Key Insights

Why is Stephen Miller's appointment as deputy White House chief of staff considered a strong choice?

Stephen Miller is highly intelligent, loyal to Trump's agenda, and deeply knowledgeable about policy details. He has been instrumental in shaping Trump's immigration policies and has expanded his expertise to include other critical issues like DEI and free speech. His appointment ensures continuity and effective execution of the Trump mandate.

How did cultural issues play a role in Trump's election victory?

Cultural issues, particularly those related to transgender policies and family values, were decisive. Trump's campaign effectively highlighted the Democrats' extreme positions on these issues, resonating with voters who prioritized traditional family values and concerns about the impact of progressive policies on society.

What is the significance of Susie Wiles' role in the Trump administration?

Susie Wiles, as part of the senior staff, brings strategic acumen and a focus on effective execution. Her role in the administration is crucial for maintaining momentum and ensuring that the Trump agenda is implemented efficiently. Her appointment, along with others like Stephen Miller, signals a commitment to fulfilling the voters' mandate.

What are the potential pitfalls to avoid during the transition period?

The main pitfall is allowing artificial information norms to constrain the president's ability to act. Trump must ensure that his administration aggressively moves forward to keep the promises made during the campaign, such as ending taxes on tips, mass deportations, and shutting the border. He needs a loyal and effective team to navigate the federal bureaucracy and implement his policies.

How did Trump manage to win a significant portion of voters of color?

Trump's approach was to focus on economic issues and practical concerns like job security and housing, rather than conceding ground on identity politics. His direct and blunt messaging resonated with voters who were more concerned about their economic well-being than racial or gender identity issues. This strategy effectively broke the Democrats' monopoly on these voters.

We need to recognize that when we played offense on social issues—

According to an analysis, one of the issues that was the most decisive for President Trump, can we get the advertisement, please? There were two of them, Ryan. There was A and B and Susie Wiles and James Blair and the whole team. They deserve such credit because this was such a good ad and they trust their instinct. Was Trump, Kamala Harris is for they, them, Donald Trump is for you. There were two ads and they were terrific.

Here to discuss how we need to play offense on the trans issue and how it actually won us favor with the American people. Terry Schilling, president of the American Principles Project. Terry, welcome to the program. Terry, without, and I have to give credit, without Matt Walsh, I think Matt Walsh is the Moses of the reality movement when it comes to the trans jihadis.

Because we were in the wilderness thinking that this was going to go the way of the whole gay marriage thing. That it was just, it was an inevitability. We were going to lose on it. And however, that was a miscalculation. And Matt Walsh and you and others led us back to reality. Now we're playing offense.

Terry, what's going on? Well, thanks so much, Charlie. And you know what? It's the family, stupid, right? I mean, we've been hearing this for so long. It's the economy, stupid. And Republicans followed suit and they refused to talk about any of these issues until Donald Trump comes along. And

And, you know, Charlie, Matt Walsh has been so instrumental in this movement. I had been meeting with legislators and politicians for some time showing them the polling, all the nerd stuff for how this stuff moves the electorate. But Matt Walsh added so many brilliant arguments. He had a humor to this entire debate.

But on top of all that, he had the distribution, right? He had the huge network to get this out. And he helped mainstream this in a way that groups like I, you know, could only dream up. But, you know, I just go back. Donald Trump won the popular vote for the first time since 2004. The other election where cultural issues were at the front and center of the American people's minds going into the polling booth. So if this doesn't, you know,

show people that these issues are winners when Democrats go crazy and start teaching kids that men can have babies and that your daughter now has to compete against a six foot four, 250 pound man in her volleyball league. I think these issues are going to be around for quite some time. This is the second time

By the way, the reason that Charlemagne, who's a very popular morning drive time guy in New York, the Breakfast Club, very popular guy. The reason that he's in this ad is because he saw the original ad during NFL football. So this is the second one. Let's play cut 349. Taxpayer funded sex changes for prisoners. Surgery. For prisoners. For prisoners. Every transgender person.

inmate in the prison system would have access. No, I don't want my taxpayer dollars going to that. Kamala supports transgender sex changes in jail with our money. Kamala even supports letting biological men compete against our girls in their sports. Kamala is for they, them. President Trump is for you. It's a masterclass. The team at the Trump campaign, they trusted their gut because as you know, Terry, the D.C. consultants, they only want you to talk about high stock markets, which is fine.

