Hello, everybody. Welcome to another episode of Christ with Coffee on Ice. I am your host, Allie Yost, and I am so grateful to be here with you guys. Happy Friday. Today, we have our coffee on ice, and this is just the coffee that I make from home that is so scrumptious and today, I decided to sprinkle a little cinnamon on top, a little cinnamon. Gorgeous, gorgeous.

Yeah, we got our Christ and we got our coffee on ice today.

How is everybody feeling? How are y'all feeling? Spiritually, physically, emotionally, how are you feeling? All of the things. I am truly praying for y'all and I hope that through whatever hardships you're facing, the Lord is sustaining you and that you are seeking him for sustainment and that you are going to the Lord for strength because ultimately when we are weak, we rejoice actually in our weaknesses because that is when the Lord can be strong for us and

And who better to strengthen us than the Lord? Amen? Yeah, I'm really grateful for this season so far and I hope that you guys have been enjoying it. I don't know if this is going to be the entirety of the topic that we talk about in this podcast episode today, but I have seen a reoccurring topic or question that you guys have brought up

about being a follower of Jesus, being lit on fire for the Lord, being so in love and passionate about him, but having to deal with people in your life or not knowing how to handle certain conversations or certain people in your life who may not agree with that. Whether they...

aren't as lit as you. Maybe they're a little lukewarm. Maybe they don't know the spirit like you do. Maybe they just simply don't believe in Jesus at all or God. And it's interesting because

The more Christians that I have met, the more people in my community that I've been introduced to, it seems like a lot of us, if not every single one of us, has somebody, at least one person in our life, that does not follow Jesus or doesn't believe in the Lord. And a lot of times it's actually looked like our own family members, some of our close friends,

And that's really hard to navigate when you know the truth and you also have experienced the peace that the Lord can give you. You know, like you've walked through this season with the Lord and you've come to see who he really is and you believe in him wholeheartedly because of the miracles that he's done in your own heart and in your own life. And a lot of the times it's hard to explain that.

Because he is an invisible God, we don't physically see him, but we know he's real because we felt him and we have seen the effects of his existence in our life. You know, like I will never get rid of that analogy where, you know, it's like we can't physically see the wind, but we can feel it and we can see the effects of wind. When we're looking at a tree and we see the leaves blowing in the wind,

Can we see the wind physically? No, but we can see the effects that the wind has through movement of leaves and feeling it on our skin. And that's very much like how the Lord is. And it's hard to explain to people the intimacy and the reality of who God is when you've personally experienced it, but you can't be like, and here he is, you know, like there's no physical connection.

proof, you know, it's a feeling, it's an experience, it's something that we feel in the deep depths of our soul and our hearts. And sometimes that's really hard to communicate to people. And if they've never experienced it, it's pretty much impossible for them to truly understand. I really don't know if it's totally possible to explain just how real the Lord is to somebody who's never felt him or experienced him.

And the reason that they've never felt him and experienced him is probably because they've never opened their heart to him, truly, you know? There's something in their life that's kind of creating that wedge, whether it's pride, whether it's ego, whatever it could be, playing up disbelief.

not wanting to know enough about the Lord. You know, like I believe a lot of the time in my life, I didn't truly know who Jesus was because I didn't want it enough. Like I didn't want him enough. I didn't want to invest the time in reading the Bible or, you know, getting to know him. And it's funny because in the last episode, we were talking about how you don't have to earn money

The Lord, like you don't have to earn his love. You don't have to prove yourself to him. But there is a little bit of work in any relationship. You know, there's work and there is effort that you have to give. The effort is not in proving ourselves. The effort is not in...

you know, earning anything from the Lord, but the effort is in maintaining a relationship with him. And so I never wanted to make that effort, you know, and I believe that that's a lot of what even lukewarm Christians want.

run into is that it's, it's the effort, like the deep, deep effort that it does take to truly feel the Lord and, and see his heart every day. And so sometimes people don't want to do that. Sometimes they don't want to take the effort into knowing who God is. It's a lot easier for them to be like, God isn't real. And so I want to bring light to that. I want to bring light to that because I, I believe that every person listening right now, you're thinking of someone.

you know there's somebody in your life that doesn't know jesus or maybe they claim to know jesus but they don't walk like jesus they don't walk the walk they talk it and they they know a lot

but maybe they don't put it out in action. And so sometimes it's really hard to have people like that in your close circle. It's also, it's wisdom to make sure that the people closest to you are equally yoked. You know, we read about that in the Bible often. I believe that's for like all relationships. If you're going to have anyone near you, you have to be equally yoked.

