes from

Sometimes they're poor choices. Sometimes it's drinking. Sometimes it's sex and sometimes it's smoking. This is my perspective. I've grown up in church. We've had the opportunity to serve a lot of people who live in the spotlight. And I think the more demand that is placed on this image of who you are, the more separated you become from the reality of who you are. And so one of the ways that I try to be intentional about

staying connected to my core is taking time away when I need it. It's summertime. Like I had this incredible blessed launching of this book, Power Moves, and there was a lot of success. I think like secular success connected to it or success in the way that the world defines it, but it came at the expense of my soul,

literally just being empty. I want to say that I started full, but I know for sure that I ended empty. And if I say, well, hey, I got the trophy, nothing else matters, then that separation takes place even more. And so this summer, I've really spent a lot of time reclaiming my power, reclaiming my joy, reminding myself that those things were beautiful in the moment, they don't really matter.

Like what really matters is the message that God gave me, my prayer for transformation connected to those things, the fruit of that happening in someone else's life, the obedience. So reclaiming my power because I don't want to think that I am my titles. And so I will tell you that part of the way that I do that, because this is what you asked me, I'm going around the bush, but we're going around the mountain.

and we'll be going around the mountain when we come. You understand what I'm saying? No, everything's fine. Keep trucking with me. So part of the way that I do that is,

And maintaining the responsibility that I do have in serving other people and showing up, but also nurturing my own growth and development is when I record one. So that's reclaiming my power, reclaiming my time. Who are you? What are the expectations? What's true for you? In that place of intimacy, in that place of prayer, in that place of God showing me myself, God clean my heart. I see...

Many times I see a lot of areas for growth. You know, I'm going to write a note because there's something I want to share with y'all later on in this episode about something God highlighted for me and I'm going to just need y'all to pray for me. Okay, so I will say that when those things are highlighted, the hardest thing for me to do, I'm going to keep it a stack with you. The hardest thing for me to do is to share with even my husband that

the area that has been highlighted where I need to grow. It is so much easier to see our deformity and secrecy, but the power of trusted accountability allows us to not hide that area where we need growth.

And when we don't hide that area where we need growth, we have somewhere to go when we feel ourselves struggling, when we see ourselves slipping into a pattern that couldn't be healthy. But as long as you are keeping it to yourself within yourself, it becomes easier to hide. And I think the more that it hides, the easier it is to make decisions from that place of hiding. Yeah.

So I'm really careful about stuff I be seeing on the internet and whether or not it's true and where it came from. So I probably won't even go into that. I've seen a lot of stuff about like shadow work, shadow work, but I plead the blood Jesus. I don't know what that means, but I mean, I do a little bit, but it's like when you do not take care of this part of you that exists in the dark, then that part shows up some kind of way in this

area where you are living on stage, living on a light, even if that stage is not an actual stage or platform in which I often do, but like the stage that has been set for your life. I think that's what it means. I plead the blood of Jesus. If that's not what it means, Lord, correct me, fix me, change me. I will correct this. I'm going to Google it and then I'll fix it if I inject it up. But

Don't allow the areas where you need to experience growth to live in the dark. If you have the opportunity to have accountability where you can say, you know what, the Lord is really working on me in this specific area, seek that accountability. That's the first thing I will say. Don't live with that problem on your own. Like I'm struggling with addiction. I'm struggling with negative self-talk. And there are moments sometimes, I told my husband, I'm

I really be rambling on this podcast, but I was sharing with my husband an observation I made about myself and I will break it down later. But yeah,

when I had a moment where I was like, you know what? Like I am feeling that same sense, that same unhealthy response, unhealthy reaction whenever X, Y, and Z occurs. And I could go to him and tell him that, like I just saw a post and my initial reaction was cringing when I know I should have been happy. There was nothing wrong with the post, but I'm experiencing a cringe when that happens because I wanna talk out what's living inside of me.

