Hey guys! What's up? So we actually recorded this yesterday, so we're deleted. We're doing a take two. Yeah, we're doing it again, so hopefully, I mean, maybe it'll be better because now we have practiced. Yeah. But this is take two, but it's what we do for you guys. We're doing it again. Sitting down for a whole hour to talk about it because the topic was just too good. Yeah, this is a very important one. Too good not to...
not to redo it but so life lately i guess we both have eyelashes yes so i mean we're just looking fabulous yeah better than ever like yeah we're going out to dallas this weekend so like we wanted to be like on our a-game with like everything because we're gonna be doing a lot of photo shoots videos stuff like that content baby yes we're gonna be in dallas when you guys are listening to this probably unless you listen right and early in the morning um
If you listen during the day, we're going to be in Dallas with Rise. It's going to be really fun. See all of our guy friends, make a bunch of content, cool videos, cool pictures. It'll be sick. Yeah.
Especially because we haven't seen the actual gym yet. And it will be so kind of weird to see it because we've seen it on social media, but then stepping actual foot into it. But I don't know. Because we were filming this for the second time, I'm like, what did we already say? But I wanted to say, I don't know if I said this on last week's episode, that hopefully the gym will be open to the public in the next month or two. And then you guys will, if anybody lives in Dallas, come through. Yes, that's what we talked about yesterday when it deleted. That...
Once it's open, we can definitely maybe try on having a Rise meetup with us in Dallas at Rise, which would be so fun. So we were saying... It's like, if you hear us saying like, oh, did we say that last week? Yeah, it's because we're re-recording. But like...
What was I going to say? Just keep your weekends open in the next month or two. Keep your weekends free if you live near Dallas. We will be going to Dallas probably every three weeks, so it will be pretty good. Yeah, you guys will see us around if you live there. Or if you live in Texas, maybe we could try... Not in Texas. In Austin. Texas is big. If you live in Austin, maybe we could try to arrange something here. We mentioned, I think, seeing if Lyft. Yeah, we could do something at Lyft. Just so we can...
Meet you guys because we need to do it in a coordinated area with, like, some type of, like, security and, like, public. Because we can't just be like, meet up at this street corner. Meet up at this park. Yeah, that's kind of... Because we got some creeps on our profiles. Yeah, we got...
Yeah, that would not be safe. So we've got to find an area to coordinate it because we would love to meet you guys. We meet a lot of you here at the gym anyway, so I feel like there'd be a lot of people here. Yeah, definitely. We get a lot of DMs from people that live here. Yeah. So that would be super fun. Or just in Dallas. If you live here, you can easily make the trip to Dallas to come see us. Of course. Or if you don't live in Austin and you want to see us, make a whole trip out of it. Austin's super fun. Like, stay on the lookout if we ever do that because we should do that kind of soon. I do, yeah. That'd be really fun. I know. We just have so much fun.
shit going on. Yeah. I feel like we're so busy. Like, cause we're just like so excited to like finally be moved in together. So we're just trying to do so much. Like right now I'm just like, we're going to be like booked in busy. I feel like I was busy in the sense of like, Oh my God, I was moving. I had to go shopping. I had to go car shopping. It was that type of busy. And now it's like, okay, it's work time. Yeah. Work busy. Like I would say our busy busyness is like Monday to like Wednesday. And then like Thursday to Sunday is like,
Yeah, we're busy. Like, we can either be traveling and work busy or, like, we kind of, like, lay low but we're kind of, like, still doing work. I don't know. I've been working, like, pretty much from, like, 7 to, like, 5.
Yeah. That I feel like is like work, work, work. And then I finally, oh my goodness, I finally like will open up my like laptop and like watch a TV show. I'm just like, yes. And I binge it the rest of the night. That's what I told myself. I've been talking about this on my Instagram story. I've been putting my phone away at eight, which you might, that might not sound like a great accomplishment. You're like, yeah, you probably shouldn't scroll on TikTok till 10. Okay, whatever. Whatever.
I've been putting my phone away and literally just like watching a show if I want to watch a show because I'll scroll and watch TV. Yeah. And I'm like, why do you have so many screens going on? Yeah. Like, put one of them away. So I like don't touch my phone and I watch Bachelor in Paradise.
And I just chill. And I'm in bed. Sometimes I've been in bed and the light's still, like, the sun is still out. Oh, yeah, same. I, like, will eat dinner at, like, 536. And then I'm like, okay, straight to bed. It's just because we work all day. So by then it's, like, I'm done. I'm done. Like, I don't want to do anything anymore. But it's going to be fun. And, like, I'm posting on YouTube a lot more now. I feel like the work is just going to be going and going and going. And we have a lot of, like, things in our...
I feel like every day in the car, we're like, oh my God. We just come up with something new that we want to do. We can do this. We can do this. We can do this. So...
Oh my god, it's just gonna get so much better from here. I know we always say that. Oh, we told them in our, the one that got deleted, that we got a table coming Monday. Yes, we do. But our next episode will not be at the table. It will be in Dallas. And then, so two episodes from now, we'll have our table and we'll be sitting at it. That will be our third podcast recording this week. Yeah. While we do a lot of talking. I know. I think I'm gonna lose my voice. Oh yeah, we've been talking so much this week with voice memos to clients, talking on our story, talking on this.