A yoke is a wooden frame or bar that connects two or more animals at the head or neck so that they can pull together on a load. For example, oxes, horses, mules, donkeys, and water buffalo can be yoked. In the early Middle East, Greece, and Rome, oxen were sometimes yoked by their horns. Okay, so that's what it means to be equally yoked. If you envision two oxes or two horses,

and they have this wooden frame that is behind their heads on their necks, if one horse or ox is running too quickly, that is...

causes discomfort. You know, either someone's dragging or nobody is evenly carrying the load. And so that's why the Lord encourages us, even in marriage, obviously, but I believe this is for every relationship that is near and dear to our hearts is that if they have to be equally yoked, otherwise there's tension, there's disruption, there's

there's anxiousness, there's pain. It's hard to be on the same page as somebody who is not equally yoked. They're not on the same page when it comes to

Just their foundation, y'all. It really comes down to what our foundation is on. And so if your foundation is truly on the Lord, like your whole life, you don't make your own decisions anymore. You're like, no, the Lord makes my decisions. I go to him and I say, God, what do you want me to do today? How can I serve you? How can I serve others? How can I love your children? What do you want me to wear today? Like, what kind of friend do you want me to be today? What kind of mother do you want me to be? What kind of wife, you know? So instead of...

making our own decisions, we go to the father first and we ask him what we're supposed to do in everything. If that's your foundation, it's really important to make sure that the people who are nearest to you, the people that you confide in, these are the people that you seek wisdom from, you know, or you let in to personal things, you know, when it comes to the nearness of the people who are closest to us, they have to be equally yoked.

Now, I feel like we could have a lot of questions in this is like, okay, how do I know if somebody is equally yoked as me? Can they become equally yoked to me? Can that change? Does it have to be like that? First and foremost, how do I know if somebody is equally yoked to me? I feel like that's can be quite obvious. I think that if you believe and truly feel that

Like you guys are on the same page when it comes to just your foundation, your morals, what you live by. There's a good chance you're probably equally yoked. You know, if you guys are living similar ways, you're prioritizing the same things.

there's a good chance that you're equally yoked with that person. Do I believe that somebody could become equally yoked? Yes, of course, I do believe that. But I think that sometimes that can get a little tricky because that's when maybe we, like our flesh, wants to come in and try to take control of that. When that is truly up to, one, the individual, whether they truly, truly want that or not, and two, the Lord.

Truly, honestly, I think first and foremost, it is up to the Lord. Like he's the only one that can sanctify somebody and he's the only one that can truly change somebody's heart, you know? And when it comes to what our foundation is in life, I do believe that's a heart change. I'll just speak for myself, but me,

having a foundation of things that were just not glorifying to the Lord. Nothing was really truly formed off of Jesus. It was just whatever I wanted to do. And the person that I am now where I make it a goal to not make any decisions without considering Jesus.

That was a huge heart change that only the Lord did in me. There were people throughout my life, including my parents, you know, and experiences that planted seeds in my heart that made me go, hmm, at Jesus. And even like I've said before, talk to him from time to time and acknowledge him. But it was literally by the grace of God. It was an actual miracle at the way that my heart changed.

And only the Lord can do that. And so I say that because I know that people can change. Like the way that me and Ashley are equally yoked is only because I changed, you know, and she changed. I mean, the people that we were before, only the Lord, you know? So I do believe that people can become equally yoked with you, but that is not up to...

to us. And I think a lot of times when we start to go down that path of like, "Oh, but they can change and I can help them and you know, like I can help them find the Lord and I'll bring them through a Bible study and we'll do a daily devotional together and I'll make sure that they're going to church and I'll invite them every Sunday and maybe I could even bribe them with like a fun brunch after or something to get them to go." Your heart is in such a good place. Like, God bless you. You have such a good heart. You just want this person to know the truth so bad.

