Listen up, patriots, gay-triots, and natriots. We have a new podcast that has dropped. It's called IHIP News. It's Monday through Friday, every day, 15 to 20-minute hot takes on the political landscape of the United States of America, always served with a side of petty grievances.
We are on all the available platforms, Apple, Spotify, Google, whatever you get your podcasts and YouTube. Please go rate, subscribe, and review so that we will chart upwards with America's greatest legal mind, pumps. Pumps, what does an eagle say? Caw-caw. A little bit more enthusiasm. Caw-caw. That's it. That's, that's. Caw-caw. That's the patriotism that this country needs right there. So are we supposed to start?
Ready? One, two, three. Hello, patriots, gay-triots, and they-triots. I mean, we're back from the DNC and it was pure magic. It really was. It was one of the most incredible experiences I've ever had. Just the enthusiasm, the entertainment, the people. It was crazy. There's one thing I've had it with, with the DNC. What?
You and I overpacking like a couple of washed up old drag queens. At least you just had one bag. I had two. Pumps had two. Two bags. Suitcases. It was ridiculous. I was disgusted with us and the grotesque overpacking. She was so mad when she was stomping around packing on Thursday night. She was like, I am so disgusted with myself. I am disgusted. But my favorite part.
We're going to give you guys a complete download on the DNC. This is the behind the scenes of the DNC. So everybody knows that Pumps is a chronic vapor.
Yeah. Yeah. Big time vapor. And to get into the United Center was a big ordeal. I mean, you've got all of these major powerful people there. And then obviously major podcasters. Cliff-roaching. Right. So the security was tight. Tight. You have to go through all these barriers and you get through Secret Service. Well, Pumps, why don't you tell them what happened? Okay. So...
We go through the first night and he takes my vape. The Secret Service takes my vape and says I can't have it. And I was just like, well, fuck. Little backstory. I couldn't find it for like three weeks. And so the place I had, I bought every single one that they had, which was four. So that I took all four to Chicago. So I had four. So as we walk in day one, now I'm down to three.
So luckily, our friend Bella, I had stashed a vape in her backpack that didn't get confiscated. Go to the next day, I get another vape confiscated.
So I'm like on pins and needles because now I'm down to two. And I'm like, what if I don't have one? What if they take the one I have that I don't have one for the day? Like, oh, my gosh, oh, my gosh, oh, my gosh, panic. So Bella suggested that I put it in a pocket and put a bunch of tampons and pads on top of it. And that's what I did. So I was able to get in. Let me tell you guys what Pump suggested. Okay.
Pumps was so desperate when she was two vapes down. She suggested cramming a vape up her ass, which, you know, the major video that went viral that kind of launched this podcast is you cramming that spoon up your ass. And so, I mean, she said it. She goes, I don't know what I'm going to do tomorrow. I'm two vapes down. I might just have to cram one of these up my ass. Right. But my question was, would it set off a metal detector? That was what I was concerned about. That was my big... I mean...
If I thought my choices were cram the vape up my ass to get in or have no vape, I'd fucking lube that thing up. Oh, I knew you were about to cram that vape up your ass. Yeah, I didn't have to. I knew if you were one vape down. Oh, my gosh. If I was down to one vape. It's in the ass. It's in the ass. Oh, my gosh. All right. Let's talk about all of the star sightings that we had. So, I mean, obviously, we saw Pete Buttigieg.
I mean, incredible. One of the best looking men I've ever seen. Hands down. You guys, we're sitting in front of our hotel and we see like this big hubbub of cameras and entourage. We look over and it's Daddy Newsome. Oh, my gosh. He is. He's almost too perfect. Like he looks more like an actor than a politician.
I think he is a fabulous politician. He is so incredibly gifted and he is in person. As good looking as he looks on TV, as telegenic and photogenic as he is in person. It's better. Wow. He's a wow. I mean, he's like your jaw drops. He's so hot. And then his voice is like deep.
