This is a personal share today. Feels a bit vulnerable but what the heck. I always learn the most through others shared experiences and stories and so I share mine as well.
Growing up as an extremely shy child, I learned to push against my introverted ways and hide that part of me. It felt wrong and not something that would serve me in life. It felt like quiet people were weird and being outgoing and extroverted was the way to a successful life.
I am so happy now that there are places like @introverteddear) etc that help share the goodness of this quality and that you are not alone.
** I also wanted to preface that there is nothing wrong with having/ being an only children. This was my own personal experience/opinion growing up and I also think things have changed so much since then. It defintely doesn't seem like there is a stigma around it anymore and maybe this was just something I picked up as a child, since I also know friends who loved their expereince growing up as the only one. Funny, how we can all live the same experience and feel so differently about it. **