But there is a bit of a slippery slope with that where we're tempted to take matters into our own hands and be God. And yes, could you be planting seeds with those types of things? Of course. But I think the biggest thing that the Lord has taught me and just with maturing in my spiritual growth and just in my journey with the Lord is I've realized that people have to choose Jesus.

on their own. They have to choose Jesus on their own. And that is something I had to do. It didn't matter how many little Bible verses my mom would send me. It didn't matter how many people would say, God bless you. Were those seeds? Yes. But ultimately, like I had to be the one to choose Jesus. And the heart change didn't happen until I said, okay, God, I actually want to take you seriously. I want to see what this is about because I've never tried.

It's a collective effort between the Lord and also that person choosing the Lord. I just think of a few people in my personal life who don't know the Lord and the biggest thing that the Lord has told me to do, which is testing of my faith, y'all. It's testing. But he said, lean back.

There have been times where I've wanted to send text messages or send invitations or be like, hey, let's read the Bible together over the phone. Like I've had those types of thoughts and I've felt the Lord say, if you step in, you're getting in my way. I think it's really important to have that discernment. But other times I have kind of reached out and encouraged somebody out of a place of faith.

and mentioning the Lord and Jesus because I felt it on my heart in that moment. I felt led by the Lord to say those things and plant those seeds. So I think the biggest thing that we can do is we can truly discern whether we are planting a seed out of flesh and out of our own control or if we're planting a seed because we feel the Lord has actually told us to plant that seed. Does that make sense?

I think honestly the biggest gift when it comes to navigating these types of relationships with people who don't believe in the Lord is just literally bringing every single thing that you do and say with that person to the Lord first and say, God, is this me just acting out of control and acting out of my own flesh and just wanting this so badly for them?

or are you actually telling me to do this because I will do it and you know I'll do it because I want them to be saved and I want to be a part of this. Like I want you to use me for them to eventually see your goodness and taste how good you are. I think another thing that we do not realize, and this has been something that the Lord has been revealing to both me and Ashley so much lately, is there is so much power in prayer.

Guys, there is so much power in our faith and prayer. I just cry every episode. Hello, here I am getting choked up. But I have had some of y'all say that you actually were praying for me before I was saved. That I actually had people, strangers from all over the country, maybe the world, I don't know, praying for me and seeing that I was on the brink. And if I had just known Jesus...

everything would have changed for me. And just the fact that people had enough faith to pray for me, I fully, fully believe that that is why I'm here right now. I've started a whole podcast about Jesus. My whole life is about him. And I really believe that it's because of the power of prayer, y'all. You guys were praying for me.

And it's the way that the people who were praying for me didn't know when it would come. They had no idea. They were like, girl, they could have been like, I don't know if it's going to happen in 10 years, Lord. I don't know if you're going to save her tomorrow, but God save Allie Yost. There is power in our prayer and it is up to the Lord ultimately to

But we cannot give up. We can't give up on prayer. We can't throw in the towel and say that it doesn't do anything because I am living proof of that. I don't know how long these people were praying for me. It could have been years, but I am literally walking, living, breathing proof that prayer works. I know that my mom was praying for me. She's told me that. I know my parents were praying for me and it doesn't go to waste.

So we also need to believe in the power of prayer. We have to believe. It's prayer and faith together. Together. Our prayers can't be empty. We have to believe. We have to say, God, I know that you're capable of doing this. Abba, I know you can save this person just like you saved me. I know you can. And I know you will. How about an I know you will save them?