And so that is one thing I will say, seeking accountability. If you don't have accountability, be accountable to yourself. Write down the moments where you're experiencing that temptation and make it a point of your real prayer. Fasting is incredible when it comes to this, because when you fast, we're breaking something off of our systems. We're refocusing, recentering.

on where we want to be. Fasting is like putting a target on that area of development and saying, God, I am eliminating X, Y, and Z out of my life so that I can focus intentionally on the area of growth where I want to see development. So I'll say seek accountability.

And then I will also say this, our job is not to lead people to ourselves. Our job is not to make ourselves a God. And so if there is an area of your life where you are experiencing development while you're also showing up for other people to the extent that it is appropriate,

I think that you can allow people in on that. Part of what I try to do when leading and the hardest person to see is yourself, and I may not be hitting this mark all of the time, but one of the things I try to do is to say like, man, I was going through a depression or the Lord has been dealing with me about X, Y, and Z. I try to let you know that the message that I have received

This time in my life, I'm growing in this specific area. It's not just about accountability. It's also letting them know like I am showing up for you, but I'm also growing myself because I don't need you to believe that I'm superhuman. I don't want you to believe...

that I have it all together. I want you to be able to honor what God is doing in my life and to allow it to inform what is possible for your life. But I also want you to understand that he's still challenging me and he's still allowing me to grow. I was thinking about how this would apply for someone who's not necessarily in ministry. Maybe you are...

working in a corporate space and you've noticed some areas of professional development for your role while you're also leading a team, what does it look like to still continue to show up in the areas where you are excelling while also being intentional about the areas where you're developing? I think that it's talking to your superior or talking to your coworkers or counterparts,

Once again, when it is appropriate about, you know, that's actually an area that I've been working on when it comes to my email responses, when it comes to my empathy, when dealing with crises that my team members may possess. I've been working on making sure that I am coming off as more empathetic. I've identified that as an area of growth. How did I do when I handled X, Y, and Z? Or, you know what I mean? Just beating them to the point because...

In our professional environments, they are evaluating us. They are evaluating the way we show up and we can put our game face on and be invincible or...

so resilient that it seems like we don't have any areas or we can dare to be honest and transparent about like, though I hit the mark here, there are a few areas where I think I can do better next time. And to own that with humility and strength and courage to not self-deprecate in the process of doing it, but to acknowledge like, as good as that was, there is an area that I want to work on next time and letting that be a part of what they receive from you as well.

So I hope that that is helpful for you. I'm really glad you asked this question. It's something that I wrestle with quite a bit, especially as a person of faith who is absolutely in love with Jesus, who is being guided and transformed each day by the Holy Spirit. I don't wanna be the goal. I wanna be the coach when necessary. I wanna be the teammate when necessary.

But I do not want to be the goal. I always want people to recognize that God is still working on me, but I also have to have wisdom and discretion because I do have a private life and I'm not always wanting to share the full extent of my business. And the last thing I will say is this, that testimonies...

are only testimonies when we have victory. And oftentimes we want to tell our testimonies too prematurely. And I think the difference between privacy while you're going through the test and then the victory of being able to tell the test and the testimony is really important. And just having enough wisdom to know where you are in that process. If you haven't fully been delivered, if you haven't fully overcome, you can be private.

And privacy and secrecy are different. Privacy because the Lord is dealing with you about something and whether you have accountability that can handle it or it's just something that's happening between you and the Lord. Don't allow your privacy to become secrecy because you aren't actually dealing with it. Let it be privacy because you're in the middle of a process that eventually you want to share how God got the glory out of it. So,

It's hard for me when that happens. But the Lord really highlighted to me that when someone has left in a way that I perceive as dishonoring, it may not actually be dishonoring. And I don't even mean dishonoring of me. I just feel like it was dishonorable. Maybe they lied. Maybe they weren't as mature as they could have been. Instead of living

looking at that through a lens of compassion in the way that I know that I should. I just kind of like write them off and I really want to wish them the best in my heart. So my husband is really good at this. And I finally told him, because I was just like, you know, one of the things that I admire about you is that like when you

Someone does you dirty You forgive them and I can like forgive you like I feel like I can forgive you But not forget but my husband forgives in a way that it seems like he has forgotten Because I can forgive you and be like, you know what i'ma chop it up to the game. Everybody messes up. Everything is fine But to move into a space of i'm happy for you and I wish you well I don't have that in me and

