Hey everybody, welcome back to an all-new episode of Serialistly with me, Annie Elise. We've got Headline Highlights Edition today and guys, we have got so much to talk about. There are so many insane cases going on right now that...

I honestly don't even really know where to start. We've got updates in cases. We've got new cases breaking. We have a very suspicious case that is breaking out of California right now with a missing girl. She's now been found, but like the circumstances around it are beyond suspicious and there's all sorts of red flags. So we're going to talk about that. You may have been following it. It's the Allison Chow case.

But we've got a lot to talk about. Before we jump into some of the new cases, I do want to just give you a quick update with Karen Reed. So last week, a juror from the Karen Reed case, who is referred to as Juror Doe, they retained counsel and they filed an affidavit claiming that this juror, she was in fear for her personal safety. She says she also was in fear of the safety of her family. She wanted the sealing of the juror's names to be extended.

And the juror listed many reasons that have led to her being in fear. But one of the reasons that she listed was that when they were relieved of duty after this mistrial, the jurors were all bussed back to that secret location where they parked each day. And when they got there, she saw what appeared to be media and photographers in the parking lot.

She said that she was in so much fear on her way home that she even pulled over to make sure that she wasn't being followed. So, after her filing, the judge went ahead and sealed the names indefinitely because she wanted to make sure that they were protected. Then, just this last Monday, Karen was back in court for a hearing. This is where there were three dates put on the calendar. The first is for August 9th.

And at that hearing, the judge will hear oral arguments regarding the motion for dismissal that Karen's team filed, claiming that the four jurors, you know, have come forward saying they were all in agreement that she was not guilty on counts one and three. And remember, those are the charges for second degree murder and for leaving the scene of personal injury or death.

So as the judge set that hearing, she also mentioned that she expected an appeal regardless of what her decision is on that motion. The next date that was set is set for January 14th, and this is going to be a pre-trial conference. That before the final date, which is a new jury trial that is set to start on January 27th, 2025.

So the state is retrying Karen. I know they had announced they were, but I thought that after all these jurors came out and said, you know, we were all, you know, in favor and in agreement that she wasn't guilty on these two charges, I thought that maybe there would be something dropped, maybe there would be a deal made, but they are definitely planning on retrying her, which we'll see if that changes as we get closer, but...

That is a ballsy move to me, but I also, again, think it's very ego-driven. That's just my personal opinion. Now, besides those new dates, a reporter by the name of Christina Rex, who works for WBZ-TV, she was in the courtroom during the trial, and she has come out to say that she personally spoke with a juror who wishes to also remain anonymous.

Apparently, this juror also confirmed that they were all unanimous on counts 1 and 3, and said that while the jury considered being more clear in their notes to the judge, they weren't sure on how more specific to be on their decisions regarding those two counts. The juror also said that they were, quote, a soft 9-3 when it came to the manslaughter charge. 9 yes, 3 no.

So it is going to be very, very interesting to see how all of this plays out during the oral arguments, especially since no other jurors have, you know, come out to refute what now these multiple jurors have been claiming. It seems like they all were in agreement and nobody's trying to say otherwise. So it's for sure going to be interesting to see how this all goes forward. Now moving into a pretty disturbing case, there is something coming out this past week about a 12-year-old in Tennessee who,

This 12-year-old was charged with first-degree murder and also with tampering with evidence. Just 12 years old. So 8-year-old Demiria Hollingsworth was spending time at her grandma's house when her and her 12-year-old cousin, whose name has not been released...

They got into this argument apparently over an iPhone, something minor, something stupid. Then apparently after Demirio went to sleep on the top bunk, her cousin used the bedding and suffocated her to death. Then she cleaned her up and repositioned her body. But get this, this isn't even the most disturbing part as if it could get more disturbing because you have a 12-year-old and an 8-year-old and like killing an 8-year-old is just horrific. But get this.

