A National Geographic team has discovered what they believe to be the foot of Andrew "Sandy" Irvine, a young climber who disappeared on Mount Everest a century ago. The team found a leather boot with a socked foot inside, bearing a label with Irvine's initials. The discovery could provide crucial information about the fate of Irvine and his climbing partner, George Mallory, who also perished on Everest in 1924. The team has secured a DNA sample to confirm the identity of the remains and hopes that further investigation may reveal the location of the rest of Irvine's body.