He's got a great smile. Oh, my. Yeah. Great hair. He's super tall. Great hair. Yeah. Yeah. He was hot. So then before we left, she said there's two people.
that we've got to meet when we're at the DNC. And I said, okay, who are they? She says, Nicole Wallace. And for those of you that don't watch MSNBC, Nicole Wallace is an anchor on MSNBC that Pumps is completely obsessed with. I love her. The second one is George Conway. And for those of you that don't follow politics as closely as Pumps and me, George Conway is
is the ex-husband of Kellyanne Conway. And Kellyanne Conway is that blonde Trumper that was his campaign manager. Anyway, they're divorced. He's, you know, completely gone to the left. He is a member of the Lincoln Project. Yak, yak.
So she's hawking out, sitting outside. She gets a pass to go to press row and she's sitting outside the MSNBC studios with the security guards for hours. That's why on a lot of our studios,
social media clips, you see me running around with Austin's show because Pimps hates to do that. She was hawking out MSNBC. I was extremely busy. Never found Nicole Wallace because as it turns out, she was in the New York studio the entire time. Which I didn't know until Thursday, which I was so upset because I spent two days. Two days.
Hawking out the door at the MSNBC. And I saw everybody else and their dog. Like I saw all CNN's people, all CBS's people, all ABC's people, all Fox's people. Didn't give a shit. But my girl Nicole Wallace was in New York. All right. Then you guys...
At one point, we're up in media row and we're about to go interview. I think it's J.B. Pritzker, the governor of Illinois. So we're standing out in the hallway and it's like you just start seeing big time names pass by. And we see the mother of dragons, Nancy Pelosi. Love her. With her little entourage. And she's just walking through. I mean, boss bitching. Total boss bitching. Like nobody's business. Yeah.
And then we're standing there and Jesse Waters comes by. Pumps and I immediately change. We go from like joy to complete like gross. Yeah, pillars of sand. And I saw on his broadcast, like on Instagram, somebody clipped it. And he goes, you know,
This is the first day of the DNC. Nobody is like smiling here. Nobody is asking journalists for selfies. And I wanted to be like, yeah, because I remember two specific times that you walked by, Jesse Waters. And it was an immediate kegel, recoil, like just a complete gag. First of all, I wouldn't be caught dead with a selfie with Jesse Waters. Full stop.
Plus his dye job is way too dark. It's bad. Yeah. And then Sean Hannity. So Sean Hannity comes walking by.
And he looks over at Pumps and me for some reason. I have no idea why. And he smiles and waves at us and says, hey, guys. And I mean, it was death stare. Right. I mean, we were both just like, ugh, repulsed. And here's the thing. You might think, oh, well, he's just doing his job. And it's like, no, we...
We were on Fox News for 10 minutes, Jesse Waters' show, after we interviewed Vice President Kamala Harris back in March. And for about 10 days, would you say, Kathy? No.
About 10 days, 14 days, we received death threats, phone calls where people would tell us they wish that we get raped with baseball bats. And so these guys, Jesse Waters and Sean Hannity...
They just stir up the worst, most toxic people in the United States of America because I've never seen so much hatred. And I mean, who cares? We interviewed the vice president. It was a you know, it wasn't even a super in-depth interview because we're not journalists. We're podcasters. And that was just such vile behavior.
response from Fox viewers. So I just don't have a smile. I don't either. I don't have a thought of goodwill for those people. Further, you know that behind Trump's back, they talk about what a nutty is. So yeah, it was full blown death stare from us. Yeah, we know how they feel about him because we've seen the texts.
And they just bring out, they go to the lowest common denominator, fear mongering, hateful, cruel. And then they want to walk around and be like, hey, guys, go fuck yourself. Oh, tell them the imaginary conversation we were going to have. Oh, yeah. So then, of course, after...
So after Sean walks by, then we're like, he walks by and we're like, oh my God, it was the devil himself. And I was like, God, I wish I would have said like, oh, hey, Sean, come here. Let's get a selfie. Just kidding. Go fuck yourself, Sean Hannity.
