When I started podcasting, an online store was the furthest thing from my mind. Now I'm selling my group coaching on the regular and it is just so easy all because I use Shopify.
Welcome back. I'm so glad you're back with me this week. Okay. Well,
I'm actually recording this on Easter Sunday and I'm just about to go to church and I'm kind of bump was I wanted to give you the message from church because I know it's going to be so incredible. You can always see my church online. Voo Church, V-O-U-S, literally the best message, uplifting, encouraging.
It's so beautiful, and today is going to be spectacular because it's Easter and the resurrection of Jesus Christ, and there's so much power and beauty in the message that I'm getting here today. I know it, so check it out online because it's going to be incredible. I can't wait. I'm so bummed, but I literally won't get home until like 9 o'clock tonight, so I wouldn't be able to record this later because this cat's got to get ready for bed, but...
Big week this week. Big week. Major things happening. And I'm super, super excited about it. I hope you have some major things happening in your week this week. Okay. So here's the thing is...
The unexpected is so real. We never know what's going to happen next. And it's so crazy. A friend of mine happens to be out in Palm Beach on vacation this weekend with her family. And she just messaged me. She just ran into Tony Robbins. It's so funny. You just never know what's going to happen next. You never know who you're going to meet next.
The unexpected is always happening. I'm sure there are plenty of people that did not think Jesus Christ was going to be resurrected on the third day. Hello, it happened, right? So here's the thing. You can't predict the future. You can't base what is going to happen tomorrow on what happened yesterday. Things are always changing. Possibilities are always being created differently.
opportunities are limitless. We have no idea what's about to happen next. When everything is uncertain, anything is possible. It's so exciting, right? I get so fired up about this. I get super excited. Okay, so there was a few things I wanted to get into today. They're kind of all over the place, but each one of them spoke to me. So I want to share them with you because I always feel like messages are given to me to give to you. Okay, so on social media this week, somehow I ran into a video of Kobe Bryant
was on a talk show and he was talking about a post that he had put up on Facebook. I found it. I went and found it for you and I'm going to read it to you. It's April 13th, 2013. Oh my gosh. More than a decade ago. Kobe Bryant's page. Okay. This is such BS. This is him writing all the training and sacrifice just flew out the window with one step that I've done millions of times. The frustration unbearable. Anger is rage unbearable.
Why the hell did this happen? Makes no damn sense. Now I'm supposed to come back from this and be the same player or better at 35? How in the world am I supposed to do that? I have no clue. Do I have the consistent will to overcome this thing? Question mark.
Maybe I should break out the rocking chair and reminisce on a career that was. Maybe this is how my book ends. Maybe father time has defeated me. Then again, maybe not. It's 3.30 a.m. My foot feels like dead weight. My head is spinning from the pain meds, and I'm wide awake. Forgive my venting, but what's the purpose of social media now?
if i won't bring it to you real no image feels good to vent let it out to feel as if this is the worst thing ever because after all the venting a real perspective sets in there are far greater issues and challenges in the world than a torn achilles stop feeling sorry for yourself and find the silver lining and get back to work with the same belief same drive and same conviction as ever one day the beginning of a new career journey will commence today is not that day
If you see me in a fight with a bear, pray for the bear. I've always loved that quote.
That's Mamba mentality. We don't quit. We don't cower. We don't run. We endure and conquer. I know it's a long post, but I'm Facebook venting, lol. Maybe now I can actually get some sleep and be excited for my surgery tomorrow. First step of a new challenge. Guess I will be Coach Vino the rest of the season. I have faith in my teammates. They will come through. Thank you for all your prayers and support. Much love always. Mamba out. Oh, I could cry from that. That is...
So beautiful. And I'm not like some wild Kobe fan. He's got millions of fans out there. He's not my guy. I didn't follow him or whatever. Obviously, I know who he is. But I just really loved that post. I just thought, wow, we've all been there. There's always a reason to be discouraged. Just like there's always a reason to feel grateful, right? Like it just...
depends where you want to look. And obviously in his situation, being injured as a professional athlete is pretty much, you know, it's right there, like with some of the worst things that could happen to you. And of course your mind goes to the worst. I'm never going to be good again. I'm never going to recover. I'm never going to write all these. Never like we don't know. The thing is, we don't know. And he certainly didn't know what was to come in his life and that his life would be cut so short. Like he had no idea. Like none of us did. It just,
The future is unknown. And when we get down, which we will, just like Kobe did in this situation, everybody does. There's plenty of things will happen that they don't seem ideal. I should say they don't seem ideal.