It's not necessarily that I'm wishing the worst on you, but I don't necessarily want to see you do well. This is me being honest. I'm not saying that it's the best way to see things or the best way to be, but I'm going to be honest. I don't necessarily be wishing you well. Not the worst thing to happen. Like to see a post and you're like, oh my God, something big for it to be happy for you. Like I know how to be like, you know what, cool. But like to legitimately be happy for you. I don't know if I have that in me, but I want to have it in me because I am not responsible for, I don't want to be responsible for other people's destiny. upward mobility was if they had stayed or like the only way I want to see you win is if you're winning in the space that I wanted you to be in. Okay. So this is what I wrote in the car. Cause I was like worshiping and praying about this just earlier today. And I wrote sometimes God's plan and your plan are not the same. We know this, right? And your betrayal is someone else's blessing. Like maybe the way that someone betrayed you, Lord, help me to make this make sense. I don't even know. I'm still praying through this. Um,

maybe what you're calling betrayal, maybe what you're calling someone else's disloyalty was actually like the step that they needed to make in order for God to produce the good connected to their departure. So we talk about all things working together for the good of those who love the Lord are uncalled according to their purpose. Like people who love the Lord are sometimes immature. People who love the Lord don't often show up in the way that we need them to show up.

When we quote this scripture, we have to recognize that God is making all things work together for their good too. And just because they left you badly doesn't mean that God can't make things work together for their good. And I am asking God for the spiritual maturity to celebrate their good, even if it wasn't my bad. You know what I mean? And I just don't want to hold people to...

a negative experience that I have had with them while God is still performing a work inside of them. And I really felt like God was highlighting this as like a breeding ground for bitterness if I don't get it right. And I would have never considered this to be an area of bitterness because once again, it's not like I'm wishing harm on someone else, but I did recognize like I can't, I'm not able to be happy for them in the way that

I think heaven is happy for them. I'm not able to be happy for them when I see them walk into their destiny. And I want to be that way. So yeah. So anyways, I said, sometimes God's plan and your plan are not the same and you're a betrayal of someone else's blessing. I am learning to be loyal to God's plan and not becoming bitter and

to my plan and not becoming bitter because of a betrayal to my plan. Just because it betrayed my plan doesn't mean that it betrayed God's plan. Because oftentimes what I'm calling a betrayal to my plan was a step that God ordered for them to be removed out of my life, for them to move into God's plan for their life. And I think that there is this easy path of us separating

God's blessings or relegating God's blessings just to ourselves or becoming greedy about God's favor or greedy when it comes to God's grace. And the same grace that we so lavishly want to experience, that same forgiveness that we walk in when we see God's grace showing up in somebody's life who doesn't deserve it, who

who didn't earn it, who should have got what they deserve. And instead we see God's grace showing up in their lives to be able to celebrate God's grace on their life, regardless of what we may have thought they should have gotten or received. I think it's spiritual maturity and I'm working on that.

I ain't got it. I'm working on it. The fact that this has been highlighted is an area of development for me. So I guess you guys are now a part of my accountability circle as it relates to that. I don't think that there's any better example than Jesus being on the cross, beaten, bruised, wounded. Forgive them, Father, for they know not what they do. Like they were performing, they were executing God's plan, right?

by crucifying Jesus. They were doing what God needed them to do. However, that did not negate that them being obedient to what God wanted them to do inflicted pain on Jesus. And in that moment,

See, me couldn't be me because Lord, when you're Lord, do you pray to your Lord? I'd have been like, God, when I get resurrected, help me remember their faces. And that's not the heart of my Jesus. And I want to have the heart of my Jesus. Jesus was in the middle of pain, crucified, crucified.

humiliated, embarrassed, and still compassionate towards those who inflicted pain on him because sometimes God's plan feels like our betrayal. And the only reason that we can reconcile that is if we trust that that betrayal is not denial, that that betrayal is not eternal rejection, that

God's going to restore and order our steps in the same way that he's doing for those who are moving in his plan. Does that make sense? Let's talk about it. And I am constantly looking for any root of bitterness, any seed of bitterness, because I really want my heart to be pure towards the Lord and towards those who I encounter. And so not penalizing people and remembering my own humility to not look at them from a space of pride. Like I'm just constantly seeking the Lord, you know, show me my heart, search me God so that I can grow and develop in that way. Yeah.