It was all caught on camera. So after the DA's office obtained this recording, they arrested this 12-year-old and they charged her with murder. The DA's office also released a statement on this case and part of it reads, I consider this to be one of the most disturbing violent acts committed by either an adult or a juvenile that my office has ever prosecuted. Due to the horrendous nature of this crime and under Tennessee law, the juvenile court loses jurisdiction after a juvenile turns 19."

and therefore the juvenile would be free from any further detention, from any further supervision, or court-ordered mental health treatment. Our office is petitioning juvenile judge Mark Johnson to transfer the delinquent child to circuit court to be tried as an adult, which allows for lengthier sentences, whether that will be through incarceration or supervision with court-ordered condition. Now, a gag order has been issued in this case, so the details are limited.

and many people are now unable to speak on this case. However, Demiria's mom did speak out, and she said that she hopes that this 12-year-old receives the maximum sentence possible. And it's a very disturbing case, obviously. There is no question about that, but it brings up a whole other host of questions.

because children being tried as adults has been a long debated topic. A lot of people think that it's not right because they're not fully formed, they're not fully developed with their brain chemistry, while a lot of other people are saying, okay, well, depending on the crime, if it is, you know, cold calculated murder and such a heinous crime such as Aiden Fucci or something like that, then it is warranted.

For this one, I don't really know where I sit. I mean, murder is murder and you deserve to pay and you need to be held accountable, absolutely. But if the argument stemmed from an iPhone, something as simple and something as minor as a literal iPhone, if that was the overreaction, to me it doesn't seem like it was something that was premeditated or that this person just wanted to kill and wanted to do that. Not that that excuses anything, but it seems almost as though it's like,

I hate to use this word because it I feel like dilutes what the action was so much but almost overreacted because they're so young and that they just went and did that but I definitely think they need to be sentenced and serve some jail time. Try it as an adult though where who knows what that sentence could be and also a 12 year old in an adult prison. I don't really know. I don't know where I sit with that for this case particularly so I'm curious to know what you guys think.

Now, before we go into the case about Allison Chow, which is just like wild, wild, wild, I want to talk to you about this other case, which takes us to Illinois. A lot of you guys have been asking that I cover this, especially because the body cam footage has been released and it's unsettling to say the least.

But let's talk about it. So shortly after midnight on July 6th, 36-year-old Sonia Massey called 911 to report a prowler at her home in Springfield, Illinois. A prowler is basically a stalker, a lingerer, a peeping Tom, something like that. So after the call, two officers arrived and they walked around Sonia's home.

They found a car with broken windows, and then they knocked on the front door to speak with Sonia. Sonia was seemingly confused, but she answered, you know, their various questions. The officers then entered her home, and one noted that her stove was on. So here's where it gets interesting, because Sonia, who was boiling water, turned off the stove and then lifted the pot of boiling water off the burner. The deputies asked her to stay away from them with that hot water.

But Sonia replied to them, Now after saying this, Sonia stayed in her kitchen, but Deputy Sean Grayson continued to yell at her. Sonia then crouched down, apologized, and the deputies started yelling at her to drop this pot of boiling water. Then Deputy Grayson shot his gun three times, all while the other officer called for emergency medical services.

You better fucking not. I'll fucking shoot you right in the fucking face. Drop the fucking pot! Drop the fucking pot! Drop the fucking pot! Drop the fucking pot!

As I said, the body cam footage from this incident has been released, and it is disturbing absolutely through and through. This other officer had their body cam on for the entirety of the incident and for the aftermath as well, but Deputy Grayson only turned his on shortly after the shooting, and he could be heard telling others who arrived at the scene that he shot her because she came at him with boiling water.

Additionally, when the other deputy said that they should get their med kits to at least, you know, stop the bleeding, apparently Deputy Grayson claimed that that would be useless. I'm gonna go get my kit. You can go get it, but that's a headshot. God damn it. God, fuck. Yeah, I'm not taking a fucking bullet in her fucking head. Hey, look, it fucking came right to her feet, too. God damn it. God damn it. You good? I'm good. You good? Yeah, I'm good.

- Let her fucking just... God, there's nothing we can do, man. - Fuck! - House is clear. She was the only one. - Where's the gun? - No, she had a boiling water and came at me with boiling water. - You shot her? - Yeah.

She said she was going to rebuke me in the name of Jesus and came out with a boiling water. That's what all this is. I'm staying right here. All right. Sonia's family has said that she did suffer from mental health issues, but that she was not a threat. Now, at one point in this body cam footage, Deputy Grayson makes a comment that she was a 1096, which is code for somebody who is suffering from some sort of mental health issue. So according to him, she wasn't in the right state of mind. No, it's just her in the house. She's 1096.

And on top of all of that, initially, Sonia's family thought that an intruder had killed her, all before reading on the internet that it was in fact a deputy who had shot her. And even worse than that, the stories weren't really aligning. Deputy Grayson said she came at him with the boiling water, while other accounts were saying she was crouched down, not moving in the kitchen. And since then, the Illinois State Police have investigated the incident.