It's on us to find ways to turn those situations around and find a silver lining. He really seemed to do that. He chose to do it through venting. Everybody has different ways to manage hard times. For me, going to church is definitely prayer, faith, church, community. That's definitely one of the ways I manage hard times without a doubt. You know,
Another way for me is I live on the water and I just, I love being outside in Miami. It's so beautiful. I feel so grateful all the time to live in the most beautiful place in the world. That's important to me, right? And everybody has their own different...
thing is, you know, some people have pets and being around their pets make them so happy. Right? Like you've got to figure out what your thing is. Practice gratitude, get a gratitude journal, write down things you're grateful for. Like these things help you shift. To me, again, I'm going to say it again, faith, prayer, Jesus, my church, right? Like all of these things have added so much value to my life and have helped me to turn negative situations into positive ones. Meet a different guest each week. What do you know about the church?

We're all going to face tough times. We're all going to have struggles. Things aren't always going to seem to go perfectly, but it's what we focus on and how we choose to overcome them. And I just like this example that Kobe gave us that for him, it was venting. That day he needed to vent and he felt better and maybe that he'd be able to get some sleep and then maybe he'd feel better the next day. And then he had the surgery and then he got, he did get better and then he did heal and he did play again. Right. And he didn't know. And so I think it's important to think about that.
You don't know what is going to happen next. That is the beauty. That's why it's exciting to get up every single day. I'm super excited for this week ahead. There are some really big things happening. I'm fired up. I can't wait. I'm like on the edge of my seat. I'm really excited. And I never knew any of these things were going to be happening before. Right. So you kind of have to step into that uncertainty, step into that unknown and start celebrating it for all the potential and possibility that could be.
That's really exciting. Okay. So I love that. And my favorite line out of this, which I'm never going to forget now, if you see me in a fight with a bear, pray for the bear. I love that quote. I am like, I'm so here for that. I love that. Love, love, love. Okay. So as I mentioned, faith is important to me. There is a book that I read daily. It's a daily prayer book. It's called Jesus Calling. And it's a book that I read daily.
And literally there's a message for you every single day. I'm going to read the message from today because I love it. And it just puts me in a good spirit. It shifts my perspective. First thing in the morning when I wake up, I read this every day. And I share it on my social media, a lot of my Instagram stories.
Taste and see that I am good. The more intimately you experience me, the more convinced you become of my goodness. I am the living one who sees you and longs to participate in your life. I am training you to find me in each moment and to be a channel of my loving presence. Sometimes my blessings come to you in mysterious ways, through pain and trouble. At such times, you can know my goodness only through your trust in me. Understanding will fail you, but trust will keep you close to me.
Thank me for the gift of my peace, a gift of such immense proportions that you cannot fathom its depth or breadth. When I appeared to my disciples after the resurrection, it was peace that I communicated, first of all. I knew this was their deepest need, to calm their fears and clear their minds."
I also speak peace to you, for I know your anxious thoughts. Listen to me. Tune out other voices so that you can hear me more clearly. I designed you to dwell in peace all day, every day. Draw near to me, receive my peace.
Isn't that beautiful? Like I just, it's so beautiful. Like there's nothing bad about that, right? We are constantly being fed messages that we choose to receive or that we allow to be pushed into our lives. That's through social media, the podcast you listen to, the books you consume, the news, the TV, the people you talk to, the people you spend your time with, the jobs that you hold, who you work with, like all these people influence your day and your thoughts and
And to me, I want to be really curated and intentional about what thoughts I let into my mind. So starting my day with a message like that is really helpful and powerful. How do you start your day? Right. Like I pray first. I read my daily devotional. These things set my day up for success. And listen, nothing always goes seamlessly perfect. Right. That just doesn't happen.
However, we are in charge of a lot of the messaging, a lot of the things that do happen in our day. If we work out, if we go outside, who we spend time with, right? Like,
Then there's plenty of times that you're on a plane and rushing in late to get to a meeting and you feel like you aren't in control of a lot of things. And that's okay. Things aren't always going to go perfectly or ideally, but in the moments and the times that you can be intentional and design it, be thoughtful about it. Be thoughtful. What are you feeding yourself? What message are you feeding yourself? And are you setting yourself up for success today and every day?