And then Pumps and I can go on and on about that for hours. Yeah. It was pretty funny. And then we ran into, we hung out with Austin all the time. Austin's show, who we love. We filmed an episode with him that dropped on YouTube. And Austin is fabulous takes on politics. But we ran into leftist Hassan Piker all the time. And Pumps is.
would always want to get a photograph with Hassan. Because he's so cute. And so every time we'd pose, she'd go and put her arm right around him. She'd go, Hassan, put your arm around me so everybody thinks we're in love. And Hassan would just go, okay. And he would just do it. And the great thing about like Hassan and Austin, because they're content creators. They don't give a shit. They'll film anything with you. Right. I hate let's play hat it or hit it.
Okay. Hey, Austin, I've lost pumps because she's hawking out MSNBC. Can we run around the DNC and film how did her hit it? Okay. Hassan, put your arm around me. Everybody thinks we're in love. Okay. I mean, we'll just do anything. Okay. Yeah.
Pumps, our ability to suck and then wake up the next day and suck more than the previous day is undefeated. It's unparalleled. We are the champions. If you would like to see how bad we suck, please join us in Seattle in September or New York City in November for, you know, just some world-class shit talking. That's right. Live. Okay. I, because we posted a lot of political stuff, the Trumpers came out on our social media like crazy. Oh, good. And I found some comments. Okay. All right. Here's one. MLevy2019 responds, your political talk has ruined me as a follower.
I used to love to listen to your podcast as a way to escape our crazy political world and for endless laughs. I am choosing to no longer follow those who are a part of the problem. Hashtag, sad it had to end this way. Hashtag, why couldn't you just stay fun? Hashtag, enough of the political talk. Right.
Hashtag, hashtag, hashtag. Something hilarious about this is, number one, she put hashtags in her comment. But here's something that I want to point out. This woman is white, okay? And I've only seen white people, particularly white women in the comments section, that try to tell us what we can and cannot say on our very own podcast.
And this idea that we're supposed to curate our podcast for the sensibilities of these suburban white women is peak entitlement.
Absolutely. And what a privilege they have that they don't have to worry about politics. No, they don't have to worry about vulnerable groups because they just attend their megachurch. And here's your worldview. It's very black and white. It's very small. It can fit in this teeny tiny little box. And don't worry about anything outside of that. You don't have to worry about LGBTQ plus rights. You have to worry about minority rights. You don't have to worry about...
guns because you live in a gated community somewhere and you probably homeschool your kids. So I mean, that's just I've had it with that. Okay, here's one. This one's great. Brando721 says, listening to these two Karens is glorious. It's like Joy Behar on Ritalin with even less intelligence. Hey, I'll take any comparison to Joy Behar as a compliment. Okay. Okay.
Here's my favorite one. Okay. This is directed at you. Okay. And this is from Red Pill Please Doc. And Red Pill Please Doc trolls our posts all the time. And I want to say to Red Pill Please Doc and their avatar is just a red pill. Show your face and show your name, you pussy. Okay.
Because they just go on every single one of our posts and post something. But nobody knows what their name is. Nobody knows what their face is because they're too big of a pussy. At least you and I get on camera. These are our names. These are our faces. These are our opinions. This is our take on everything. And we are sitting here doing it because we are women that are strong enough to do so. But Red Pill Doc takes issue with you. Okay. And they say...
Any lawyer that has even the smallest amount of knowledge knows the charges were rigged and full of BS. And they'd also know the, quote, 34 counts are effectively one offense. Since Pumps, Pumps, Pumps is clearly a fucking useless lawyer, she believes and propagates the bullshit, right?
What an embarrassment to the legal fraternity she is. What I have to say to Red Pill Please, Doc, is- Oh, that's funny.
