Anytime my kids get anything from anyone, I immediately turn into that cringy mom that’s like “and what do you say????” And every dang time, I’m expecting them to give a big hug and enthusiastic THANK YOU! And almost every time, I get some sort of sheepish mumbled "thank you" at best. I know I'm not the only one!
And it got me thinking, my kids can say "thank you" regardless of whether they deeply experience gratitude. Do I really just want my kids to say the words, or do I want it to be deeper than that – do I want them to really embody a life of deep gratitude?
Gratitude is an internal experience. In today's episode, I teach about the four parts of gratitude (notice, think, feel, do) and how we can foster them in our children.