Gosh knows I'm trying. I am really trying. Okay, so this is wild. I read a lot. I read a lot because, as you know, I have a lot of people on the show and people are always writing books. And, you know, one of the ways that we learn is through reading, right? It's so helpful to understand and learn from others. So this is so bizarre. I don't know if I told you this a couple weeks ago, but right before I was leaving for Saudi Arabia, a woman, a great woman who I adore, had sent me a text and said, I think you need to get this book.
And if someone says that to me, I'm going to get it, right? Like if it's someone that I care about because they're looking out for me, they have my best interest at heart. So I said, okay, I'll get it. It's called Hiring the Heavens by Jean Slatter. It's a very little book, very easy read. You can read it in an hour, right? It's a very, it's practical guide to developing working relationships with the spirits of creation. Now, I understand that sounds a little weird. I was like, what is this? Okay, I'll get it. But sounds a little cuckoo to me.
Anyhow, I'm going to give you the crux of it. Basically, this woman who has countless examples in her own life and so many people that she's taught and worked with, she's encouraging you and me to instead of just go it alone during your day, when you want something, let's say I want millions of podcast downloads, right? She's suggesting instead of like Googling what's the best way to market a podcast or promote it on social or who can I talk to that can help me, you know, whatever, she's
Instead of doing it the regular ways you would, her suggestion is to ask the heavens and hire an angel on your behalf to
To market the podcast. I know it sounds a little crazy, but if you get this book, you don't need to get the book, but I think you should. I love it. Hiring the heavens. It's so good. It's such an easy read. It's so uplifting. And who's to say it doesn't work, right? Like to me, there's nothing bad here, right? To ask God in the heavens for help. Yeah, I'm all in. I'll take any help I can get. I don't have this thing called life figured out, right? So if there's angels out there in the heavens that are available to help me, yep, I'm all in.
I'll take their help. Okay. So this is where it gets so wild. Two weeks before I left for Saudi, I got the book. I saw it and I was super busy and I was like, I don't have time to read this. Anyways, I picked it up and I read like the first 12 pages. I read to page 13 exactly. And how do I know that? Cause I started and I wrote all over it and it's so crazy. Okay. Cut to, so I read to page 13. I get busy. I move on. I forget about it. And I go to Saudi Arabia. I
I even think I brought this book with me to Saudi Arabia and I never read it. I was so busy out there. It was crazy. Oh gosh, the trip was so fun. It was amazing. Life changing. I can't even believe I'm saying that. Yet again, like totally unexpected. I would have never thought I'd be sitting here saying this right now, how much I loved it. And by the way, I just got an email from Saudi Arabia this week. The things that are going on is just wild. It's wild. Okay. Everything is possible. Anything is possible. Possibilities are limitless.
stay open-minded stay open to them i'm telling you there's miracles happening every day your life is one of them right and don't lose sight of that life is a miracle okay so anyhow so you get the gist of it right you hire these angels from heaven to work on your behalf with whatever it is you're working on i read to page 13 as i mentioned i marked it up i go on my trip i have an amazing trip i get home
I finally get back to the right time zone. That took a little bit of time. But once I did, I came across this book one day and I'm like, oh my gosh, I got this book before my trip and I never actually read it. Why don't I read it? So I sat down and I read the book. Wow. That's all I'm going to say. Wow. So, and again, listen, different messages land with different people at different times, right? This message might not land with you today. I don't know. But for me, it did. Okay. Here's why this is so wild. This is page 13 in the book.
Hiring the Heavens by Jean Slatter. It says, think heavens first. This is so crazy. On the physical plane, we always seem to be dealing with limited resources, not enough money, not enough time, not enough people or experts. If we switch our perception to the universe, restrictions just don't apply. So imagine that you have all the money, all the time, all the resources in the world to hire whatever kind of assistance your mind can come up with. Let's say you're planning a trip to another country. I underlined that.
