Firstly the housemistress at her boarding school in Gloucestershire, in the 90s who fiercely defended her right to stay and avoid another expulsion. Her Grandparents idyllic home and garden, aptly named Cottage on the Green in a beautiful, sleepy Somerset village. Plus the gratitude she attributes to her fountain pen. A much treasured possession that she uses to journal her family memories and the client notes, which she documents daily with pride and precision.