And they claimed that the shooting, quote, does not support a finding that Deputy Grayson was justified in his use of deadly force. So Deputy Grayson has since been fired, and the county sheriff's office also released a statement saying, it's clear that the deputy did not act as trained or in accordance with our standards. So not only has he been fired and dropped, but he has also been arrested and charged with three counts of first-degree murder and one count of aggravated battery.

Now, he does have a little bit of a history, not a history of murder, but let me give you the breakdown. So Deputy Grayson has been a police officer since 2020, but he has worked at six different law enforcement agencies in the span of four years. So this, of course, is sparking a lot of questions, right? Because many are questioning why he has switched jobs so often. Some think that it could be because he displayed problematic behavior in the past as well. As of now, he has pleaded not guilty to the charges, and he was denied bond.

So it's going to be interesting to see what happens here, but clearly after a relatively short investigation, they felt like they had enough evidence to say, no, this killing was not warranted. It wasn't in self-defense, and they've now charged him with three counts of first-degree murder. Now let's talk about this crazy case happening in California, because it's literally right in my backyard, actually. It's in Glendale. But it is super suspicious, to say the least.

Let me give you the backstory a little bit, and then I'll tell you where we're at today with this, because it's one that I have a suspicion we are going to be following very, very closely, and we probably will end up doing a deep dive episode into this, which let me know, you know, what you think if you want a deep dive after you hear what I tell you. So on July 16th in Glendale, California, 15-year-old Allison Jillian Chow was reported as missing. She had left her home around 5.30 p.m., and she was riding her bike to her aunt's house, which was about 20 minutes away.

Around 8 p.m. that night, though, Allison's aunt called her father to let her know that Allison never arrived. That was obviously very alarming because at this point it had been nearly three hours and it was only a 20-minute bike ride. So after the police were called, a search began. And then the detectives actually found footage from about 6.23 p.m. on the day that she went missing. The footage showed Allison riding her bike about 15 minutes away from her home.

However, this was the only footage that they could find of her. For a solid week, guys, police were searching for Allison, all while her parents took to social media asking for the public's help, begging for her safe return.

However, this week, on Tuesday, a week after her disappearance, Allison was found alive, which is great, right? I mean, thank goodness. We rarely see that be the case, especially a week later. But it was weird. She was walking the street when somebody driving recognized her and called the police.

So the police department responded to this call, and they located Allison. But there was no explanation of where she has been for the last week. Where she's been, who she's been with, what happened. There is a video circulating that has leaked, and it's a video that Allison actually took the day before she went missing. And from what I can piece together, Allison's parents are separated, and her mother had full custody.

However, Allison wanted to stay with her father. Police arrived with Allison's mother, and they tried to get Allison out of her father's house, but she refused. Take a listen. I'm recording this. Hello. Hi. Soma. Okay. Do you mind opening the door for me, Allison, please? No, sorry. Huh? I think I'm okay. Okay. Do you speak? Okay. Can you open the door for me, please? We're speaking. Huh? We're speaking. Out here. Okay.

I'm right here. Huh? I'm right here. Okay. Do you mind opening the door or? No, I'm okay. Okay. Look, it can't be as easy as you open the door. Why do I need to open the door? Because I do need to speak with you. But I'm speaking with you. Huh? But I am speaking with you. Okay. I need you to open the door so you can come out and speak. I'm right here. Can you do that for me?

No, I'm okay right here. Thank you. I can't hear you. I'm okay right here. Thank you. Okay. We do need to talk. But I feel safer on this side. Huh? I feel safer on this side. You don't feel safe with us out here? I don't feel safe with her right there. Okay. So here's the thing, okay? There's a court order that you need to go with mom. A court order is a court order issued by the judge, okay? So that's why we're here.

Okay, it could go very easily as far as you coming out, you go with mom or the judge will pull you away from both parents. You make that decision.

I'm not going. I'm not going. So both of Allison's parents claim that they don't know where she was during the week that she was missing. A lot of people have been theorizing, of course, that the mom had something to do with this, but there's no indication at this moment of that being the case, no concrete proof. And there's no doubt that I'm happy that she was found safe. We, again, very rarely see that. But something isn't landing here. Where was she for a full week that is unexplained, that...

nobody seems to know that she's not speaking up and saying or it's being kept so tightly under wraps. To me, it has all of the markings of some sort of custodial interference rather than something nefarious. I don't think she was abducted and then returned. I mean, maybe, and I want to say that very loosely because we saw when people jumped to those allegations with Denise Huskins, it was actually the complete opposite. So I want to be careful with what I say.

