Schools often store some form of energy that is yet to be detected, measured, or identified. This could be a supernatural energy, possibly due to the many lives and experiences that have occurred within their walls.
John saw a dark, saucer-shaped aircraft hovering over his house. The top of the craft was stationary while the bottom rotated, and it tilted slightly from left to right. Inside a window, he and his friend thought they saw a figure.
Felicia saw two children dressed in Native attire starting a fire outside her window. Later, she experienced objects being moved and lights turning on and off. One night, she felt her bed shaking and saw a figure made of water peeking out of her bathroom.
Mr. Aragon saw a black, pillar-like shape moving in a zigzag pattern, gliding across the ground without discernible arms or legs. It passed through an open gate and disappeared.
Dalton saw a tall, fast-moving figure, approximately six feet tall, running through his backyard at night. The figure maintained its height and moved faster than any person he had seen.
Gloucestershire has a long history of UFO sightings, with dozens of major sightings reported over the years. Notable events include the Standish Incident in 1645 and numerous sightings in the 1970s and 1990s, including a rugby ball-shaped object similar to what Joel saw.
Indrid Cold is an alien or interdimensional being who first made contact with Woody Derenberger in 1966. He is known for his huge, ear-to-ear grin, which has been reported in similar encounters, such as Erin's sighting in Georgia and an anonymous caller's experience in Ohio.
Woody Derenberger was driving on Interstate 77 when an unidentified flying object forced him to stop. A man named Indrid Cold stepped out of the object, greeted Derenberger, and assured him they meant no harm. The encounter was mostly mental, with no spoken words.
Matthew saw a pancake-shaped entity pounding on his window as an infant. Later, as a child, he saw a hash brown-shaped, black entity approaching him from under his bed, which retreated when he screamed.

Good evening and welcome to Monsters Among Us. I'm your guide, Derek Hayes.
Thank you for joining us here this evening. I've got a good one for you. All kinds of weirdness in store for you here tonight. And since I'm not one for chit-chat, let's just get after it. Star from Missouri, welcome to tonight's program.
Hi, I've called before, probably several months ago. I went by my middle name, Star, and I never said what state I was from, so I apologize. I'm from Missouri. Anyways, I happen to be at the place that I'm going to tell you the story about right now, and I'm all by myself, so it's kind of spooky. I work at a school.
Right now, currently, and I clean. I'm a custodian. And this place gets really spooky when you're by yourself at night. Like, I think buildings that are big and empty with only, like, one or two people in it, it's always just super creepy. There's something just really inherently creepy about it. And...
There's been many nights where I end up stuck by myself and I don't frankly like it as much as I am a fan of all things spooky, like a freak about all things spooky. Being completely alone in this building just gets me. I don't know why, but there was one night I was all by myself and I
I was done with everything. I took my headphones off. I was using the restroom and I knew there was nobody else but me. And I heard while I was using the restroom, the specific sound of the doors opening. I know that sound. I know it. It opened and I heard footsteps and I heard keys jingling. And I thought to myself,
Did one of my coworkers come back for some reason? Like, what's going on? So I finish up in the restroom and I get out.
And I step out, and I'm listening, and I hear nobody. I hear nothing. I call out. I say, does one of you guys come back? Like, where are you? Nothing. I come down to our boiler room, which is our office. I peek in. I call out. Nothing. No one. There's nobody here. It just really got me. It really got me because...
I heard it. I know I did. I obsessively listen to your podcast and other spooky podcasts on a constant basis while I work. So I know I have that in my heart. I have that in my soul and in my brain with me all the time. But I swear that I legit heard that. And I know I can't explain it. But I do know that a custodian did die here for real. One of my old bosses, when I first started here...
He actually found the guy dead. He died of a heart attack up in the library and his vacuum was still on and it was burning a hole in the carpet. I mean, that was a traumatic experience, no doubt, to find him there like that. So I don't know if it was him, residual or what, but it was something else. This place is pretty spooky. Lots of weird noises, lots of...
things that could probably be explained away otherwise, but yeah, I don't know. Crazy, but anyways, thank you for listening to me. I really appreciate it. I appreciate everything that you do and have a great night. Thank you. Bye. Thank you, Star. I think I know why you had that feeling there. Because most schools seem to have some sort of energy stored in them. If I've said it once, I've said it a thousand times.
A lot of schools are haunted, or at least seem to be. Or like I said, they somehow store some sort of energy that we've yet to detect, measure, or identify. A supernatural energy, if you will. And you know I don't envy you, Star, working that building at night, alone, with it all empty like that. I think it's best to turn those headphones way up and put on another episode of M.A.U.,
I don't see that going wrong in any way. Well, either way, Star, we thank you for calling in. And watch your back out there. Well, remember that I know nobody likes this answer, but you know this. Now folks, what would be worse than seeing a ghost at work? Maybe seeing an alien while out playing in your yard. John from Colorado, welcome to the program. Hey Derek, this is John from Colorado. This happened between the time I was 9 and 12 years old.