I don't know when. I don't know how. I don't know where. I don't know in what circumstances. Lord, I have no idea. Only you know that. But I know that you're going to save them. Also, it's not Luke 5, 17, although that is another great example because of the faith of the paralyzed man's friends.

when jesus was giving a message and they lowered him through the ceiling it was because of his friend's faith that they were willing to go up on the roof and lower him down that's why he was healed that's a great example but there's another verse that i can't remember i almost want to say it was in the book of job but i could be so off with that but it basically said something around the lines of like even though they don't deserve it i will make

the lowly upright because of your faith or something like that. Basically saying like, because of the favor that you have with the Lord, God will listen to your requests even when it comes to saving the people around you. And it's because of your faith. It's because of the favor that you have with the Lord. It's because...

of the relationship that you have with him, that if you ask him, Lord, I want you to save my mother, he will do it because of the favor that you have with him. Does that make sense? Somebody find the verse that I'm referring to. I know somebody knows it and comment it below if you're watching on YouTube or anywhere else. But that is so real. That is so real. The thing that we need to remember is that the Lord loves us so much that

So much you honestly have to believe in the love of God Do you believe that the Lord loves and adores you if you don't it's a big fat lie. He does He's actually obsessed with you. He is so obsessed with you that he took the time to create you and he was satisfied After creating you he was like, mmm. This is good. I love her. I love him. I

Okay. He's obsessed with you. So if anything, we need to remember and remind ourselves that the Lord loves us so much. He will answer our prayers. He will because he loves you. So whether this person in your life, you're like, God, I don't know if they deserve it. I don't know if they deserved it. They're really, maybe they're an awful person. I don't know. Maybe they are down an awful, awful path, but because of your faith and the favor that you have with the Lord, he's going to say, okay, I'm

I will honor you because I love you and you are faithful to me. And I know how much this person means to you. And also the Lord has love in his heart for that person too. He created that person. He did not originally create them to go down that path, obviously, because he's created every single one of us to have a relationship with him. And so if any of us are walking this planet not knowing

having a relationship with him that was never his plan, you know? But he loves you that much that he would do it. Yeah, I think we just have to believe in the love that the Father has for us and whoever the individual is that we're praying for. But ultimately, y'all, before trying to convince people, before trying to debate them, before trying to defend your Lord and Savior until you're blue in the face, it's adorable and it's an honor and I know he appreciates it. But before all of that,

We need to pray. We need to pray. We have direct access to our heavenly father through the Holy Spirit, through Lord Jesus. We have direct access to the creator of all things. Okay. That's heavy enough in itself. And so why would we not take advantage of that? Why in our right minds do we think that we can do anything out of our little human power to

That would be greater or more productive than communicating and talking with our Heavenly Father who is sovereign and can control all things and is much stronger than any of us.

Sometimes I feel like the enemy tries to make us feel like it's counterproductive because we're not doing anything. Like we're not like moving our limbs and running around and like air quote being productive, but truly praying is actually the most productive thing that we can do because we're asking our father, we're bringing our requests to him, which is Bible. He,

He tells us to do that. Matthew 7, 7, ask and you will receive, seek and you will find, knock and the door will be open to you. All things asked in prayer, the Lord will deliver. Whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it and it will be yours. Mark 11, 24. Another translation is, so I tell you when you pray for something, believe that you have already received it, then it will be yours.

Ashley and I were just watching The Chosen last night. We were watching season four, episode four. We're finally watching season four because it's been a little hard to like watch it low key. Love you, Chosen. But we finally got our hands on season four. Okay. And we're watching episode four. And we were watching essentially Matthew 8 come to life. This is what was happening in this part of the episode. And we were watching Matthew 8 come to life.

When Jesus had entered Capernaum, a centurion came to him asking for help. "'Lord,' he said, "'my servant lies at home paralyzed, suffering terribly.' Jesus said to him, "'Shall I come and heal him?' The centurion replied, "'Lord, I do not deserve to have you come under my roof.'

But just say the word and my servant will be healed. For I myself am a man under authority with soldiers under me. I tell this one, go, and he goes. And that one, come, and he comes. I say to my servant, do this, and he does it. When Jesus heard this, he was amazed and said to those following him, truly, I tell you, I have not found anyone in Israel with such great faith.

Guys,

We need to go back. Look at the centurion said, Lord, I don't deserve for you to come under my roof, but just say the word and my servant will be healed. It was the faith that this person had knowing that Jesus was so Jesus, so God, that he

That he could heal their servant from afar. This centurion had so much faith in Jesus that he knew Jesus didn't even need to step into his house to heal his servant. He said, Lord, I know that all you have to do is say the word. Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh. He said, I know that all you need to do is say the word.