Pumps is America's greatest legal mind. Thank you. You're welcome. And Pumps shows her face and her name on camera every day. And you hide behind an avatar and some fake name and just traffic in all of this bullshit propaganda. And your candidate, Donald Trump, incited a violent insurrection against
promotes people that beat up cops while at the same time says he's pro-cops it is the biggest psychological case study for sociopathy that i have ever seen in my entire life so fuck you red pill doc do not talk about america's greatest legal mind
Okay. You know, my feelings are just so hard. You say she's old. Yeah. Call her a whore. She's in all that. I prefer you call me a whore. Do not question her legal prowess. That's right. Thank you. Yeah. All right. So we at the DNC, we had the opportunity to interview so many cool people. We interviewed Michael Cohen, who read Pill Dog, was the star witness. Yes. In the 34th.
felony convictions of your guy that you probably sit and dry hump in your dreams 24-7, 365, Donable Lecter. But we interviewed him. That's on our YouTube channel. But we were able to sit down with Elizabeth Warren, the senator from the great state of Massachusetts. And she's also from Oklahoma. We were able to sit down with her and play a game of had it or hit it. Kylie, or should I say Kathy, let's play that clip.
Okay, we are here with Senator Elizabeth Warren, a woman with whom we have a lot in common with. And you may think, how do two women from Oklahoma City have something in common with a senator from Massachusetts? Senator? From Oklahoma. That's right. Born and raised, born in Oklahoma City, grew up part of the time in Norman and the rest in Oklahoma City. All right, we're going to play a game with you called Had It or Hit It. Had It or Hit It. Had It means no, Hit It means yes. All right, I'm ready. Okay.
or hit it, large crowd sizes at political events? Oh, hit it. Are you kidding? I'm loving this. Come on down. What about the chef's kiss last night with the double arena? Oh,
You know, all I can say is we have a candidate who can fill two arenas simultaneously. Do you know any other presidential candidates who've ever tried that? I don't. Neither do I. I can't think of one. Not even one. I can't even think. And if I were to think of one, I think that that same person has never won the popular vote. Really has a problem with metrics. That's right. In fact, has lost the vote by millions.
Millions, I believe. I believe it is millions. I think it is actually millions. Yeah, I do too. Okay. Had it or hit it, Project 2025? Oh, had it. And we got to cut that off before it spreads everywhere in this country. Project 2025 really is a vision of an America that's run by two groups.
One is the billionaires who just figure out how to squeeze more money out of everybody else in this country. And the other are the extremists who, I get it, they may have a point of view about who should have access to abortion or how people who love people differently from the way they do. I get it, they have that point of view. But they want to control all the rest of us and they want to put the government first.
in our bedrooms and our examining rooms. And we just can't do that. We can't build a country based on catering to the billionaires and the extremists. We've got to build a country that has room for all of us and has room for people who aren't all cut out of the same cloth and who do things a little different, but a chance for all of us to grow and build a strong future and to really thrive.
And how important is it for all of the people that live under these draconian laws, like states like Oklahoma, total abortion ban, Ten Commandments, published and posted in all public schools. They've removed all discrimination protections for LGBTQ+. All of that has been just inhumane.
eviscerated. How important is it this campaign cycle that we deliver a mandate so that the people that are suffering from this in these red states can get relief? Oh, you put it exactly the right way. We have got to vote. We have got to turn out and vote. And I want to say it's not just vote. That's something that's going to happen in just a little under 11 weeks.
It's that we've got to be out there now. We've got to be out there, go to KamalHarris.com and figure out how to get signed up to make some phone calls, to do some texts, to pitch in $10. But we've got to do it now because we've got to show everybody that if you care, if you really do think that
Women ought to be the ones who are making these decisions. That doctors shouldn't be prosecuted for delivering the healthcare that people need. If you really do believe that our LGBTQ+ brothers and sisters and kids and friends and neighbors and coworkers
deserve the kind of respect and care that all of us should get, if you believe those things, then you need to raise your voice now during the election. This is a focus point. You raise your voice now, and the funniest thing happens. People say, "Whoa, I thought I was the only one who felt that way. I thought it was just me." It turns out she does, and she does, and she does. You know what?