Because generational curses are real. What we normalize in our family, we may not see as a curse until we come to really be in relationship with the Lord. And when we are in relationship with the Lord, sometimes we recognize that what we have normalized is actually toxic. And when we recognize that what we have normalized is actually toxic, to say, you know what? I'm going to go about the work of

really cleansing myself and allowing the Holy Spirit to transform me is a part of breaking a generational curse. Dr. Cindy Trim is an incredible powerhouse. We were in Chicago for the Power Moves Tour. And well, let me rewind. I think I told you all this if you've been tracking with me on the podcast. We did the book tour. I had special guests in each city. And

And I really felt like God was telling me, no, I want you to do more, dig deeper. And God asked me to start praying into each city. And in Chicago, God told me that we were supposed to highlight the power to break generational curses.

And man, prayer, spiritual warfare. Dr. Cindy Trim is a general in the faith. She is a giant, a warrior, a queen. And when God highlighted that for Chicago, I felt like that made perfect sense because of what she has come to represent for us.

the nations, literally the nations in empowerment and spiritual development. And so we had a powerful conversation about breaking generational curses. I feel like it's something that you should listen, that you should be willing to, um,

add into your own prayer and meditation what part of this is meant for me. How can I pray into other people who are on this journey? She's a speaker. She's an author. She is an advocate. All of her speaking has this humor, compassion, but still revelatory insight. And she's got her own personal candor. She tells her story with such courage and resiliency that it inspires those of us who are still healing to tap into that.

Chicago was when I was like, I can do this. Houston, I was like, I'm so nervous. Lord, I don't know what's going to happen. When we got finished in Chicago, I was like,

God, I feel your presence. I feel your grace. This matters. This matters for what you're doing in the earth. And I want to partner with you to get it done. So I can't wait to allow you to experience the reverberation of what took place. I'm so honored you're here. Thank you so, so much.

Man, when I think about power and authority and just someone who runs up on the devil even in their sleep, because honey, we be playing your tapes over and over again to get us through difficult seasons. Your name comes to mind.

Can you just tell me, what do you even think about this concept of our power being clamped down by generational curses, mindsets, and experiences that have clamped our flow? And a lot of times, you know, I've been listening to you, and firstly, thank you for having me. And this is what power looks like. And power is courage.

Because in a world that continues to tell you to be somebody else, it takes a lot of courage to be yourself. And I think, you know, when I wrote those prayers, the Lord really opened up the realm of the Spirit and began to show me the forces that we were working against and the power we had to overcome them. And it started with prayer. And I think...

Making your move is different from making a move. It's something that you own. And just to give you a sound bite, you cannot outperform your current concept of self nor rise above the level of your self-worth. Can you say that again? You cannot outperform your current concept of self nor rise above the level of your self-worth.

So everything that we want lies on the inside of us and not on the outside of us. And we're reaching on the outside. That's why we're losing our power. And, you know, there's this saying, and I had problems with this particular saying, all things work together for good. And when I was preparing for this and when I was asking God, okay, what do you want me to say that the ladies can take away from

to understand what God had placed in your heart with this book. And God began to show me a misunderstanding of that scripture, that all things work together. And God said to me, God does not, he said, Cindy, I don't have to borrow materials from Satan's agenda to cause you to succeed.

And the things that work together is not what happened to you. It's not the rejection. It's not the rape. It's not the abuse. It's not the abandonment. It's not the divorce. It's what he's placed on the inside of you. And if you can connect with that, that's your power source. That's your superpower. And so you start with knowing where you come from.

And when we talk about generational curses, generational curses are carried down intergenerational. And the best story I can come up with was Ruth and Boaz to talk about the generational curses because that's in the first book that you wrote. You wrote about Ruth. And Ruth was a Moabite.