Somewhere in that time frame, I know I was a very young kid. One day, we were playing out in the front yard and we're riding bikes because we built a ramp that we were just jumping around on, being kids, trying to be the BMX experts that we always thought we could be, right? And this day, when we built ramps and we were jumping around, there was a weird thing that happened. And I don't know what prompted this, but...
I just want to say, as a disclosure, in Colorado Springs, there are five military bases that have existed here since the early 30s, the early 50s, and the early 70s. They've maintained these military bases here for a very long time.
And I see weird aircraft all the time. And I've lived here for 30 years. I've seen them all the time. I've seen the B-2s, the B-17s, the F-22s, you name it. I've seen it fly over the city. I've recorded it. I've recorded these different planes. And I studied to be in the Air Force at one point in time. So I know the specs of these aircraft because I wanted to study and be a fighter pilot. I didn't make it, but I tried. So...
One day as we're playing outside and we're going on the ramps and having fun, for some reason I had the urge to look over my house. And during the week, I remember seeing B-17s and B-2s and stuff flying over the house, not on this day, but it was like three or four days before.
But when I looked over my house, there was something weird just floating over my house, like far up in the distance. But the line of sight was right over my house. And it's just this thing that's just sitting still in the air during the day on a blue sky day with no clouds. Stood out like a sore thumb.
It was a dark aircraft, like probably dark gray, black, whatever, just super dark. I could see enough, this thing was close enough to where I could tell that the top of it was stationary while the bottom rotated, and it's in the shape of a saucer. I'm like, okay, I've never seen that before. Everything I've seen before at this point moves across the sky. How is this thing standing still? The only thing that could do that is a helicopter. So why is this happening?
And as this thing stands still, it doesn't move. It kind of tilts from left to right a little bit, just ever so slightly that you can tell. But there was something in a window that I was looking at. And I look over at my best friend. I'm like, dude, do you see that?
And he goes, yeah, what is that? And what's that thing standing in the window? And I looked at it. I'm like, I don't know. I called my mom over. I yelled at her to come over and she saw the same thing and saw something standing in the window. Like it's really small in the sky, but you can just tell that something's there. And then me and my best friend, we were just being weird.
And we decided, do I pledge allegiance to the UFO and stuff like that? You know, again, I was like 9, 10, or 11. I can't remember. I was super young. But we were saying the Pledge of Allegiance to this thing, and then all of a sudden, it shot off.
faster than anything I could ever imagine. Just gone. Fades through the blue of the sky and it is gone forever. And me and my brother looked at each other like that was extremely weird, but okay. And we went on with our day. I mean, again, I've thought about it every once in a while, but I thought I'd share another story with you, man, because it was just another weird part of my life. But keep up what you're doing, Derek. It's always good. Can't wait to hear more stories. Anyways, keep it spooky, guys. Bye. Bye.
Thank you for calling in, John. The Pledge of Allegiance, the only logical response to a close encounter of the third kind, makes perfect sense. Now, you know, John, you're not the only one to see a pilot of some sort in a passing UFO. That sort of thing has been reported a few times prior. For example, Betty and Barney Hill reported seeing figures looking at them through the windows aboard the craft that they claimed abducted them. And this phenomenon has even been caught on video.
In 2009, a man in Turkey caught a video of an unknown craft that appeared to show two alien greys looking through the window. I've linked to the video if you want to take a closer look. It's over in the show notes at MonstersAmongUsPodcast.com. But lower your expectations, because it's pretty blurry. Either way, you're not alone on this one, John. And hopefully stories like yours continue to flow in. Because let's face it, an alien sighting
It's downright incredible. Thank you again, John, for sharing the phone call. Now, folks, if you have a call you would like to share here on the program, true stories only, give our hotline a call at 888-608-NIGHT. That's 888-608-N-I-G-H-T. Now folks, a while back I told you about a quick trip to Tucson that Sarah and I took a few months ago. And while we were there, we learned that the place is pretty strange. Well, I didn't exactly need more proof, but Felicia is here to add to the strangeness.
Hello, my name is Felicia and I'm from Tucson, Arizona. I have two stories to share, one a brief encounter and one a little bit extended. I bought this home in a historic district in Tucson at the base of a mountain and it was a 1907 bungalow, white little bungalow with a big porch and big steps in front. And I thought I found that perfect home.