But there is something that seems off about her mom. And I say that again, just my opinion. Please do your own research. But this is what leads me to believe that we will be doing a deep dive. It might be something as simple as plain outright custodial interference where the mom kept her and was not wanting her to go back to her dad's. We saw in that video that she wanted to stay with her dad. She didn't want to go with her mom. Or possibly it was the dad trying to hide her and keep her from her mom. Who knows?

but we definitely are going to learn more details soon. There's no doubt about that. I'm gonna be honest with you guys, I used to be so mentally checked out because of how tired I was. Now speaking about shady people, liars, weird mysteries, I want to talk about this case that is coming straight out of the Hamptons, one of the wealthiest towns in the country. It's in New York. It's where a lot of New Yorkers vacation, a lot of Florida people vacation. It's like the white parties, the money, the mansions. It's unbelievable. I mean, I was there in the beginning of the summer just for vacation, not because I live there, I freaking wish, but it's like

obscene what you see out there and like how people just live this life normally. It's like a movie. So Brandon Miller is a real estate mogul and he has a wife named Candace who is an influencer. She ran an account called Mama and Tata with her sister and the account shows this extremely lavish life, over-the-top trips, private chefs, $100,000 parties, expensive clothes,

skincare routines, a second home in Manhattan, I mean, you name it. If it's something that they could have, something that they could do, they did it, they had it. They really seemed like they had it all. So in the beginning of July, Candace was vacationing in the Amalfi Coast with their two daughters and having a great time. Meanwhile, Brandon was back at home. And while his wife and his two daughters were jet-setting in Europe and vacationing and having this great time,

A local fire station was alerted to a carbon monoxide alarm that was going off in his $8 million house in the Hamptons. When they arrived and came to the scene, he was found unconscious in the garage, in his car. He was rushed to the hospital, but unfortunately when he got there, he went on life support. And despite life-saving measures, Brandon could not recover and he died in the hospital. Obviously a horrible tragedy, yes.

But here's the thing, since Brandon's death, things have been coming out painting a picture of the family that most people didn't quite see coming. So while Candace was running her social media account, Brandon had been working in real estate development. His dad founded Real Estate Equities Corporation, which Brandon began working at at a very young age, and most recently he was the managing partner.

But even though he had such a big role in such a large company, it seems like prior to Brandon's death, he had been having some really deep financial issues. And I'm talking very deep financial issues, to the tune of $17 million in debt. I mean, severe financial issues.

So it seems like this fairytale life that they were portraying wasn't really anything like a fairytale. Apparently, the $17 million that Brandon was in debt for came after Brandon had asked his friends in their social circles to loan him money, all so that he could buy a new building in downtown Manhattan. However, eventually, the building ended up being sold to somebody else, leaving Brandon to have to come up with an explanation of where all of that money went. And that wasn't the only financial trouble that Brandon had dealt with.

Back in 2016, after his father died, he learned that his signature had been forged onto loan documents by his father's assistant at his father's direction. This ended up putting Brandon into a multi-million dollar lawsuit just a couple years later, which ended up being settled.

Then, in 2022, Brandon faced another lawsuit, this time by TD Bank, who said that he and his mother fraudulently transferred money to keep the bank from collecting $2.1 million from his mother. Now, in the months prior to his death, he was faced with a couple more lawsuits.

One for $55,000 by a marina in the Hamptons claiming he didn't pay his docking fees. Then another one for a little over $100,000 by an interior marketing group for not paying furniture rentals and for not returning $64,000 worth of items.

So, I mean, it's obvious that they were living way beyond their means. They were living as if they were making this unlimited amount of money when, in reality, they just, they weren't. It's unclear if Candace knew what their financial situation was or if it had been hidden from her, but some people believe that Brandon took his own life due to the pressure of trying to keep up with Candace's desires to look a certain way on social media.

Remember that account that I mentioned that she was running? Well, it was deleted shortly after Brandon's death. Other people are saying that there was probably more to the story, and that Brandon was likely worried about going to jail for embezzlement for all of that money that he had borrowed. But regardless, I mean, it's a really sad story, and it's even sadder that not only did Brandon's two little girls just lose their dad, but also their lifestyle is most likely going to significantly change after all of this.