I am not worthy for you to even come into my home. I know you can do it from here miles away. That type of faith was so impressive to Jesus. Jesus can be very pleased with our faith. Actually, it is the Lord's favorite thing is our faith.

When Jesus heard this, he was amazed and said to those following that he has never seen faith like this. Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh. If we're ever trying to get the Lord's attention, first off, we always have his attention because he loves us and adores us. But if we ever wanted to get the Lord's attention, we could definitely do it with our radical faith. We could definitely do it with our faith and prayer. Then Jesus said, go, let it be done just as you believed it would. What happened first?

Before the healing, just as you believed it would happen. It's the belief, the faith that brings the miracles. The Lord will deliver miracles in that type of belief. And his servant was healed at that moment because of his faith. His servant was healed. Y'all, excuse me. This is prophetic that we even watched that episode last night. And we're talking about this because of his faith. The servant was healed from afar.

It's our faith. It's our faith. It's our faith. People had faith that the Lord would save me. It's our faith. It's our faith. People had enough faith to pray for me. It started with people's faith, prayer, bringing it to the feet of Jesus, making our requests known. Their requests were, Lord, please save Alios. She needs you. She's a sad girl. She needs Jesus in her life. God, I'm asking you to save her.

Jesus listened and he saw their faith and here I am. It's true. And so we need to believe in the power of prayer and we need to believe that the Lord loves our faith. He loves it.

And our faith never goes to waste. Can we get disappointed and feel like maybe people would get saved sooner? You know, maybe there's somebody that you've already been praying for for literally years and years and years and years and years, and it hasn't happened yet. Can that get discouraging? Yes, that's real, y'all. That's real.

But we cannot ever believe that our faith is in vain. We can't ever believe that our faith goes to waste and it just goes out the window. It may not make sense now what he is doing, but one day it will. And so that is another thing we always have to remember. And it's hard.

I want to validate some feelings right now. That is hard. Like having to repeat that and okay, yeah, I know that I don't understand now what you're doing, Lord, but one day I will, but that doesn't make it any less painful. And that is real. And I think the one thing that we could do even in that is prayer and bringing that to the Lord and saying, God, I need you to help me with this because I am really feeling discouraged.

You know, like I really, I love this person so much and I don't see anything happening. I don't see a shift in their heart. God, they're still living by their empty ways and they're not fulfilled and they don't know you and they're depressed and they have anxiety and they're suicidal. God, why haven't you saved them yet? You know, like that is so real. And sometimes,

Those simple scriptures, you know, it doesn't necessarily make it any easier. Do we still believe that the Lord will do it? Yeah, but it does get discouraging. And so I think it's really healthy to also bring that to the Lord and say, God, I need your comfort in this. And I need your peace because I want to believe that you are good. And I want to believe that you will save this person.

And you will do something radical in their heart. It will only be a miracle. God, I believe that. But I also need you to comfort me because this is really hard for me to watch. I love this person, you know? And I personally, alios, don't have an answer to why if there's somebody in your life that you have been truly praying for and you've been fighting for and it hasn't happened yet. I don't have an answer for that. But I know for a fact that

That the Lord cares. He does. And he's going to do it. He's going to do it. Actually, we're going to pray right now. All of us, we're going to practice this right now. And we're going to pray together. And we're going to pray with faith.

All he needs is a mustard seed, but girl or boy, bring all the faith that you have in you right now in this prayer. And we are going to shift something in the spiritual realm. We're going to talk to our dad and we're going to say, God, I need you to save this person. I have faith. I've been praying about them.

Or maybe you've never tried to pray for this person before because you didn't think there was any hope. Whatever the scenario is, think of that person or people. There might be multiple people in your life. I want you to think of them right now and we're gonna pray to our Heavenly Father about them together. Where two or more are gathered. Come on, somebody. Where two or more are gathered, the Lord is there and he is listening. Jesus, I just thank you for bringing us all together right now in faith.

God, thank you that you are real. Thank you that you have love for us and the people that we have in mind right now. God, I know that you hear our hearts, Jesus. You hear our hearts. And sometimes even when we don't have the words, Lord, you know the cries of our heart. You know the desires of our hearts. And you know the people in our lives that we want so desperately to know your love.