Well, about a month into my stay, I woke up in the middle of the night for no reason. I'm a deep sleeper, so I don't usually just wake up.
Anyway, I rolled over and looked out my front window. My bedroom had a front window available so I could see the house in front of me. And I saw children. I saw a young girl with long hair, rather skinny, maybe about seven, eight, and a little boy younger, four or five. And they were starting a fire. And I blinked and I looked because I realized that they were dressed in very normal,
Native attire. Tucson has a number of Native communities, Yaqui community, Tolon O'odham community. And it looked like the pictures you see in the 1800s. And I'm thinking this and they turn around and they look at me and then disappeared.
I was living alone and I was in absolute shock. And the next morning I spoke to my father and he had told me of a similar story when he was going on a fishing trip near Patagonia Lake. So that's the first one. The second one, same house.
I was there another few months and I started noticing things being moved around in the home. I'd come back, the bread was in a different spot. I'd come back, the lights were on. And so there was stuff going on. And at first I thought it might be, I don't know, the two children that I saw.
But as things started developing, I got more stories. And people would come over and say things like, did you just see that man? I'm like, what man? My cousin's like, I saw a man go through your bedroom. I'm like, no. But it started happening more often. Anyway, about that time, my boyfriend decided to move in with me. And this boyfriend eventually ended up being my husband. And he started having situations. I hadn't told him about it.
And he didn't tell me for another couple months. So one night we started sharing stories because the lights kept flipping on and off. Well, anyway, we're living there together for a little bit. And I go to get my hair done at a beauty salon. And I decide to tell the beautician what's going on because you're in a chair and you start telling stories. Well, the lady next to me goes,
She goes,
And after they passed, sounds like my uncle's. I said, oh, no, that can't be. I do live on Melrose, but I live in a white house. Then I remembered that I painted it brown. So she confirmed the situation because it was a family member, an uncle named Trucking, and his brother, who was a mail carrier. He worked for the post office. Anyway, I was just amazed that I had that history of my house. So...
One night I'm in bed and this is where things got really, they were fine until that night. They got scary. I'm in bed and I feel the bed shaking.
My boyfriend was a fireman at the time, so he wasn't there. The bed was shaking, and I thought maybe I was having a seizure, but I realized it wasn't me. It was the bed, and at the foot of my bed, I saw something move to the bathroom. I looked to the bathroom, and out of the bathroom, I saw a figure peek out, like two hands on the frame, and they picked his head out and then peeked it in, and it felt like he was giggling. And what was interesting is he looked like he was made out of water.
So,
Thank you, Felicia. Like I said, Tucson seems to be a magical place.
Just ask anyone that's from there. They'll happily tell you. And as for the encounter, I can't tell if these two occurrences are somehow related or if the area is just so charged with energy that several different ghosts come out to play. Whatever the cause, we're thankful that you shared here with us, Felicia. Thanks again for calling in. Now folks, I have many more mysterious experiences to share here with you this evening. But first, we gotta pay a couple bills.
We'll be right back. I don't know if you've noticed, but the days are getting shorter, but our to-do list stays the same size. It's a lot of fun, isn't it? Hi there, Derek. You can call me Mr. Aragon. Love your podcast. Just thought I'd call in with a story here. I am calling out of Moorpark, California, and I wanted to tell you a quick story. So about 10 years ago, this would have been about 2015 or so, I was going on a little run from a neighborhood here in Moorpark called Hitch Boulevard.
And between Hitch Boulevard and my normal running path, there was this area that was kind of referred to as a buffer zone that separated the unfortunately unlit side of Hitch Boulevard to the well-lit, more recently developed housing areas. And the name of that street is lost on me right now. So sorry about that. Anyway, so...
About 2015, I'd say early summer, I was going on the jog and on my way back, I wasn't quite in the best shape. So I kind of stopped to take a knee. Now, at the time, these jogs I used to take were usually fairly later in the day. So seven, eight o'clock at night, more or less. So by this time, the sun was already down and it was a full moon, at least that I can remember.
and it was a fairly well visibility. And during that little knee break that I took, I, for whatever reason, got the sense to just look back, just take a look behind me. And I don't know if you can tell, but I'm kind of nervous talking about this. So in that bumper zone that I mentioned earlier, there are two gates. Now, one gate that was on the side to the more developed area had a door open on there.