But think about it. It was illegal immigration, plus trans, plus the pronoun speech police, and the follow-up of the, it incorporates the black people don't necessarily need to vote for either side or vote for blue. With a popular radio host, we were so attacked, Terry Schilling, for going into culture war issues. However, is it possible the culture war won Donald Trump the White House?

It's not just possible. This is what happened, Charlie. It's the sex changes for kids, stupid. It's the men and girls sports, stupid. It's the porn in our elementary school, stupid. It's the investigating parents as domestic terrorists, stupid. This isn't that hard to understand. It was the family. It was the culture that won this election for Donald Trump. But, Charlie, the thing is, Donald Trump gets the credit.

He is the first presidential candidate since 2004 to put the family, to put the Democrats' extremism on cultural issues at the forefront of this campaign. Truly, you and I have been talking about this stuff for so long, and no one else would champion it. It had to be Donald Trump. He's an absolute genius. He's a maniac, but he's a total genius, and I love him. The

The family movement, here's what we're going to be doing, Charlie, is APP, and we need the entire family movement on board to be his bulldogs. We need to rip apart, rip to shreds anyone on the inside that's trying to stop this agenda or to criticize him. We need to be bulldogs for President Trump and bulldogs for his pro-family agenda, which is incredibly robust. Yes, and so...

Again, nature is so healing in some ways because people are getting back to first principles of how we do not want all of this extreme nonsense. So let's reinforce this, though. Terry, Kamala Harris, who now is going to be going down as a loser like Hillary Clinton, is they thought they could tap dance around from these social issues. How does this apply for future elections?

Well, here's what's interesting, Charlie, is that you're seeing some Democrats try to move the needle. They are saying things like, we need to moderate on these positions. We need to change our policy priorities here. We cannot let them get away with

We have to hold their feet to the fire. And you're starting to see the Democratic base, the crazy transgender activists and their lobbyists, they are now trying to hold these guys and kick them out, hold them accountable and kick them out of the party. We need to ratchet up this division within the Democratic Party until they become sane on it, until they stop trying to push sex issues on kids. We need to maximize the political opportunity here because the American people are obviously behind us on all of these trans issues.

Yeah. So what is now your hope, Terry, for this incoming Trump administration to deliver victories for the pro-family agenda?

Well, President Trump has been good on all of these pro-family issues since he got elected in 2016. He's made three very specific policy priorities that he put into the RNC platform. Saving girls' sports, getting rid of men all across the country, banning taxpayer funding of sex change procedures for minors. He can do all of these through executive orders. And the third is defunding these woke DEI and transgender programs.

programming in schools we are going to be supporting him uh every single day defending him in the press defending him in the public uh to make sure that this gets done we just have to help him shepherd this through and defend him from all the nasty attacks he's going to get i completely and totally agree with all of that uh so in closing uh terry name some names of some all-stars you want to see in the white house just throw them out there for the audience who do you want to see

Sarah Huckabee. I love to see Jim Banks. I know he just got elected to the Senate. You know, at least a panic. Holy cow. Ambassador to the UN. That's fantastic. Charlie, you need to go in the administration. I don't know. I am not. I am not. No, no, no.

But think about it. I'm not going in. I'm never relationships. But think about it. You want me on the outside, Terry. You want me to be able to hold people accountable, set the pace, right? Examine what's going on. Speak freely, be able to travel the country, rally support. There is a role for some outsiders to be able to live in harmony with an administration. But I appreciate the compliment. So please keep going, Terry.

Listen, I would really love and this is a little bit premature because I think she's on board with it. But I would really love to see Tiffany Justice as the secretary of education. I think she would do a phenomenal job. She's got the pulse of all the moms across the country. I think she'd be really good at Department of Education.

Well, I love it. Terry, thank you for your great work. As always, American Principles Project. Please plug it one last time for our audience. It's just family.vote. That's our domain. It's family.vote. You can sign up today and get involved. But Charlie, thank you because you guys really killed it this year and we definitely wouldn't have won without all the work that you guys had at Turning Point. So God bless you guys. Thanks for getting involved in these elections. We've got a long, long way ahead of us and we've got to get it to victory. Terry, thank you so much. Excellent work as always.