We want them to know your love because we've been able to taste your love and your goodness and your peace. And so God, we come to you in faith. Okay, repeat after me, everybody. You're going to fill in the blank with the person's name or multiple people, okay? Jesus, I believe that you hear my cries about, Lord, I know that you are going to save them. God, I am asking you. You tell us to ask, seek, and knock.

This is me knocking in faith. God, save this person. I believe that none of my prayers go to waste. I believe that you hear my cries, God. I believe that you are here in the room with me. And I believe that you want to comfort me in this. God, help guide my footsteps on how to handle this relationship with this person. God, I pray that you use me as a vessel to just plant seeds in their heart, in their mind.

Lord, help me approach every situation with calmness, patience, and love. God, help me not overreact or react out of emotion when we have hard conversations. Lord, I pray that every interaction that I have with this person, they feel the tangible love of God. Whether they know what it is or not, they know that there's something different about me because it's you, God. And so, Lord, I also ask you,

to use me as a vessel to plant seeds. God, I know you're going to do it. And I will not stop praying until you do it. I will persistently pray for this person until you do it. You will do it. In Jesus' name, amen. Amen. And that's standing on authority. Oh no, and that's through the authority of Christ. Thank you. He's gonna do it. He's gonna do it.

He's gonna do it. I feel that. He's gonna do it because of your faith. And don't stop praying. This isn't just the one time. Don't stop praying. Keep watching. Keep praying. Because what? You're not finished yet. He's not finished with us, but he's not finished with them yet. You're the on-time God. I think I've sang this before. You love... He loves the what? The impossible.

On time God, you love doing miracles. You're never too late. You never give up. Nothing's too far gone for the on time. And he what? And you always show up. You're never late. He'll always show up. If anyone's curious, that's, I think it's just called On Time God by Maverick and sweet, sweet Abby Gamboa.

Oh, also, this would be really fun. So we say that the Lord does miracles. Do we know the definition of a miracle? Do you guys understand what a miracle is? Miracles can be described as events that go beyond what the natural properties of the created things involved could have produced or as a deviation from the known laws of nature.

an extraordinary event taken as a sign of the supernatural power of God. A miracle is an extraordinary and astonishing happening that is attributed to the presence and action of an ultimate or divine power. So basically, a miracle is something that can only be done by God.

So he loves doing miracles because that's his job. Miracles can actually only happen through the Lord. A miracle by definition can only be done by something supernatural, a divine power. The Lord, he loves doing miracles because he's the only one that can do it. That's God's job. That was a miracle. Yeah, that was God. Me sitting here doing this, a miracle. Only Abba.

And so he's going to do it because he loves you that much. And I pray that this episode boosted someone's faith. How fun that I didn't think that this was actually going to be the entirety of the episode, but it ended up being just that. Thank you, Holy Spirit, for showing up. Whoa. Thanks for showing up, Holy Spirit. That was amazing. Guys, I love you. I believe in you. And I am so grateful to boost each other in faith. Amen? Amen.

Our God is good. Our God is faithful. He's an on-time God and he always shows up. He never gives up on us and he loves us. Okay. I'm proud of you guys. Thanks for doing that prayer with me. Thanks for having faith with me. I know the Lord actually was obsessed with that. I know he was, he loved that so much. He was like, oh my gosh, look at all my little chickens. They're all praying. They believe in me. That's all he asks for. He just wants us and he wants us to believe. Those are our jobs. Be and believe.

Be, leave. That's it. Be and believe. Sure, Allie. Okay, whatever. I love you guys. Hey, can we do something cool this week? Can we do something cool today? Can we show somebody how cool Jesus is today? Yeah, he's pretty cool. He's cool because he's the only one that can perform miracles. He's cool because he's kind and he's cool because he loves.

And he's cool because he's selfless. And he's cool because he lives inside of us. And so let's show somebody that. Let's show somebody how cool Jesus is today. Let's walk like him, talk like him, be just like him. I love you guys so much. And I will see you next Friday in the next episode.