And another gate that was for the older hitch area had an open door. And what I saw was this black shape. I'm really not entirely sure how to describe it. It didn't appear to have any visible arms, legs, or anything that I can discern as appendages that was moving in this strange zigzag pattern. Uh,
And this pattern, I would describe as if its movements were just like it was gliding across the ground. I didn't see anything that was like indicated steps or anything like that. And this thing, the gate's probably about seven feet tall, I guess. And originally, I was just kind of befuddled looking at it. And I stared for a second before it went through the open door on the gate heading towards my direction. And
So from there I just kind of turned around and booked it back home because I wasn't willing to deal with that. So ran home, got back and I waited there for a while thinking is this thing gonna catch up to me? I don't know what it is but it never did. I have no idea what the heck that was. Maybe somebody out there knows something that matches that description.
But yeah, no discernible shape, gliding movement, other than I guess I always kind of refer to it as a pillar. And it was coming towards me. Anyway, Derek, that's about it. Love the podcast and thank you for your time. Thank you, Mr. Aragon. What you're describing here sort of sounds like a dust devil, which is basically just a tiny tornado. 10, 15, 20, 30 feet tall. Something like that.
You'll often see them whipping through dry fields, desert flats, frozen snow-covered open areas. Anywhere with small particles and a lot of wind. But you know it's kind of hard to misidentify a dust devil. I think we all know what those look like. You would think that Mr. Aragon would have noticed all the wind that created the tiny tornado. The wind is how that thing came to be in the first place. Second, they're not all that uniform.
Like a tornado, they twist and turn, juke and jive, and move in an unpredictable pattern. And they're not all that solid either. Typically, you can sort of see right through one. So in retrospect, I guess it doesn't sound anything like a dust devil. I think I just talked myself out of it. But outside of that, I have no idea what this could have been. But I'm hoping that one of you listening might. If that's you, reach out to us. 888-608-KNIGHT
or MonstersAmongUsPodcast at gmail.com. And of course, I'll let you know what we learned, Mr. Aragon. But until then, thanks again for calling in. Now folks, time is running out. If you're hoping to pick up something from our shop for the holidays, you'd better get that order in ASAP. The last day to order to guarantee arrival before Christmas is December 18th. Now you know that last one from Mr. Eragon could have been some sort of armless, legless monster. I say that because Dalton's call here from Virginia certainly seems like a monster of some sort.
Hey, Derek. I really like your show. My name's Dalton Ray. I'm calling from Natural Bridge, Virginia. You might be able to hear my dog barking in the background because this just happened with him. I have a fenced-in yard. It's a welded fence. I let my dog out every night so he can do his thing. And I guess I let him out a little while ago, and he started barking. Not anything crazy, but just really started getting into it, really barking heavily and growling. He's not really a growler.
So I thought, you know, it could be anything out there. It's nighttime. And granted, I don't have my glasses on. But he's just getting wild up there, barking, getting mean. And I started watching him.
the woods towards where he's barking at. We live kind of in the middle of nowhere and there's a field. At night time there's a lot of activity and possums and such. But I'm looking out in that field as my dog Manda's barking and I see something very tall, probably at least six feet, going pretty fast through the field. And my first thought was that it was a deer, maybe a big deer jumping up, putting it to that elevation.
But the intensity moving remained at that height the entire time, scaling the field very, very fast. I'd say running faster than any person I've seen run. But I just thought it was a crazy story. Spooky things happen to Appalachians. But I love your show, man. My dog Maynard likes your show. Have a good one, man. Thanks, Dalton. And thank you, Maynard.
6 feet tall, running through the brush in the dark behind Dalton's house. It's probably a monster, right? Whatever it is, it's definitely creepy and not something you want to run into in your backyard. But you know, Virginia is not exactly well known for Sasquatch sightings, which let's be honest, that's what this sounds like it could be. But that said, Sasquatch sightings in the Old Dominion aren't exactly unheard of either.
A Virginia man claims he spotted Bigfoot and he has the video to prove it. Finally, somebody. We're going to let you be the judge. Take a look. This is the YouTube video. Can you see real closely there? Yeah, that's Bigfoot. It was supposedly shot near the intra... Did you say that's Bigfoot like you've seen him before? Yeah. Okay. I watch those Bigfoot shows. All right. This was shot apparently near the Intracoastal Waterway earlier this month. Randy O'Neill says he captured the images...
With his cell phone while he was camping with his dad, he says he saw red eyes watching them from the woods. So he claims he fired a shotgun, heard something scream and go crashing through the trees. O'Neal says he and his father experienced a similar encounter some 25 years ago. Now that clip courtesy of WTTG, Fox 5 out of D.C. And spoiler alert, the photo, in my opinion, simply shows a burned up stump or what's left of it.