That makes it stronger and that gets us in and gets us there now. So look, vote, you believe it, but don't wait. Don't wait and just say, "I'm going to vote on the day." Get involved now. Raise your voice now. Talk to people now because you'd be surprised.
It's out there. That's why I think our podcast has kind of gotten traction. I love it. Okay, hat it or hit it, trickle down economics. Oh, hat it. Please.
Come on, 40 years, we have the evidence, trickle down economics is another way to say the rich get richer and the powerful get more powerful. It does not work. What's the better vision? Is we say, you know, the richer you are, the more you pay in taxes. And when you pay that, you billionaires...
Then we're going to use that to invest in roads and bridges and education. We're going to make sure that we have an America that works for everyone. And works for everyone means those who've got more, pay a little more, and all of our kids have a real chance
A real chance to build a future. We call it trickle-down incompetence over at the iPad Podcast. Yes, you got it right. I'm going to use that. Okay. I'm going to use that. Yeah, trademark. Okay, last one. I drop a nickel in every time I use it. Last one, because the senator is so busy, hat it or hit it, Harris-Walls. Whoa! Hit it. I am ready. Hit it, girls. We've got to do this.
It is a moment. I get it. We're the underdogs. This is going to be tough. I've seen the electoral map. I've seen how close all the polling is. But we fight with a joyful heart. Yes, we do. Because we know, ultimately, this is the country we want to build. We can do this.
Senator Warren from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma City, I think that our state makes great women. They do! What can I say? Okie gals. That's right. Thank you so much, Senator Warren. Thank you for having me and thank you for the work you're doing.
I love Elizabeth Warm. And what's weird is that she really is from Oklahoma. We talked about burger places, where she was here. I mean, she knew everything about it. I mean, she still comes here and visits. It was really cool. She is so engaging. She's incredibly smart. And she is such a great voice for progressive causes because...
What I'm really interested in is for the progressive slash liberal slash democratic movement to take the moral case for progressive ideals to the American voter. So specifically, I'm talking about people that attend megachurches or some form of Christian church, and they're able to justify voting for Donald Trump. And
In that justification, the only thing they prioritize in that is their own personal tax break. That's it.
Below that, they don't care about if poor people have access to health care. They don't care about lifting up vulnerable communities. Many of them, when they have children that are members of the LGBTQ plus community, they get pushed aside and bullied by their own families. And so I feel like the next step for progressive causes is to take this case, this moral case to these people who claim
moral superiority over the rest of us because they attend a church and tithe there. And I've just, I've completely had it with that, as everybody knows. And that are morally bankrupt, ethically bankrupt, and love their dear leader. Yeah, it's, it's,
Yeah. And it's happening nationwide, not just in Oklahoma, because there's plenty of crazy ass Trumpers in New York, in California. And it is a cancer. These people have a real fundamental problem with cognitive dissonance, how they are able to act like they're so morally superior because they're Christian.
while at the same time denigrate and belittle and ridicule people that are vulnerable. And I'll tell you one story about the DNC. So we were walking through the hallways, getting from one place to another, and I hear this gentleman, younger gentleman, screaming, Jennifer Welch, Jennifer Welch. And I stop and I turn around and he's kind of out of breath. And he goes, I
I'm not going to say his name, but he says, my name is blank and I'm from North Carolina. And his eyes filled up with tears. And he said, I grew up in rural North Carolina and my parents are huge Trumpers. They're huge Christians and I'm gay and they've just had a really hard time with it. And I was broken and sad and rejected by my parents. And I started listening to your podcast and it healed me.
Hearing two women that sound and look like my parents advocate for me and saying that I have value and that I matter, it healed me. And listener, this was an unintended consequence to our podcast. This is genuinely the way that Pumps and I are as a default setting. We embrace that.
the LGBTQ plus community extra hard because we know that their parents denigrate them and bully them. We embrace minority groups extra hard because we grew up in white suburban America and we know how racist white people are in white circles. So we feel like we have to love those people harder because we know, especially living in a red state where the majority of people here are, you know,
"Oh yeah, I'm a Christian. Yep, I love my country." But only if you look and are a certain way. And so that's why you see liberals in red states are some of the toughest liberals you'll ever meet because we're on the front lines of this hate and this default setting that these people have to further diminish. They use their privilege to further diminish vulnerable groups.