And the word Moabite means of my father or produced by my father. It simply means that there was a generational curse of incest that was passed down within her genes, generation after generation. So that's Ruth. Ruth gets this opportunity to marry and her husband actually dies.

And her mother-in-law has the same experience. And her mother-in-law is very bitter because she doesn't understand how she can lose her husband, how she can lose her two sons. She says, "I'm going back to Bethlehem." That's a zip code. I discovered that purpose hides out in very strange places. For Rahab, it was in the red light district. For David,

It was being abandoned by his mother and rejected by his brother. For Joseph, it was in prison. For people like Gandhi and Martin Luther King, purpose hides in strange places. It can be frustrated, but it cannot be stopped. And that purpose is actually downloaded into your DNA. And it's the work of the Holy Spirit to just upload it

and you have a feeling, you get this feeling, or it's a desire that has no articulation because it comes from the whispers of the Spirit. And God whispers it in your ear loud enough for you to hear. And so with Ruth, she has this opportunity and she makes a decision. Your destiny comes to you at the speed of a decision, not someone else's decision, but your decision.

And so there's a scripture that says, "Many are called, few are chosen, "and the chosen do the choosing." You choose it. So when it comes to generational curses, your past does not dictate to your future. And your feet will never take you where your mind has never been. And so what God would do is give you a vision that is attached to something he downloaded into your spirit.

When he led 23 chromosomes from your father and it collided with 23 chromosomes with your mother, the day that you were conceived, you were unstoppable. But between the ages of zero and six, you learn to not listen to yourself. And so by the time we get six, we suffer from this amnesia. I call it spiritual amnesia.

Because you were given permission to be great at conception. And everything that you needed was given to you at conception. And there's no such thing as a mistake. And even if your mother didn't want you and your father didn't want you, God wanted you. And that's all that matters. And so if you think about how powerful we are, there were a half a million other yous swimming that day.

And you out swam them all. And you had no eyes, no ears, no brain, no feet, no leg, no lung, no... You had nothing but purpose swimming.

Guiding you and if you can out swim a hundred five hundred thousand other use without hands and feet and legs and a brain Imagine what you could do now that you are born so the devil should Stop you at conception But now it's too late. And so I love the title of the book so much Make your move

Not her move or someone else's move. You got to take ownership of that. And that's what Ruth did. She had an opportunity. She made a decision. There's this generational curse of incest. She shows up at a particular zip code. And if you haven't read Pastor Sarah's first book, you got to read it.

And so she shows up and she's being paid under the, 'cause she's an immigrant, so she's being paid under the table. And she's working in this field and all of the other women are compromising their standard. But she just fell in love with the God of Naomi.

And here is Ruth working hard as an immigrant in an unknown country. Nobody knows her. And then she's introduced to Boaz. And it's interesting what happens after that because Boaz has a jagged past. His mother was a prostitute. So it seems like, I mean, this is an accident ready to happen. Here's this man from a prostitute and a woman from incest. This can't work.

but they have God as in the center of the equation. So somewhere his mother connected with God and they come together and he asks her a question. What is your name? She said, my name is Ruth, thy handmaiden. In other words, don't confuse what I do with who I am. And a lot of times when we're making a move, we look at a career as opposed to our calling.

A career is what you're paid for, but your calling is what you're made for. And so when we talk about the whole idea of generational curses, and then I'm finishing my statement. When we think of generational curses, a generational curse is no match for purpose and no match for identity.

I spend a lot of time in the book trying to help people figure out what their truth is. A lot of times we don't want to embrace our truth because we're like, but what if it's wrong? What if it's not God's truth? What if it changes? But if we can just start with where you are

so that you have something to present to God. God will be able to filter what we need to keep, what we need to change, what trauma dropped off, but we have to have that starting place of truth. Who are you now? Where are you now? I love what you said about during the age between zero and six that we were born unstoppable, but then we started receiving all of these different messages that made us uncomfortable being ourselves.