Not that I think that that's anything they care about, but they're going to have a huge jolt in just their lifestyle, their everyday activities. They've lost their dad. Their whole world is crumbling down. And I am curious to see if Candace makes her way back to social media at any point, or if she's going to just like call it quits and be done forever after this. But it's so sad that people feel like they need to keep up with the Joneses all the time. So much to where you're in so much debt, just trying to keep your head above water, and then you feel like there's no way out.

besides taking your own life, leaving your wife and little girls behind, it's really sad. And that kind of is a perfect segue into another selfish father person that I want to talk to you about because we're talking about J.P. Miller again today with the Micah Miller case. So last week an interview with J.P. Miller was released and let me just say guys, it was wild.

If you aren't familiar with J.P. Miller, I will link the full episode in the show notes so you can listen. But just as a quick recap, J.P. is a pastor who was married to Micah Miller, who took her own life back in April. The two of them were going through a divorce, and after Micah's death, a

ton of evidence came out to support that Micah's marriage to JP was actually very toxic and very abusive, which many people believe led directly to her suicide. So in this interview, JP essentially blamed Micah's family for her death. He claimed that with him, she was good and healthy, both mentally and physically. But with her family, she wasn't. Did you feel, did you see this coming? Yes, but it doesn't change at all the power of

of the pain of reality. I saw it coming for years. I told them for years this would happen. I said, "If she gets off her medicine,

Suicide is the next thing. She tried it in the past, but with me, she always remained okay with me. She was on her meds with me. She was healthy and happy. And even if she did get lower, stopped taking her medicine, I would help her get back on it and things would be fine. Without me and with her family, she's off meds and she committed suicide. And I told them this would happen over and over again.

I tried my best to stop her from getting a gun. I went to judges. I have copies of all the police I talked to, her counselor, the pastor she was going to.

her family, her friends. I told them all, don't let her get a gun, do whatever it takes, prevent her from getting a gun. And when she was with me, she was never able to go that far. But with them, that's exactly what happened. And it destroyed me. And I still, honestly, I still haven't really grasped it. Like it hasn't, I kind of keep putting off the reality of it. And I'm

I try not to think about it as much as I can. According to JP, Micah apparently confided in a friend about two years prior to her death that if she ever was going to take her own life, she was going to be doing it at Lumberton, which is where she did end up taking her own life in the end. Well, the Lumber River State Park. JP also talked about the moment he found out that Micah was dead from who he believes was a detective. Well, I didn't think it was real. I thought her family had made it up and had somebody...

call me and say that. So that's one big thing. I didn't think it was real. When I found out it was real, you know how like, you know, like you tell somebody something, you tell them, you tell them, you tell them, you tell them. Then when it happens, you don't want to say, I told you so, because it's a horrible thing. That's what I felt like. I felt like I told y'all, like I told her family this so many times you can't imagine. I told her friends this. I told everybody. I said, if y'all don't get her her lithium, she's going to commit suicide.

Her doctor told her this on paperwork where her doctor said this. And then when I get the call, I felt like the world's biggest failure because I spent the past three months when her family got her out of the hospital and didn't bring her home. And her dad talked her into buying him a car and all this stuff was happening. It was all crazy.

I made a vow that I was going to do something every single day to try to get her back on her lithium and save her life. And so every day I did something. Sometimes I did four or five, six, seven things. Some days it's just one thing. But every day, whether it was an email, a text, visit someone, talk to a family member, talk to a friend, go somewhere, go to a judge, go to probate. I'm going to do something to save her life. And I spent every single day for those three months doing that. So getting that phone call made me feel like the world's

greatest failure. He also confirmed that he tried to raise Micah from the dead, which is just so bizarre to say the least. When asked about his marriage with Micah, he tried saying that as long as she was on her medicine, they had the greatest marriage that you could ever imagine, and that every night they would spend two hours of uninterrupted time together, either in the bathtub, laying on a mattress in the back of the truck with hot chocolate, or laying on the beach for two hours, which is

First of all, I call bullshit because find the time, my friend. Two hours uninterrupted time every day to do these like weird rom-com type activities and two hours in a bathtub.

gross first of all but like I just don't believe what he's saying I think he's trying to portray some sort of like perfect marriage which if you're truly married you probably know the reality of that happening is unlikely I mean at least in my marriage we're hard-pressed to find 30 minutes of uninterrupted time together but like two hours daily to then like sit in the back of the truck with hot chocolate or sit in a bathtub together like it's honestly just laughable maybe you guys have better marriages than me I don't know but whatever so

So then when JP was asked the most hard-hitting question, his response was literally shocking. Have you ever abused your wife? Never, not once in any way, shape, or form. I took...

better care with anybody could ever take care of her. I never made her asked her to clean the house not once in seven years of marriage. She never had to cook a single meal. She never had to work. She was never harmed physically in any way. In a letter or in an email you wrote to Micah, you apologized. Yes. Right? You apologize for hiring for tracking her, for messing with her tires, for posting the picture.