And so Pumps and I feel like we have to really hug and lift these groups up. But seeing that friend, that listener from North Carolina, and I just hugged him and then we took selfies and then we made a video and he was smiling and
Knowing that that makes a difference to so many listeners is so important to Pumps and me because it's really real. The rejection that members of the LGBTQ plus community get from their families, which is the most painful one, from their churches.
from their communities and then from their politicians. And then you see states like ours that are removing discrimination protections for LGBTQ plus members and for minorities and for women. It's everything is on the line in this election. If you give a shit about anybody other than your own personal bank account. And there's a lot of people, that's all they care about. And they just say it. Oh,
Oh, I just vote for my finances and that's it. And I can just be a dick on everything else and close my eyes and stick my head in the sand. There's plenty, there's millions of Americans like that, sadly. No, absolutely. And-
I feel like this election more so than we've ever had because we do have Project 2025. We've had Roe overturned. I mean, like they're telling us what they're going to do. We have to be so active and get out and support these people just because they don't look like us. They have the same value as humans as we do. And they don't want anything more than we have. They just want to be equal. Right. I don't think.
I think anybody that tries to say, oh, well, you know, I'm not for equality or you're just a fucking asshole.

One thing I loved about Michelle Obama's speech is she talked about the affirmative action of generational wealth. And that generational wealth is something that is very prevalent in upper class white people's worlds. And so you have these people, I know people that have benefited from generational wealth, yet politically, they diminish wealth.
causes like affirmative action. They diminish causes like DEI when in actuality, they're the ones who have started the 100-yard dash on the 90-yard line. Absolutely. And it's been very easy for them. Like, I'll give you an example. There's a guy that lives here in Oklahoma City. And when I was probably a 25-year-old, 26-year-old baby decorator, he hired me to do some interior designing at his office.
And he kind of had an office for show because he had inherited a bunch of money. So I'm over there and I'm installing the things that he bought. And it was a small office. And he goes, hey, Jennifer, come here. I'll never forget this because it was so degrading. And he pulled me over to his desk and he opened up the big file drawer. And he goes, this is where I keep all my porn. And it was just full of all these porn magazines. Like, wow.
completely, and this is probably like the late 90s. It's just full. I'm talking like 50, 75 porn magazines. Two months later, I'm sitting on my front porch, get the mail out, and he's running for state senator. And there's a photograph on the postcard from him, this guy for state senate, sitting on a sofa with his small children, reading a Bible. And I just thought, you know, that's it.
And this guy, I see him around town still, he's the biggest Trumper you could ever imagine. So here's what you got here. White dude who inherited a shit ton of money, who has a huge porn problem,
who has no, you know, that was completely denigrating to me as a 25, 26 year old young professional. I was so shocked by it. I didn't respond. Right. It's so shocking. I didn't respond to it then as the way I would have now. I was just kind of like, oh, ha ha. But it really stuck with me because I found it to be just so denigrating. But I was kind of paralyzed when he did that. And then he's, you know, running for Senate with his generational wealth.
feigning like he's interested in the Bible with his kids. And now he's the biggest Trump supporter and probably, you know, traffics and all this. Oh, she's a DEI candidate or degrading the Obamas. And that story is so common. That's the personal one to me, but it's so common in a lot of white circles, you know,
What Michelle Obama and Barack Obama have had to do, what Kamala Harris has done, what Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has done compared to what the porn guy client of mine that ran for state Senate has.
It's not even comparable. No. It's not even comparable. This guy's barely had to work a day in his life. His office was just for show and probably to get his wife away from him. And clearly we know it's a place where he could look at porn all the time. We know what he was doing. It was his office. Yeah. And then when he gets home, he fake reads the Bible with his kids. And so, you know, you just see that type of hypocrisy a lot, which is why I'm hopeful this election that if we can take...