And even while you were speaking, I felt like someone needs to understand that power can also move backwards to get you back to that place of being unstoppable, the place that God had in mind when you were formed from zero to six. I'm wondering, well, it sounds like you got that in the spirit realm, but for someone who's here and they're thinking to themselves, that may have been true.

but I'm not in that range anymore and I can't go back there, what would you say to them? Well, there's a difference between truth and a testimony. Mm.

You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free. So that goes back that it is God that works in you both to willing to do of his good pleasure. And we have this treasure in earthen vessels. So I was listening to you backstage and you began to talk about Adam and Eve and they came out of the dirt. There's dirt around every treasure.

And what the devil wants to do is to keep you focused on the dirt and not on the treasure. And all of us have a history, but our history is not the same thing as destiny. And your past has nothing new to say to you, so stop listening. Your calling is calling you. And you cannot go back to an old beginning to have a new start. But you could start now to have a new beginning.

And truth, you have to ask, well, truth about what? We're not going back to a testimony. And if you just give me three minutes, I can explain this. Everything that happens to your life happens as a result of your own thinking. As a man thinketh, as a woman thinketh in her own heart, so is she. You go back and you look at the story in the book of Chronicles at Jabez. And his mother named him after pain.

So every time she called his name, she was really saying, "You're a pain in the behind, "and you remind me of pain, "and all you're gonna have is pain." That's all she was saying to him. But one day he had a conversation with God, and God revealed to him who he was, revealed his truth.

and he stood in his truth, and then he formed his petition, a prayer petition. Oh, that thou would bless me indeed, that you would enlarge my coast, that your hand will be upon me, that it will not grieve me, and that I will not live in sorrow for the rest of my life. And God granted him his request. Where did he get the prayer material from? Why would he pray that? All of his life, his mother, his environment,

And his mother was saying, you're going to be a product of your environment. You are always going to live in pain. Just imagine that being told you since you were born. How did he break that one conversation with God? And I call it the God whispers. I grew up in abject poverty. And I just started to share this this year. I'm a product of violent rape. My father raped my mother. And I'm a product of it. And...

That's trauma. So where is trauma held? It's held in your neurotransmitters. And it's held as memory. All trauma is held as memory. And I began to understand. I studied. I'm a psychotherapist. My master's degree is in psychotherapy. So I had a practice. But this is just by revelation and an understanding of how the brain works very quickly. So 5% of what you do is conscious practice.

95% of what you do is subconscious or unconscious. So it's like everything is stacked up against us. But here's the caveat. The 5% of your behavior also creates the 95% of the activities in your unconscious mind.

So that means 100% of what's going on is held in your mind, but watch this, it's only held in 10% of your brain's capacity, 10%. You've got 90% of your brain that's never been hurt, never been abused, never been traumatized, never, never.

Every day you could wake up, you could sit in therapy for the rest of your life, dealing with that 10%, rewiring that 10%. Or you can embrace what God said, behold, I do a new thing. You got 90% of your brain that can be activated. And so when I discovered that, I was eight years old.

And we grew up in abject poverty. Abject, we ran out of water, we ran out of food, we ran out of everything. People think that once they see you here, that you didn't have to go through what they went through. But if I tell my story, everybody would be crying except me, because there's nothing to cry about. That's only held in 10%. I'm firing up the 90%. How do you fire it up?

You know therapy is only 10% of the work. What are you going to do with the 90%? Fire it up. How do you fire it up? With a vision. Give God something to work with because if it's not clear to you, it'll never be there for you. And if you want to see it in your future, dream about it today. And that's the power of a vision.

And so at eight years old, eight years old I started my first business. I've been a business owner since I was eight years old. At 12 years old, I was financially responsible for myself, 'cause there was no money in the house. At 17, I made the Guinness Book of Records. At 19, I was advising government. And at 30, I was running my country.

It's all about, you could spend the rest of your life trying to figure out why did my father do this and I'm a victim of circumstance but the devil is a liar. Where is the generational curse held in that 10%? You got 90% that you can fire up. So your choice every single day is do I rewire or do I fire? Do I set this part on fire?