Leaked by CNN. I didn't leak it. But it's really good news. Stephen Miller, who is one of the smartest people I have ever met. He is as smart

sharp as a pocket knife this guy is as good as it gets and he is loyal to the president his agenda has now been named according to cnn and i can either confirm or deny this news uh as the deputy chief of staff for policy everybody this is as good as it gets it's as good as it gets stephen miller

understands the Trump agenda incredibly well. This is a perfect compliment to Susie Wiles. Think about it. You get Stephen Miller, you get Susie Wiles, you get Tom Homan. I mean, this is an all-star team. You could not have dreamed a better individual to be involved in the intimate details here. And by the way, Stephen Miller, he knows every little nook and cranny.

If you are wondering if President Trump was committed to fulfilling the mandate, look at these selections. In fact, I want to get a piece of tape here of Stephen Miller speaking because he is great on television. He understands the intricacies and the details. He knows what it is going to take to put together and marshal the resources to staff the federal government. It is the momentum that we are seeing right now.

You know what Stephen Miller said at the Madison Square Garden rally? America is for Americans and Americans only. It's not controversial. Everybody, when you have a senior staff that is assembled like this, that means the voters are going to get what the voters selected. This is not complicated, by the way. And you know, the media, they're trying to make it seem as though there's some secret agenda. No, no, no. You know what the agenda is? It's what the voters wanted.

It's what you guys say that you stood for, democracy, will, you know, consent to the government, will to people. That is the only thing that is going to happen. That's it. There is no kind of shadow agenda. There is no kind of secret. No, no, no. It's very simple. They're going to get what they voted for. The government works for us. And this right here, this Stephen Miller selection,

I could not be more enthusiastic about. We're waiting for this tape here. But Blake, talk about Stephen Miller. Do you agree with me that this is a good choice? Yeah, I mean, Stephen Miller, he's a classic pick. He's one of the guys who was there at the Trump White House from the start, 2016. He came in.

he was on the staff of Jeff Sessions, where he was a guy who was sounding the alarm about immigration and the specific flaws in immigration policy from the very start of the Trump campaign. So, so much of what we think of as the Trump agenda on immigration, what we need to fix, what we need to change, a lot of that is stuff that he helped outline nearly a decade ago. And

He's been around ever since then, always pushing the same thing. There's always been people trying to like box him out, sabotage him. He just kept going. And really, especially since the Biden administration took over, he's really honed his craft in a lot of areas. So he ran America First Legal. He started getting involved in, OK, how do we undercut the DEI menace? How do we help?

promote free speech in the private sector. So now we have Miller where he's still good on immigration, but he's going to be good on so many of those other political questions that have become so important to our movement over the past five years. Okay, so let's get to one of these pieces of tape here. Let's go to 353 of Stephen Miller. All these...

Day one. Yes, all these criminal migrants that have been flooded in the country are going to be the first to get thrown out of here. I mean, you've seen case after case these heartbreaking tragedies. Those ones are going to get found and deported first. And look at this Venezuelan gang. You have a Venezuelan gang that is taking over entire apartment buildings in Aurora, Colorado. And that's responsible, by the way, for some of the most heinous crimes that have happened all over the United States.

I mean, look, this is as good as it gets. You could not have selected somebody who understands what Trump voters voted for and then has the intellect, the capacity, the wherewithal, the ability, the stamina. I mean, this is as good as it gets everybody. And he has the fortitude. You know, some people have said, well, you know, people are loyal to President Trump, but they don't know how to navigate government. Stephen Miller understands all of it, all of it.

Could not be happier. And he's also a great person, great family, great wife. He really gets it. So by the way, as we're here live on air, the momentum is going. Katie Miller is terrific. That is a power couple if I've ever seen one. You got Stephen Miller. You got Tom Holman, Susie Wiles. The mandate is being fulfilled.

Let me ask a question. Do you think our country is going in the right direction or does it feel like everything is falling apart? If you're feeling alarmed, you're not alone. In fact, Americans from all walks of life have taken action to prepare for whatever is coming next. And that starts with an emergency food supply.

