The Cage, a former witch's prison in Essex, England, is infamous for its dark history of witch trials and executions. It housed 14 witches, including Ursula Kemp, who were executed in the 16th century. The prison later became a quarantine for plague victims, adding to its grim past. Many owners and visitors have reported intense paranormal activity, including poltergeist phenomena, shadowy figures, and violent encounters, leading to its reputation as one of the most haunted places in Britain.
Vanessa Mitchell, who lived in The Cage for 11 years, reported constant poltergeist activity, including ornaments flying off shelves, doors slamming violently, and blood splatters appearing in broad daylight. She also claimed to have seen shadowy figures and was physically pushed by unseen forces, particularly during her pregnancy. Her experiences were so traumatic that she eventually sold the house and moved out in 2012.
Some theories suggest that UFOs and extraterrestrial encounters are linked to the human soul, with abductees reporting experiences of their souls being 'dragged' from their bodies during encounters. Whitley Strieber, in his book 'Communion,' described how abductees felt their souls being 'recycled' by the entities. These theories propose that aliens may be harvesting human souls or energy, raising questions about the true nature of these encounters.
One account involves a young boy in Kansas who claimed to see a three-foot-tall humanoid creature, dressed in lederhosen, emerging from his closet at night. Another story describes a father who saw a dark, winged figure in his daughter's closet, which he believed to be the devil. These encounters suggest that some people's childhood fears of closet monsters may have a basis in reality, with reports spanning from imps to demonic entities.
The Tybee Lighthouse, built in 1736, is said to be haunted by the ghost of a five-year-old girl who warns visitors not to climb the stairs. Some believe she perished when one of the previous lighthouses collapsed during a storm. Visitors have also reported hearing phantom whistling and the sound of unseen feet, adding to the lighthouse's eerie reputation.
The theory of 'hungry ghosts' suggests that certain supernatural entities, often described as malevolent spirits, feed on human energy or life force. These entities may possess vulnerable individuals, exploiting their weaknesses, and then feed on the energy derived from the food ingested by the possessed person. This process is akin to demonic possession, where the spirit exits the body after feeding, leaving the victim weakened.
The Currituck Beach Lighthouse is believed to be haunted by the ghost of Sadie Johnson, the daughter of the first lighthouse keeper, who tragically drowned. The north bedroom, where she once slept, is said to be the epicenter of paranormal activity. Additionally, the last lighthouse keeper's wife died of tuberculosis in the same room, adding to the tragic history and ghostly lore surrounding the lighthouse.
The legend of the headless lady at the Port Boca Grande Lighthouse involves a Spanish princess named Josefía, who was beheaded by the pirate José Gaspar after she rejected his advances. It is said that her headless ghost still roams the beach near the lighthouse, searching for her lost head. This tale adds to the haunted reputation of the lighthouse.
HOUR ONE: Is it possible that the monster your child sees under the bed or in the closet isn’t imaginary after all? We look at some true stories of people coming face to face with monsters in their own home. (When The Monster in the Closet is Real) *** Even for those immersed in Ufology, for many, a certain controversial subject is so troubling and disturbing they choose to outright ignore it, and seldom speak of it. It’s the question – are UFOs stealing humans’ souls? (Soul-Stealing Extraterrestrials) *** Stories of prisons housing the spirits of the dead is already dreary, but in England there is a prison called “The Cage” - and the haunting spirits there are real-life witches. (The Prison Haunted by Witches)==========HOUR TWO: If their walls could talk, lighthouses could share many stories from the past. Unfortunately, these objects don’t have the ability to tell their tales – but the phantoms that haunt them just might. ==========SUDDEN DEATH OVERTIME: People have said they feel drained after seeing Black-Eyed Kids, or exhausted when speaking with whom they later discovered was a self-proclaimed vampire. Is it possible that otherworldly, ghostly entities, interdimensional creatures, and even occultist human beings are, in some way, literally feeding on us?