And that's why, that's why again I'm overemphasizing this. Make your move. It's not your mother's move, your father's, your community's, your uncle, your frenemy, your enemy. This is your life and only you can live it. There is no one else that can live your life but you. And you can color it the way that you want to color it. You are...

Listen, human beings are the only ones that can be anything they want to be. A giraffe can't do it, a donkey can't do it, a cat can't do it. Only human beings. What do you want? What do you want? Not what you need, 'cause need connects you to lack. Want connects you to abundance.

John chapter 5, Jesus walks into a community that was plagued with generational curses. The Bible said they were blind, halted, withered, and waiting. Blind, no vision. Halted, stuck, withered, regressing, and waiting. And Jesus walked in, and there was a man that was paralytic for 38 years. He didn't give him a wheelchair.

He didn't give him a cane. He didn't give him money. He gave him an opportunity to think for himself. What do you want? That's what he asked him. What do you want? What do you want? What do you want? Well, every time I try to go to this little water, somebody gets in my way. No, no, no. I'm not asking you what's happening to you. What's happening in you? Do you have a dream? What do you want? What do you want? Then finally he gave him a word.

What you're looking for is a word. This book is important. Read it from cover to cover. You need a word. So he gave him a word. Pick up your bed and walk. Do you know what that means? He was never lame. He was lazy. And Jesus said, make your move.

You make your move Based on what you want. How do we know he was trying to activate this 90% of his brain? He said take up your bed. What does the bed? What is a bed symbolic off? It's symbolic of 38 years of dreaming and Jesus said then put feet to your dream so his miracle didn't happen on the porch and

It happened walking away from the porch. And there were some things that you have to walk away from.

We're waiting for a miracle, but you've got the power. Pastor Sarah said, you have the power. You've got to take your personal power back. Stop giving it to things and people and your past. Take your personal power back. Show up in the room and own the room. God has a space for you. God has a place for you. God has a race for you. God has a grace for you. And you've got to believe it. Only you believe.

You can occupy your space. Only you can take your place. Only you can run your race. You are not competing with anybody else. Someone else would have to be born on the same day, the same time, with the same genetic blueprint. You are uniquely you. There is nobody else that can be you. And the next best version of yourself is about to dawn. Every year on your birthday,

God introduces you to the next iteration of you. And the only thing you have to do is give up the old and embrace the new. Does it? Make your move. I want you to pray over somebody in this room who has decided that they are getting ready to start firing again. They have decided that they're getting ready to make the greatest power

that they have ever made in their life. This is not everybody's prayer, but this is somebody's prayer. There's somebody who has decided, I'm getting ready to possess my power

And when I take my seat, every devil in hell is going to be under my feet. This is not everybody's prayer. This is a prayer for somebody who has been stuck for too long. And I cannot let you leave this place without releasing a wind that will move them in positions. Our Father God, we thank you right now for this moment. We thank you for the vision that you gave Pastor Sarah when she wrote this book.

And I pray, Father, that every word leaps off of the book and those words will become weapons of warfare. I decree and declare now, Father, every woman that is standing, every woman that is sitting will connect with their truth and not with their testimony.

They will connect with the truth about their identity, the truth about their purpose, the truth about their future, the truth about their assignment, the truth about their destiny, the truth about their heritage, the truth about their inheritance, the truth about their legacy. For greater is he that is in them than he that is in the world. We have this treasure in earthen vessels.

Just like Ruth walked away from something because you gave an open door, an opportunity for her first to know who you were and then to know who she was. I pray tonight that when women go to bed, you will whisper in their spirit and they will wake up

in the morning with a new pep in their stack with a new understanding of who they are I decree and declare right now curses are being broken whether they were word curses or generational curses or even internal dialogue that they spoke to themselves and with those doors open I decree and declare that no woman will suffer from a feeling of

insecurity because she's comparing her life with someone else I decree and declare you will show her the blueprint that is downloaded in her DNA and she would only compare her life with what you revealed to her let them have a Jacob experience were you sent to Jacob you are no longer

the Jacob but you are Israel you have favor with God and man I declare that we're father there was a stigma attached to their name whether it's their family name like Ruth or whether it's something that their mother of