Restoring food in your home is the right thing to do because we're living in wild times, which explains why so many people are preparing. Right now, you can get ready to with a three-month emergency food kit from My Patriot Supply. It comes with delicious foods like creamy storgonoff, honey wheat bread, and mushroom rice pilaf. This entire kit...

This kit offers over 2,000 calories every day. This kit lasts up to 25 years. Who knows what our country will look like then? But when the day comes, you'll be ready. Go to MyPatriotSupply.com. That is MyPatriotSupply.com to order your three-month emergency food kit. You are nine meals away from anarchy. Go to MyPatriotSupply.com.

Okay, email us as always, freedom at charliekirk.com. I want to play just one more piece of tape here of the great legendary Stephen Miller. This guy is going to be like the third most important person in the White House, second or third post. According to CNN, play cut 354. I want you to think for a minute about the decades of abuse that has been heaped upon the good people of this nation. Their jobs looted and stolen from them and shipped to Mexico, Asia, and foreign countries.

the lives of their loved ones, ripped away from them by illegal aliens, criminal gangs, and thugs who don't belong in this country. I'm not just saying that. You've read the stories. It happens every day. You read one of these heartbreaking headlines:

Who's going to stand up for our daughters? Who's going to stand up for the girls of America, the women of America, the families of America? Who's going to stand up and say the cartels are gone, the criminal migrants are gone, the gangs are gone, America is for Americans and Americans only? It's as good as it gets.

Joining us now is Kurt Schlichter, great American and author of The Attack and senior columnist at townhall.com. Kurt, I'm still not off the high of this last week. Where were you when? And just walk us through the historical significance of all this. Well, first of all, Charlie, thank you for having me on on Veterans Day. Gotta represent for the United States Army the greatest engine of human freedom in human history.

And I owe you an apology. I wrote a town hall column today about the heroes and the zeros of the election. I was running up against my word count. I didn't include you and the great people at Turning Point USA. You guys. Thank you so, so much for helping to save. No apology needed.

Well, thank you, Kurt. We worked hard and we played a small little role in our little corner and we're honored to do it. And Kurt, so you're a historian. You're a wicked smart guy. It's a pinch me moment.

It really is. Am I correct? Because it's almost like too good to be true. Seven battleground states, popular vote winner, this mandate, Kurt Schlichter. Charlie, it's the Faramir and Boromir moment where they beat back the orcs and say today is a good day.

And today is a good day. We're going to have bad days ahead. We're going to have tough days ahead. We're going to have challenges ahead. This fight isn't over. The fight for freedom is never over. But today, today is a good day. The sun's shining. President Trump has clearly understood what he needs to do. I love that he's got Susie Wiles in there as the chief of staff. She deserves it. She is smart. And you know what's great, Charlie? The great thing about Susie Wiles is

is I wouldn't know her if I tripped over her. I don't know what she looks like. She didn't make it about herself. She made it about her job. That's what we want though, right? By the way, she is a humble servant and a sweet person and she is tough. You don't want to come against her. She is tough. You and I came against her when we were trying to get rid of Rona McDaniel that first time and she beat us. And then when Rona became a liability,

She cut bait. I love it. And yet, to Susie's great credit, to Susie's great credit, she saw that Ronna was in the way of Donald Trump's victory and...

Adi Deverchi, Vaya Candios, and we got a much better RNC, Laura Trump and Michael Watley. Can we talk about that? Can we talk about that, Kirk? Because I think that Susie and Trump's removal of Rana at the time helped pave the way for this momentum throughout the year. I don't know that if Rana would have stayed, people would have donated or trusted the RNC at all. And it actually would have...

major leakage or bleed with the Trump movement. Oh, absolutely. Look, we wouldn't have had, the legal effort this time was incredible. I've told you the story about how, you know, Rick Grinnell asked me the day after the 2020 election, can you get out to Nevada? And I showed up and there was one RNC lawyer, great lawyer, brought his dog, but one lawyer, are you kidding me? This time they're ready. They're fired.

They got Harmeet Dhillon and her team out there kicking tail. It was incredible. Laura Trump and Michael Watley, they deserve a huge amount of credit. And you know what? Take that, Mark Cuban. Take that.