This message of progressive politics for moral reasons, specifically to women, because women have had so much taken away from them because of Trumpism, because of his Supreme Court appointees. I think that we could have a very large electoral mandate.
I hope so. I mean, I feel good about it. All right. And in that same vein, and speaking about generational wealth, we interviewed the governor of Illinois, a billionaire, a real billionaire by the name of J.B. Pritzker. And this is what always amazes me about a lot of billionaires that you see, not all, but some. They have all of this wealth in
And when they have it, they're still trying to get more. Right. And they vote for policies that give them even more wealth. And they feel so entitled to not have to pay taxes. But you have a contrast to that in J.B. Pritzker, who is demanding a more progressive tax system. And you can see the full interview with J.B. Pritzker on our YouTube channel or on our other podcast, IHIP News, if you like to listen versus watch.
But we're gonna play right now our game of "Hat It or Hit It" with Governor Pritzker. Governor, we wanna play a game with you. We always end all of our episodes. It's a game called "Hat It or Hit It." So if you don't like something, you'll say "Hat It," and if you like it, you'll say "Hit It." - Okay. - Okay? All right, "Hat It or Hit It," deep dish pizza. - Oh, hit it.
Are you kidding? We're in Chicago. That's right. All right. I asked a congressman from New York the other day and it was a big had it. I'll tell you. They're wrong, though. Those guys from New York don't even know pizza. They don't understand pizza. OK. Had it or hit it. Public education. Oh, hit it. We need to help. In fact, we need to do a lot more for public education. Yeah. All right. Had it or hit it. Book banning.
Well, had it. And we actually passed a ban on book bans. I love that. I love that. Oh, that's like a reverse ninja move, right? Yeah. Way to go, guys. They don't know what to do with it. Their eyes are going like this, you know, the right wing, because they don't, what do you mean you ban book bans? I can't ban books anymore? Yeah, they can't. You know, history is never kind to the book banners. Never. It never ends well, does it? Okay. Had it or hid it, Oprah. Yeah.
Hit it. And I say that just hesitantly a little bit because, you know, she used to live in Chicago. We loved her here. Then she got up and left. And I was very disappointed that she left because she was an advocate for Chicago. Yes. So but I look, she's special. She is. She gave a great speech and endorsement. So hit it. OK. Had it or hit it. We just spoke about this, but I have to get it on the record. Governor, had it or hit it. J.D. Vance. Well.
At it. And by the way, they should hide him. Is that another category? He's his own category. Hide him. It should be. Yeah. It's so cringy. Watching him campaign is so cringy. And, you know, if you notice DeSantis and you notice J.D. Vance, they try to be Trump and they faceplant.
Whenever we finally rid ourselves of Trumpism, we're still going to have a problem with the existing cult. But the ones that try to mimic him, you know, Lion Ted, Trump's words, not mine. We call him Governor Kitten Hills because he wears the platform heels. DeSantis. DeSantis. That's what we call him on our podcast. I love that. I love that.
But, you know, they are never able to, they don't have the riz. As much as I dislike Donald Trump, he has a little bit of crazy riz. Yeah, I have to say that I, first of all, J.D. Vance, I mean,
I watched a video of him, I don't know if you remember, when he was on a tarmac and he went to look at the airport. Psycho, like Stalker City. Yeah, and then he comes back. And, you know, I mean, truly cringeworthy, you know, that he says, oh, I just want to see the airplane that I'm going to have when I become vice president. Like, give me a break. This is what you think people want to hear the next vice president? Yeah.
is going to do is like, you want the big plane? That's why you want to be vice president? He's a douche. There's something so bad about the guy. Right. I mean, really unusual. And anybody can change their views so much. Right. He's he called Trump America's Hitler just a few years ago. Right. And now he's a sycophant for everything about Donald Trump. We don't know this. I mean, the frightening thing is a couple of years from now,
what are his views going to be? Right. Oh, exactly. Okay. Last one. Yes. Had it or hit it. Kamala Harris and Tim walls. Oh, hit it and hit it hard. I might add.