I encourage you to think about the heavenly resource pool first and hire a spiritual travel agent and a spiritual activities coordinator to help make it the most enjoyable trip ever. But don't stop there. Remember, your invisible helpers can facilitate anything you think of. You can bring in a spiritual tour guide to show you around, a spiritual translator to bridge the language gap, and a spiritual comedian to make sure there's plenty of laughter during the trip.

I did that. So I have this all started up. This is the page I read to you guys. This is so crazy to me. It's so miraculous. It's incredible. I did exactly what she suggested us to do. I was leaving for a trip. I was leaving for another country, just like it said in the book. So I sat there and did exactly what she said. She said, hire a spiritual travel agent. So I said, angels, celestial angels, I would love to hire...
a spiritual travel agent for my trip to Saudi Arabia to ensure that it goes seamlessly well and is full of joy and fun and incredible experiences. I also would like to hire a spiritual comedian to make it so funny on the trip, a spiritual translator to help me understand Arabic and speak Arabic.
and a spiritual tour guide to show me around and keep me safe. Thank you so much for my team. I am so grateful for you getting ahead of me, ensuring things go well. Okay, so I did this. I prayed about this, and...
When I tell you, it literally all came true. I was speaking Arabic. You're going to hear it, actually, and it's a little embarrassing, especially it's so bad when I first started out. It gets a little better, but with time. Like anything, you suck at things first because you're a beginner. I don't know how to speak Arabic. Now I know a little, but the point is this, is that
Everything that I put out there that I hired these angels to do, they did. My driver was incredible. I had a team of people supporting me, looking out for me, ensuring my safety, making sure everything went seamlessly. They were the funniest people ever. We laughed. It was so much fun. This was not like a normal business trip. It was incredible.
And I really believe part of that is from this book, Hiring the Heavens. So again, you don't have to get the book if you don't want to. I love it. I've literally been walking around with this book everywhere because now whatever I have going on,
If I have a long drive and I'm concerned about traffic, I hire a spiritual car guide to ensure I get there with grace and ease on time. There's no downside. And I know it sounds a little crazy, and I had never heard of this before, but I'm so grateful my friend told me to get this book because if you can get extra support, don't you want it? I do. I do not have this thing called life figured out, right? But I know that if I can get an extra hand, that's why I'm big into asking for help when I need it.
Strong people ask for help. Asking for help is something strong people do. When I was younger, I did not. And I didn't because I was afraid people would think I was weak. I'm not afraid of that anymore. And I don't want you to be afraid of that.
Strong people ask for help. So let people know what you need help with. And if you can't find people on this plane to help you, ask for your spiritual guide. Ask to hire an angel on your behalf to ensure your speech goes great, your presentation goes great, to speak through you, to guide you in business ideas, to ensure the right partners come forward, whatever it can be. It's setting an intention, asking for help, declaring it,
And moving forward with this optimistic attitude that anything can happen and that miracles happen every day. And why wouldn't they happen for you? So I love the concepts. I literally saw it work in my own life. I swear to you, it worked.
So I just don't see the downside on it. And I had to share it with you because if something impacts my life in a positive way, I want to make sure I share it with you so that you can use it too. And finally, in closing, do nice things for nice people and watch it come back to you. I had spoken at a conference and a woman had said,
She had to leave the conference early or something. I didn't get to sign her book. Something happened. I didn't get to sign her book. Anyhow, she sent me a DM and said, I need to get an autographed copy of your book. And I was supposed to get it that day and I had to leave early, whatever. And I said, sure, go to Books and Books in Miami. You can do it online and just request an autographed one. It's a local bookstore here in Miami. And what they do is they will give you a generic one that I've gone in and already signed. But if you want...
You can put a note asking, please have Heather come in and write it out to Jana or whoever the name was. And so she...
she does that books and books calls me. This is the deal I have with books and books. And I said, stop by this week. We have a request for you to autograph a book, but to write it out to a certain person, blah, blah, blah. So I went in, I did it. And I just saw on social media, she just posted about me signing that book. It made her so happy. It was no skin off my back. It was like a little, like I just had to get myself to stop by the bookstore. That was it was no big deal. And so when you can do things that brighten someone's day or make someone feel special, do
it really gosh it makes such a difference I could tell how happy she was and she put a video up on social media which is so sweet right the world can be a dark place if we can create some small little bright moments for people
We are winning. So until next week, keep creating your confidence. You know I will be. I'm on this journey with me.