A stomp that's vaguely Bigfoot shaped. But if you pay close attention, it never moves. And in certain angles, it doesn't even look 3D. And the story that the photographer delivered, it doesn't exactly match up either. The photos were taken in the middle of the day. So how exactly did they see red eyeshine if it wasn't even dark? The Virginia forests are thick, but they're not that thick. Well, despite that,
There are other more credible sightings that have taken place in the Commonwealth, but I'll let you discover all those on your own. Until then, thanks again, Dalton, for sharing your entry. All right, listeners, for this next one, we need to board a plane or a boat because we're going overseas. Joel from the UK, we're all ears.
Hi Derek, just like to say thank you very much for your podcast, very good. Hopefully this gets to you in time and it's not too long. Anyway, when I was a child, seven years old, I remember I was watching TV downstairs and there was a knock on the door, a very frantic gentleman who lives up the road called Ray. He said, come outside quickly, we've been watching this for half an hour now, it all ran outside. I wish I'd left the TV set earlier but I didn't, I ran outside now.
Our house was next door to four other houses. Now all of us were in the garden, all of the people he knocked on all the doors. So there was probably about 10 to 15 adults, I'd say, and about four kids out in the back garden watching this thing. Now we all pointed up and looked up and there was basically an elongated rugby football in the sky.
bright bright orange not a sound i could actually hear the road the motorway in the background now this is what's quite strange because people must have seen this thing fly over the motorway because it would have had to have flown over the main a40 at the time we could hear the cars in the distance now this thing flow very slowly
along the line of the telegraph poles. Now I could see it, the light emanating down one side of the telegraph pole. I can actually see it in my mind now and I remember I took a measurement from it to sort of say that it was about the same length or height of the telegraph pole. This thing that thing advanced across the field, stopped, blinked, disappeared.
then it suddenly reappeared as if in the blink of an eye across the other side of the village and did the same thing. Now apparently this is what it had been doing all day or evening sorry. Now the time must have been probably about seven o'clock. I was seven years old so that would have been in sort of late 70s.
I was ushered back into the house. Now, the main thing I like to preface with this, I asked the adults what was this. They couldn't answer me. They did not know. Which has always stuck with me because the adults are the ones, the responsible ones. They need to give me the answers. They need to reassure me and tell me that everything was okay, that it was an airship, that it was a plane. No, nobody had an answer. I even asked my dad today and he still says, I don't know what it was.
Now, basically, since then, and I think with everybody that's experienced these, and everybody that listens to your podcast that has had these experiences, my mind has been open. And I think this is what has to happen. I think this is what is happening, that everybody's mind is being opened. And we need to understand that there is something more. And the paranormal is not paranormal until we understand it, basically. It's something that we don't understand. I don't want to go too deep on our tangent, but...
That's one of them. Thank you for your time, and hopefully I'll hear it on the podcast. Signing off, Joel from Gloucestershire, Cheltenham, UK. Thank you, Joel. Now, as soon as he mentioned Gloucestershire, alarm bells suddenly went off in my head because I'd heard of that town somewhere before. Something UFO-related. Then after a little digging, it finally dawned on me what it was. The place is an extreme UFO hotbed.
Dozens of major sightings have been reported from that area over the years, and several different flaps have occurred there. In fact, I asked our fearless researcher Delaney Bowers to put together a quick timeline including some of those major sightings. Now this is for the county of Gloucestershire, which includes Gloucestershire. And here's that list. In 1645, there was the Standish Incident, where farmers witnessed a craft land and then take off.
1975: A well-lit structured craft flies over a house. 1975 as well: Stationary UFO hangs above the police mast, then shoots across the sky. 1976: A cross-shaped UFO rotates slowly above a motorway before floating away. Also 1976: A three-pronged UFO with a barbell appendage floats above the village.
In 1978, a Red Tower UFO with six yellow lights hovers for an hour before disappearing. August 1st, 1995, one white and one orange craft bob up and down. On April 4th, 1996, two white lights fly over GCHQ intelligence base at breakneck speed. Also on April 4th, 1996, a dome-shaped object with multi-colored lights hovers for two hours.
April 17th, 1996, a silver cigar-shaped craft flies over the motorway. June 11th, 1996, strange pigskin-colored creature with large ears is seen on the side of the road. July 29th, 1996, a black boomerang or crescent-shaped craft flies overhead. August of 96, over the span of one week,
four white lights hover in the sky, and a small orange oval sweeps left to right in the sky. In other words, a rugby ball shaped object, just like in Joel's entry. November 14th, 1996, a boomerang craft hovers below the clouds. January 3rd, 1998, a strange shape is reported in the sky. December 7th, 1999, a triangular craft with pinkish orange lights hovers over a house with three witnesses.
June 3rd, 2000: A plate-shaped UFO with small lit dome circles for an hour. June 25th, 2000: Two intensely black UFOs fly apart then disappear. February 8th, 2001: A pale green orb flies under a helicopter. February 7th, 2006: Rows of white, red and green lights fly overhead, similar to a sighting in 2004. And that's just some of it.