So that's all true, right? - So if I wanted, great question. I'm so glad you asked that actually. If I wanted to lie about that, I would just say I never wrote the letter, right? 'Cause how can you prove that I wrote somebody a letter? There's no signature, there's no name, it's not in my handwriting, but I 100% wrote the letter. And I did it because the night that she was with me, the last night we were together for four hours,

At one point, because the whole four hours I'm trying to get her to take her medicine. And then she said, my family doesn't want me to. They don't want me to come inside the house. Maybe it's your house. Come inside. So if I don't get to the point, she says, you know what? I'll take my medicine and I'll come home if you'll give me $10,000 and if you'll write me an apology letter. So let me understand this correctly. The letter, the email that you wrote to Micah apologizing for hiring a PI, tracking her.

messing with her tires and posting a topless photo of her. You wrote that, you say. Yes, I did. But now you're saying that you didn't actually do these things. I did the PI thing. But so over the years, what I've learned with her is when she's in a delusional state of mind situation,

I have to play into it in order to get her to get her back on medicine. So the first year or two when she'd say something, I'd say, "That's not true. That's not real." She'd get mad and blow up and, you know, knock a hole in the wall or something like that. So then by December 2019, I think it was, we were watching TV, and she just stopped and said, "You're a double agent." And I said, "No, I'm not." She says, "Yes, you are." She said, "And I'm gonna call the police. You're a double agent. You've stolen my things, and I'm gonna put you in jail."

And I was like, oh my goodness, what'd I do? She hadn't been taking her medicine. So just to be clear,

You wrote this to Micah, but now you're saying you didn't do those things. No, I did not slash the tire. I don't think there was a naked picture of her anywhere, ever. I think that was just a made-up thing. And I think that her tire just got something ran over from what I understand. I don't know. I didn't see anything. But I did hire the PI before. I did everything I could to stop her from getting a weapon, everything you could imagine. I hired a private eye, and I said, put a tracker on her car, and if she gets anywhere near a gun store, please let me know.

Now, honestly, that's kind of a lot to unpack. Just because you never make your wife clean the house or she doesn't have to cook or she doesn't have to work, which, side note, Micah did work, she was employed by the church, it doesn't mean that it wasn't an abusive marriage. And I also find it very difficult to believe somebody like JP would admit to things that he didn't do, like posting a topless photo of her.

Plus, you also have the indication and allegations and what some people are saying is proof of all of this abuse, which has been released since Micah's death. But the last half of the interview was one of the more bizarre things that I probably have ever seen. Do you feel that you did anything that you would change? Do you feel any part responsible? God, that's a great question. Man, that's such a good question.

Wow, what a good question. Can I have a second to think about it? Sure. Okay. Oh my gosh, that's such a good question. What would I do differently? Oh man. Oh, I know

Oh, I know what I do. I know what I do. I know what I do. I would not involve her family when she's having mental episodes and is schizophrenic and, you know, is off her meds. I would never have texted them. It's really sad to see him basically blaming her family for everything, when everything else has really shown that their marriage was anything but, you know, the greatest marriage that he's trying to sell. And since that interview was released, Micah's family has also done their own interview with NewsNation.

saying they have their own evidence to prove that he lied throughout his whole interview. Micah's sister said that Micah's mental health issues only started after she married JP. And they also shared a video that Micah had taken herself of her and JP in a very heated argument at a car dealership.

They also touched on the abuse that Micah allegedly suffered, and Micah's attorney said that Micah had even talked about all of that with her prior to her death. So at this point, no one really knows where all of this is going to go in terms of any potential criminal charges or any other civil lawsuits, but it is definitely something that I will continue to keep an eye on and keep you updated on as new information emerges, because Micah's family has been devastated.

constantly requesting that her story continue to be shared. They're trying to raise awareness. They're trying to get answers.