I decree and declare. The stigma is removed. And you are rebranding them. You rebranded Sarai. And called her Sarah. You rebranded Abram. And called him Abraham. I decree and declare. You are rebranding every woman. And people that are their last season. Forced to look up in this season. I decree and declare.

out of this place they are going to collide with destiny I decree Holy Spirit now hallelujah you are visiting every woman from the crown of their head to the soul of their feet I declare a divine

divine visitation that the anointing will break yoke. Father, I decree and declare you will partition, hallelujah, from our lives, areas in our brain, the memories that are held by our brain connection. I

decree and declare that there is a partition that is going on in the 10% and you are firing up the 90%. You said behold I will do a new thing. Let today the new thing begin. Give us new opportunities. Give us new doors. Give us a new day.

name. Give us, Father, a new understanding of who we are. I decree and declare all the things are passed away. All things become new. Now, Father, as we raise our hands, we say not our will, but

thy will be done I decree that every woman is being empowered with that and the anointing that not only breaks yokes but empowers them to make power moves I decree they are moving out of relationships that are no longer serving them they are moving out of individuals

Hallelujah that has kept them bound. They are moving out of relationships where they are compromising their Christian values. Father they're making the move. They are putting down the pipe. They are putting down the drugs. They are putting down alcohol. And Father I decree and declare that each woman now is introduced to the one.

the woman that is the Proverbs 31 woman. Multi-faceted, multi-talented, that can hold down a career, that can hold down a family, that can hold down a marriage. I decree and declare like the woman in Revelation 12 that is described as a wonder woman. I decree everyone

woman is anointed to defy the attack of the enemy no weapon formed against you will prosper no social weapon no cultural weapon no

addictive weapon no molestating weapon no abusive weapon no perverted weapon no poverty weapon no weapon of sickness no weapon of disease no weapon of depression no weapon of illness i decree whatever weapon has been formed

against you is now powerless hallelujah I decree who the son sets free is free indeed you are free your daughter is free your husband is free your son is free your family is free your mother is free your father

Father is free. Your community is free. I decree and declare a new freedom has come to you. And after today, you will not ask permission to make your move. I decree you will put one foot in front of the other. You will refuse to ask permission. Permission was granted to you the day that you were conceived. Now, Father, we pray for a special anointing

anointing that makes life easy and that you will connect us to your original plan and purpose for our lives and that you would have the ability that we give you to whisper in our ears so that we too can know who we are and why we are now unto him who is able to do the exceeding abundantly above all we can ask or think it's according to the power of

that works in you. In Jesus' name, amen. Amen. I am beyond grateful that this podcast is going to exist for people

As long as technology allows, because I believe that that conversation, that prayer specifically is something that you should play over and over again. Go back and mark the moment where the prayer begins so that you know exactly where to scrub through in those moments where you just need someone else to partner with you to add their faith to yours.

in the area where you are seeking the Lord for breakthrough. Here I am telling you my business and the areas where I know I need more development and growth. And because we're always in this thing together, I know that there's probably an area that has been highlighted for you as well. And so I am asking that Holy Spirit, that the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob

the God of generations would reveal the generational power to break through that is available to us. I'm praying that it will be like a well that springs up, that you will be the well to

that springs up in your family that they didn't even know that there was water running underneath the ground, water to drown that generational curse, water to get out of that drought of despair, to get out of that drought of bitterness. But you will be the well that says there is water available to our family. We don't have to live in this drought any longer. And so I am praying for supernatural strength

supernatural breakthrough, supernatural courage, that you would allow God to order your steps in the direction of the territory that has your name on it and that you would dare to take up space because if you don't, the enemy will claim that territory. You are a territory. Take up your space and do it so that the generations can see that

What God marks as yours can be tapped into at any given moment that you're willing to say, I surrender all. And then I pray that you do it with joy. I love you. I love this podcast. I love what God is doing in our hearts and in our lives. It is the greatest privilege of my life to grow with you. Thank you for receiving me crazy and all. I pray that you feel a little less alone.