And you know, that's a ton of activity for a town of 130,000 some people. Or at least I think so. Now while there's zero doubt something strange is going on in the skies above Gloucestershire, I'm not so certain that it comes from another world. In her digging, Delaney discovered that the town has a long-standing historical connection to the aerospace industry.
heavy hitters too, like GE Aerospace, Northrop Grumman, Lockheed Martin, and Raytheon. All aerospace and military defense corporations that have hubs located there in Gloucestershire. Now it's certainly something worth noting, but who knows what they're testing up there in the sky. And if the UK is anything like the US, there's no way that they're telling any of us about it. So keep your eyes open out there, Joel.
because it seems like it's continuing to happen. And I hope this helped shed some light on your mysterious sighting. Thank you again, Joel, for calling in. Hey, aren't you that PBM? Well here we are folks, the home stretch. Abner, welcome to tonight's program.
Hi, my name is Abner. I had made a call about the third season of The Ghost Story, and I thought that would be my last story forever. I continue to listen to the show, which is amazing. I love your show. But I was wrong. Something else happened just recently. My work at an elder facility, unassisted, and
And I'm a security guard there, here in Cocoa, Florida. And I happen to be walking the halls.
And I was in the cafeteria and I noticed somebody wearing a black hat sitting, I think it was a wheelchair. And they were not facing me, they were facing the opposite. And they were sliding along the wall. And so I said, okay, you know, I just turned around. I turned and went to the refrigerator to grab my Coke. And when I turned around...
As soon as they pass this column there in the cafeteria, they disappeared.
Like they didn't continue going down the hall. They were completely gone. And I don't know what the heck it was. I don't know if it was a ghost or one of those glitches in the matrix, whatever you call it. But it was incredible. And I said, I got to call this in. I was like, I never thought I was going to have another experience. And that was definitely one of those experiences. I was just like, wait a minute. I just had an incredible experience.
So, I hope you can use this and you have a great show there. So, have a good one. Thank you, Abner. Another instance of seeing a ghost on the clock. And another location almost guaranteed to have some sort of residual energy. It's a sad reality, but death is a common occurrence at these elder homes. And if the lore tells us anything, it's that where there's a lot of human death, there's the potential for a haunting.
And you know the older a joint is, the higher that possibility. Now all this is speaking theoretically of course. No matter what anyone tells you, no one knows any of this for sure. Not yet anyway. Until someone puts a ghost in a cage in their basement. We're all just making guesses. But the experience sounds pretty awesome Abner. And it sounds like you appreciated it for what it was. And didn't let it spook you too badly. And I guess that's a good approach to have.
Given you still have to work there. Thank you again for sharing an incredible entry. Now folks, this next one sounds like something out of a horror film. Do me a favor and put yourself on a dark, desolate Georgia background. Then let Aaron tell you what happens next.
Hi, Derek. This is Erin from Georgia. I love your show. I only found it about two weeks ago, so I'm binge listening now. And I had an experience about five years ago, and I was wondering if maybe anybody could tell me maybe what I saw or anything about what I saw.
At the time, in 2018, my husband and I lived in a house that was way out in the sticks. It was about 10 miles from town. We had neighbors, but they weren't close. There was a cow pasture in front of us. There was a forest behind us. So we were pretty out there, and we had driven into town, and we had had dinner one night. This was in the summer, and we were on our way back home,
And we had turned onto our road, and we were about a half a mile from our house. And my husband was driving. Beautiful, clear night. It was about 9.30, 10 o'clock. And the headlights of the car shined on this man that was walking on the side of the road. And it was really weird because he was extremely tall, probably about 6'5", and extremely thin.
So it was just unsettling to kind of see him on the side of the road anyway. There was nowhere that he could be going. Like I said, we were way out in the sticks. And just his shape, how tall and how thin he was, it was scary. He was wearing black pants and a red shirt. I knew that the closer we got to this guy walking down the road, that I did not want to look at him. I didn't want to see what he looked like from the front. I just had this sense of dread come upon me as soon as we saw him.
And my husband's saying, what is this guy doing walking on the side of the road at this time of night? Where could he possibly be going? So we get closer and closer. And then as we start to pass him, I just kind of put my eyes down. I don't look at him. The thing curiosity got the best of me. So I looked in my side mirror and when I saw his face, it was just horrifying.
The scariest thing was he had this huge grin that stretched from ear to ear, almost like a joker grin, but it was as wide as it was long. And he had these huge, dark eyes.