Yeah. It turns out, it turns out he doesn't have as much sway as he thought. Kurt, what are some of the macro lessons here? What was the message the American people were sending us in this triumph? I think what the American people want is to go back to normality and what normality is, is not women having to have a boy pretending to be a girl in their locker room. It's not being afraid to speak up because you believe in, you know,

you know, Christianity. It is not economic decline. It is not being humiliated by foreign potentates. I'm going to write about this in town hall on Thursday. We want to make it the 80s again. And when I say the 80s, growing up then, you had a feeling of optimism. The economy was booming. And I think the economy is central for Donald Trump. I think everything depends on getting the economy right.

Immigration is important. Rebuilding military is important. Getting rid of racist DEI nonsense is important. But everything hinges on the economy because that is what I think people voted on. They want to be prosperous. They want to be secure. They want to live like Americans should. I refuse to give the next generation a worse America than the one I inherited.

Absolutely, Kurt. And what does this mean for the Republican establishment that was quietly cheering for Kamala because they knew that the Trump movement would now be permanently into the Republican infrastructure? There is no removing it now. What does it mean for the Republican establishment? Well, I think we've seen it with John Cornyn, John Thune, who are both very much establishment guys.

coming out and saying, hey, I'm going to support the president. We're going to work, you know, five-day work weeks instead of three-day work weeks to get this agenda through. I think they understand what's going on. And I think Donald Trump needs to be prepared to go full Les Grossman from Tropic Thunder on

on any Republican who refuses to get on board. We're not going to tolerate the nonsense anymore, Charlie. The American people have spoken. They want action. And we're seeing action from the president. Every day we got another appointment. Yesterday, it's Tom Holman. Today, it's Stephen Miller. My gosh, I'm just waiting for Rick Grinnell to get secretary of state, man. Watch the heads explode as we put in a pro-American...

brilliant diplomat to actually advocate for American interests overseas instead of the interests of a bunch of foreigners. It's going to be glorious.

So, Kurt, let's now go another level deeper. And I think this is very important. What are the potential pitfalls of lessons we need to learn from 16 or 17 in transition that we can't repeat that are not cliche, that are things that we need to consider as we're getting closer to high noon on January the 20th? Charlie, the most important thing for the president to know is not to allow artificial information

norms, and let's get out the air quotes, that apply only to conservatives to limit his ability to act. He has been invested with a moral mandate and with formal power under the Constitution. He should use both. He should aggressively move forward to keep the promises he made.

He has to keep the promises. And he understood that last time, but we need to remember that. He said, I'm going to end taxes on tips. He needs to end taxes on tips. He promised mass deportations. He needs to do mass deportations. He needs to shut the border. He needs to do what he said he's going to do. And to do that requires a team of people who are on board and loyal.

And he's already getting that, and that's great. But he also needs to apply a whip and a chair to the federal bureaucracy. The federal bureaucracy is not a fourth branch of government, Charlie. It is to make the will of the chief executive elected by the American people by a majority of the national popular vote, which doesn't actually exist, but, you know, we'll cite it just for fun, to bring that to fruition. And that's what we expect them to do. But we've seen... Look at this horrible...

behavior we've seen. Can you believe a federal official actually said if they have a Trump sign in the front yard, you FEMA people will walk on by. And that's not the biggest scandal in the news right now. It's not the mainstream media because they agree with it. Well, that has to end. So closing thoughts here, Kurt, with one minute remaining.

The Democrat Party, where do they go from here? What is your guess and your estimate of where the Democrats try to navigate from here? A smart, objective party would sit down and figure out what they did wrong. The problem, Charlie, and you and I have talked about this before, is that the kind of woke cultural Marxism leftist nonsense that's

they have is what fills them up where normal people fill it up with faith, family, and the flag. It's a religion to them. It's very, very hard to lose your religion. That's why it can't possibly be their own fault. They're literally doing the Seymour Skinner, no, it's the children who are wrong mean. They cannot allow themselves to see it

because that will bring into question everything they deeply believe on a, on a nearly spiritual level. So they're, they're going to spin their wheels for a while, not forever. Eventually some people will get some introspection and start appealing to people. Again, you remember Bill Clinton who, uh, came out of the Reagan era, uh,

a winner because he broke with Democrats on crime. He said, you know what? Criminals are bad and should be punished. And suddenly normal Americans would trust him again, where they knew they couldn't trust the Democrats during the 80s. So we'll see that eventually. They'll come back eventually because they always do. But it's going to be hard for them. And I think we should laugh at them as they suffer.