I love these people. I mean, really. And again, anybody who watched Tim Walls last night, he's got kind eyes. If you just even put aside everything he said, and he talked about the pep talk that he wanted to give everybody. You know, he's not a great speaker, but he wants to give a pep talk. That was fantastic. A former coach. Yeah. And then his family, like I said, you know, he...
He cares so much about his family. You can feel it. And I've known him for a few years because we got elected at the same time. We're both very involved in the Democratic Governors Association and the National Governors Association. And I like him. I want to go out for a beer with him all the time because he's a great guy.
And that's not a feeling you get about the folks on the other side. Would you want to spend any time with either one of them? Like, "Oh, I'd like to learn more about JD Vance." No, I know too much about JD Vance already. JD Vance is the type of guy, if you're at a party and you're going into a room and he's sitting in there, you would turn around and go to avoid. He's the guy you avoid. That's right. And let me say about Kamala Harris, you know, I think that back when Hillary was running,
And I was very involved in her campaign and I so admire her. Oh, I do too. But, you know, back then there was this sense that, well, you know, a woman can't be too tough because then, you know, she'll be considered inappropriately tough, right? Like, but men, they can all be tough and everybody gives them credit for it. That was kind of the talk of 2016, I think, if you recall, that Hillary had to, you know, somehow moderate being, you know, strong, right?
I think the country has gotten over, I should knock on wood, but I think the country has gotten over that view. And that Kamala Harris is a kind and good person. She's also strong and tough. And one thing that people like about Donald Trump, even if they don't like the things he says or does, is they think because he sounds like a bully and he says tough things that he's strong.
But Kamala Harris is strong in a way that combines with kind.
And you get a sense of somebody who's getting things done, prosecuting the case or prosecuting the endeavor of standing up for working families. Right. And she's doing that with a certain toughness and charisma. But you don't get a feeling. And again, I think the country's gotten over this, you know, that like, well, that's too tough. A woman can't be that way. And so I'm looking forward to her demonstrating not that not only that she's got a great sense of humor, but
and that she's a kind person, but also that she's strong. And we all want to see that, I think, in our president, whoever it is. And Kamala Harris seems to have that like in her soul. So I'm excited about that. I think that is a big deal. For two and a half months, we get to prosecute this campaign to make sure that we're showing Kamala Harris to the public.
for who she really is. And that strength, I think, is a fundamental part of who she is. I can't wait to say, "Madam President."
I cannot wait. I cannot wait to watch her mop the floor at that debate. I saw what she did to Brett Kavanaugh, and I can't wait to see that happen. And I think women are roaring back. And I think now is the time. It is the year of the women. Governor Pritzker, I cannot thank you enough for joining us on I've Had It. Thank you so much. Yeah, you guys are terrific. I love J.B. Pritzker. He really is.
such a great guy. I mean, I would enjoy having dinner with him or a coffee with him. I mean, he's great. I just, I wonder what it's like to have a governor that can say, I advocate for every person in my state. Because we don't have that. We don't have that here. We do not have that. Okay, what I was going to bring up and I completely forgot is at the DNC,
took back the American flag in a big way. I kind of think they were listening to the podcast. Okay. I was going to say, should we do a victory lap or not? I kind of think so. Let's flex a little bit. Flex a little bit. It was months ago. Kylie, wasn't it months ago? It was months ago. We said, we're taking back patriotism and we're taking back the flag. And we started the cacaw. We started the patriot. We started the gaytriot. We've been beating this mantra for months.
I think it's time for a little victory lap. Yeah. I mean, obviously, DNC organizers are big listeners because we took that flag right back. And everybody, when I would see interviews, you know, they'd say the Democratic Party's taking back patriotism, taking back the flag. And I was like, you're welcome. You're welcome. Anyway, it was super fun. You guys rocked.