And he was just looking at the car. He was still walking. And we were going further down the road. And as soon as it kind of dawned on me when I saw his face, how horrifying it was, my husband is looking in the rearview mirror. He shouts, what the hell is that? And he immediately wants to go to our driveway, turn around, drive back by and take another look at this guy. And I was terrified. I begged him not to.
And we just kept going further and he just kept walking and we passed him. And I have no idea what that was. He was so tall, so thin with his terrifying face. And I had told this story to someone before and
And they had suggested maybe he was wearing one of those masks like people wear when it's cold outside that has like a skull face on the bottom. But it definitely was not a mask. There was no demarcation of like a mask and skin. His skin was so pale, so white that it almost glowed in the dark.
Thank you, Erin. Now this story reminds me of a well-known legend in the paranormal circles. But first, what if I told you I had another call that's eerily similar to Erin's? I bet you'd want to hear it. So here it is, sent in anonymously from parts unknown.
Hey, Derek. I just wanted to call and talk about an incident that I had one night while driving home from a friend's in Dayton, Ohio. And I listen to your show all the time, so I know you know about the Dayton, Ohio area and Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and all that stuff. But this night, it was kind of rainy. It was pretty late. I think I was leaving my friend's house around 2. And not that this has anything to do with Wright-Patt or anything like that, but maybe it does. I don't know. You can tell me by the end of this. But
On my way home, my radio started acting really wonky and my car was just kind of, it felt like it was glitching in a way, like the screen on my car kind of went black and then went back to the normal screen, which had never happened before. And all of a sudden I had this weird image of a guy in my head, almost like telekinesis. I didn't actually see this guy, but in my head I just envisioned somebody really odd. And the guy was like,
really tall, really lanky, pretty scary looking, honestly. He had like old-fashioned clothes and sunken eyes and a big grin and I mean, pretty much nightmare feel and I had no context or any real reason to all of a sudden imagine this really odd,
creature thing slash human man? I have no clue. But anyways, a couple days later, I had told my friend that I had felt like someone placed the image of a dude in my head while I was on the way home. It was really...
really weird. And she said, well, it sounds like you're talking about Indrid Cold, who I had never heard of before. And so I did a little research online and lo and behold, a man named Woodrow Derenberger apparently was confronted by a interesting alien cryptoid thing named Indrid Cold sometime in the
I don't know, maybe the early 19th century. It might have been the 1930s, 1940s. I really don't know. Maybe it was later. It might have been the 50s. Honestly, it could have been the 60s. I have no clue. I just looked all this stuff up, so I'm very much just getting privy to it. But I just thought it was odd. I thought it was odd that I was able to essentially imagine almost very specifically
things that were very detailed and it went back to this guy it's very similar to his description and yeah so if anybody knows about that story about Woodrow Derenberger and anything about Indrid Cold I would love to know because I literally know nothing about it and for whatever reason I think I saw him in my head one day so anyways thanks for your awesome show and keep up the great work you're great thanks bye bye thank you caller
Indrid Cold. That is exactly who I had in mind when I first heard Aaron's entry. He's an alien or an interdimensional traveler, time traveler, that stopped a man on a lonely West Virginia highway. Now aside from some strange clothing, the man had a unique feature. A huge grin, plastered from ear to ear. Now our caller got some of the details right on the story, but not all of them.
Now you see I know this story quite well, not only because I grew up near there, and not just because I worked for the company that produced this film, but also because I always try to watch Mark Pellington's Mothman Prophecies this time of year. Partly because it's kind of a Christmas movie, but also because it coincides with an infamous date. December 15th, 1967. The day the Silver Bridge fell.
On a quiet street in what is now a quiet part of Point Pleasant, West Virginia, 46 bricks have been laid in the sidewalk. It is a very understated memorial to an event that put the Gallipoli's Point Pleasant area on the map in the worst way imaginable. Instead of fame, it brought infamy.
Behind me, a section of flood wall is a little lighter in color, obviously newer, but there's little other indication that this was the site a quarter of a century ago, December 15th, 1967, that the Silver Bridge fell. The 46 bricks honor the 46 lives lost that night. That's a report from 1992, courtesy of WCHS, ABC News out of Charleston.
And it perfectly captures the somber tone still felt there in Point Pleasant, West Virginia. But you know, the Silver Bridge collapse is not how it all started. Prior to that fateful night, the area had endured 13 months of what some might describe as complete terror. Now when one thinks of Point Pleasant, West Virginia, I'm sure images of the Mothman are quick to flood your brain. But believe it or not, it didn't start with the Mothman either.