I completely agree. Kurt, excellent work as always. Plug your book, 10 seconds, please. The Attack. It's a terrifying novel of terrorism in America. You should check it out. The threat is even greater now that we have President Trump in, not because he's not going to try and protect America, but because enemies around the world realize he's a threat and they want to take him down. Get The Attack. It's on Amazon. You won't regret it. I love it, Kurt. Thank you so much. Thanks for having me.

Stephen Miller announcement is the best news of today, and the news is just going to keep on getting better and better and better, everybody. So email us your thoughts, freedom at charliekirk.com. I believe we still have Blake with us. I want to play some more pieces of tape here, though, that I think are critically important. Let's go here. ABC News, Donald Trump got one out of every three voters of color, and Charlemagne can't even believe this. Actually, let's start with 340, and then we'll go to 351. And this is an incredibly important point.

Our politics are realigning away from race and they are emphasizing class and values. That is what we've always wanted. It turns out the man that they call a Nazi, a fascist and a racist realigned our politics away from race obsession and race fixation. And instead we are now emphasizing action, agency, character and class.

Your class is far more important and should determine and dictate your politics a lot more than the melanin content in your skin. Play cut 350, please.

Well, I think that, you know, people have different issues that they care about. And I think that there's nobody out there that's a single issue voter. I think some of this is a backlash to race and gender and identity politics. But, man, most people, they just care about keeping food on their table and keeping a roof over their head. And I think sometimes people forget about that. I think that they forget about, you know, the working class. And for whatever reason, Donald Trump speaks to the grievances of

of the working class in a real way. And I keep telling folks, people will forget what you did. They'll forget what you said, but they'll never forget how you made them feel. We'll go to the next piece of tape here where it continues. ABC News, Trump got one out of three every voter of color. Play cut 351. What do you make of the demographics here? I mean, Trump got one out of every three voters of color. No. Yeah. One out of 33%. Really? Yeah.

When you say color, you mean like black, brown, everything. Oh, well, I think that, you know, people have different issues that they care about. And I think that there's nobody out there that's a single issue voter. I think some of this is a backlash to race and gender and identity politics. But man, most people, they just care about keeping food on their table and keeping a roof over their head. He's not wrong. And look, his shock and his bewilderment is important.

However, it's very important to note that Charlemagne is saying, oh, yes, we're going we're focusing on housing, grocery prices, things that actually matter, not just irrelevant race criteria. Blake, your take on this on Donald Trump and his ability to win one out of three voters of color. Yeah, I mean, it's it really is. It's a testament to.

the realignment effect he could have on policy questions. I feel like for decades you had Republicans who would basically accept all these Democrat premises, which is that it was like racist to disagree with the Democrats on things. And the only reason that people weren't voting Republican is that Republicans were too racist, basically. This was kind of the Paul Ryan assumption. So they would go around basically just giving lectures to...

to voters of color saying like, oh, you know, I'm not actually racist. Unsurprisingly, this didn't work. It wasn't a very winning message. Trump just kind of comes out like a sledgehammer and he's like, yeah, we're going to make America great again. It's bad. People are coming in. They're stealing your job. He just has this intense machismo. He

lays on very straight he's very blunt and it turns out this is a winning political message he doesn't concede all of this presumptive ground to the left he doesn't presume that the left is like morally superior to him which was a very common problem for republicans 15 years ago and once you stop conceding that ground you can actually win people straight up and it also helped that the left just completely went off the deep end it got hijacked by

A relatively small part of the party that just was very profoundly insane on all of these social questions. And again, if you had this old Mitt Romney-esque thing, your attitude would be, well, you know, they're morally in the right direction and we'll catch up eventually. And...

Instead, you had someone who would just counterpunch and say, yeah, the left is actually super insane. They're mutilating your kids. They're killing babies. They'll when you say it very directly like that, you can win a lot of people over the entire Democrat like monopoly on those voters was based on getting people to vote more liberal than their actual beliefs were. And Trump kicked in the door and said, you don't have to do that anymore.
