Heather was drawn to the challenge of seeing if she could learn a new sport and qualify for the Olympics in such a short time. She didn't consider it high stakes and had a supportive family that wasn't conditional on her performance outcomes.
Heather's parents instilled values of family time and unconditional support, which created a safety net for her to try new things without fear of failure. They also taught her visualization and breaking down goals into manageable steps, focusing on the 'how' rather than the 'can'.
The 'how can I' mindset shifts focus from binary outcomes (yes/no) to finding solutions and possibilities. It simplifies the path to achieving goals by breaking them down into smaller steps, making the journey more manageable and empowering.
Heather believes that belief in the possibilities, rather than guarantees, is crucial. She emphasizes the importance of challenging oneself to see how close one can get to a goal, which can lead to unexpected achievements and personal growth.
Heather would advise her younger self that she is capable of more than she thinks and to embrace the challenge. She would remind herself that potential is just talent that hasn't been realized yet and to doubt her doubts.
Heather defines her purpose as empowering others to see the possibilities in their lives, regardless of challenges. She uses her platform to inspire and coach people, helping them take their lives and businesses to the next level.
Heather believes that many limiting beliefs stem from limited exposure and assumptions rather than overt doubts. She encourages people to challenge their assumptions and doubt their doubts by asking 'are you sure?' to uncover their true capabilities.
Heather focuses on her explosive power and nervous system, which are transferable across sports. She also embraces the challenge of each sport, breaking down goals into manageable steps, and visualizing the process to maintain motivation and clarity.