A full 10 days before the first Mothman sighting, on November 2nd, 1966, around 7:25 p.m., a man named Woody Derenberger made first contact. This is what happened in his own words on behalf of WTAP, Parkersburg. What happened last night? I am a salesman and I drive a truck.
and last night, shortly after 7 o'clock, I was coming from Marietta, Ohio, coming down Interstate 77. And just before I came to the intersection of Route 47, there was a car past me, overtaking me from behind, and following closely behind this car was this unidentified flying object, and as the car behind passed me, this object disappeared.
was following close behind it and it swerved directly in front of my truck turning crosswise and when it turned crosswise it slowed down it started slowing not abruptly or too fast but it gave me plenty of time to step on my brakes and slow down with it but it forced me to come to a complete stop as soon as I had stopped there was a door opened in the side of this vehicle and this man stepped out
and came directly to me. He walked to the right hand side of the truck and he told me to roll down the window. He asked me to roll down the window on my right hand side of my truck. And I had done what he asked. And this man stood there and he first asked me what I was called. And I knew he meant my name and I told him my name. And he asked me, he said, "Why are you frightened?" He said, "Don't be frightened, we wish you no harm."
He said, "We mean you no harm. We wish you only happiness." And I told him my name, and when I told him my name, he said he was called Cold. That was the name that he was called by. And as far as I can understand, this was all mental. There was no spoken words from him. I knew what he was asking me.
but yet he stood there and his mouth did not move he had a smile on his face he was prepared very courteous and friendly and thus the grinning man was born now the story gets really wild from here there are other visitations there are other people involved indra cold's home planet is revealed it's frankly a jumbled mess
And as long as you're not afraid of a good old-fashioned teabunk. AJ over at the Y-Files on YouTube did a great episode on the subject. They sure do put a good show on over there. So that's a good place to start if you really want to dive in to the Indrid Kald story. And also, Derenberger later went on to write a book about his experience. Visitors from Lanulos. My contact with Indrid Kald.
Now I slapped a link up in the show notes if you want to buy a copy for yourself. And I'll admit I'm very tempted to buy one. But I haven't pulled the trigger yet on that purchase. Because while I think something did happen to Woody that night on I-77, I don't think I believe anything that happened beyond that night.
But regardless of what cold is, or what cold was, the story lives on in infamy. So much so, that I instantly thought of him when I heard both the previous calls. And coincidentally, six or seven years ago, Sarah and I drove across the country to spend some time back in Ohio, where we're both from. And while we were there, I decided to take Sarah down to Point Pleasant to show her all the cool stuff they have going on out there.
And right as we passed through the area where Indrid Cold stopped at Ehrenberger that night, my two or three year old vehicle suddenly died. Now the mechanic said it was something about an internal filter screen that was too fine of a mesh to allow oil to pass through. So it essentially burned up. Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Don't buy a Kia. Anyway, we sat there in that spot for hours waiting on a tow truck.
And thankfully I grew up very near there so rescue was quick after that thanks to my mom. But while we were sitting there I couldn't help but think of Derenberger's experience all those years ago and what actually did happen that night. So true or not I love the Indra Gold legend and I love that he seems to be living on in Georgia and wherever our anonymous caller is from. So again I thank them both for calling in and continuing the story.

Now I told you it was easy to get more Monsters Among Us for free. And you already did all the work. You stuck around, and as your reward, I have one more story for you. But first, you can take it one step further and get even more Monsters Among Us for free. But more on that after this weird little entry from Matthew up in Canada.
Hey Derek, this is Matthew. I'm calling from a small town in Canada, Ontario. This is a small town, nothing really happens, you know, it's an average town.
Now, this story takes place in a room in our house we call the library because that's where we keep our books. So when I was an infant, I'm going to say around maybe one or two, unknown age, that's where my bed was. And there's one big window, like the wall in front of where my bed was. And I remember, this is going to sound weird, this pancake, almost puddle-shaped entity with no features whatsoever,
pounded on the window so hard but the window didn't break don't know how then it just walked away and I didn't see it for a couple months and then I was probably a little older like three or four sleeping in the room I have now and then I turned around over in my sleep and
I woke up and I saw this almost hash brown shaped entity, all black, no features, coming up over the side of my bed towards me. I screamed and it went back under the bed and my parents came running. And yeah, that's my story. Those are the only two entities I've seen. If you have any light on whatever this is, I would love to hear your input. Great show, Derek. Keep up the good work. Thanks. Bye-bye. Thank you, Matthew.
I don't know what that was, but I do know it made me hungry. Pancake entities and hash brown intruders. For the sake of all of us, I really hope this was some sort of strange dream that Matthew's young mind couldn't distinguish from reality. Otherwise, that means there's a living pancake and a living hash brown running around Canada somewhere. And I'm not sure I like that. But either way, we thank you again, Matthew. Odd, but fun, Andrew.