Talking to each other. And then that's why, like, come, like, dinner time, after dinner, I'm like, okay, I'm done talking. Yeah, then we don't speak to each other. You go to your room, I go to my room. You know what I noticed, too? Super funny, super random. We have, like, designated spots.
right there we know we didn't even like talk about it we just I always sit in the left chair and you always or I guess you always sit in that chair and I always sit in the other one it's like every morning for breakfast lunch dinner I only sit in that chair I don't understand it we just started doing it one day it just stayed like that and I think one time I was like texting David something he's like oh like are you watching TV with Sam I was like or like are you with Sam I was like no we're each in our room I'm like we talk all day
Yeah. I'm like, we're literally talking all day long by seven. It's like, all right, peace. Yeah. See you tomorrow. I'm like, I have no energy to like put words out of my mouth, but it's been so, it's been so fun guys. Like 10 out of 10. If you have like an, if you want to move and there's some like impulsive move you want to do, or maybe you like met someone recently, I don't know. And you want to like change and move a few States away.
Yeah. Do it. Do it. Do it. If you don't have like kids or like a family or a job you have to be in one place for, do it. There's no, like, just do it. Run. Seriously though. Can't recommend enough. I know. Should we get into it though? Absolutely.
I feel like this is a juicy topic, so we just need to... Okay, so you can probably tell from the title of this episode, obviously you guys have already read it, we're going to be talking about MLMs. So specifically, we're going to be talking about ones that are fitness industry oriented, like health and fitness. There's obviously a ton...
of all, they sell everything, they do everything. But we're going to be talking about very fitness and health related ones because a lot of you are getting probably taken advantage of and you don't know. So Sam loves this first one. Oh yes. Pretty much any MLM that we're going to be talking about are the one or two main ones that we're going to be starting off with. I've been affected by, brainwashed. But do you want to say what an MLM is and then I'll kind of get into...
Okay, so an MLM is multi-level marketing. Basically what that means is you have... Okay, so someone starts selling product. So the product is not the main focus of the business model at all. What the main focus is is recruiting other people to sell the product so the person above you gets a cut from your sales and then...
The next person recruits a person, they get a cut, and it keeps going and going and going. So the people at the top are making a crap ton of money. And if you get stuck at the bottom, it's really hard to find people to recruit, and you're probably getting screwed over. They make you pay for inventory. It's a whole scam. You're going to end up losing money. A lot of people do lose money because if you're not all the way at the top or...
with a giant following that can do sales, you're not really going to make money. It's basically a pyramid scheme. Yeah, I was just about to say that. I was like, if you want to think of it as a pyramid scheme because you'll hear people say that as well if they don't say MLM. Same thing, pyramid scheme. So I have definitely been affected by this and I was brainwashed like no other when I was way younger, had no education on fitness, nutrition, and that's where MLMs typically get people. They really brainwash people
young girls or like somebody that's like you said when we recorded this yesterday like a single mom or someone that just got fired from their job they really target people that just don't really know and they're not educated and for me in a vulnerable like money yeah like they they really need money so they're very quick to be like oh yeah yeah I'll try yeah
So for me, the very beginning was probably it was Herbalife. So I'm sure a lot of you guys probably know what that is. It's a very big topic when it comes to MLMs. I talk about it a bunch on my social media. But basically, if you don't know what it is, it is a nutrition shop that you can probably find in your local town. They sell teas, they sell shakes, and they're supposed to be meal replacements. This started for me way back when I was a, I would say,
Freshman or sophomore in college, you know, I went to school, keep in mind, I went to school for graphic design. I had no information, no education on fitness, nutrition. I was just a girl, you know, posts like, you know,
practice like wanting like a quick like protein shake so I'd go there all the time to get like my protein shake whatnot but then while I was there one day I actually got recruited like Taylor was saying and you know I was completely brainwashed super excited they were telling me I was going to make all this money from it because I could sell it not only you know work behind the bar and make shakes but I could also sell it um to people sell it to my teammates stuff like that so
I started working there and it was very, very disordered. The main reason I really, really get so frustrated about Herbalife is because
Not only that it's a pyramid scheme, but the way they go about it, it's so disordered. The diet culture that comes from it is so toxic. Basically what they promote is eating two meal replacement shakes a day. And, you know, a meal replacement shake from Herbalife is around 200 calories and no meal should ever be 200 calories. That's a snack. Like if you're making a meal, it should be way above that.
So I was eating two of those a day. So we got, that's 400 calories right there. And then they try to tell you to just have dinner, like anything. It could be like a salad, whatever it is. So when I was going through this process or this time in my life, I was probably eating like around like a thousand calories every single day. I had
no energy. I was miserable, but you know what I thought I was doing was completely fine. It was the right way to go approach to nutrition. Like what I thought I was doing was healthy because I had all these girls that would come up to me and like, Oh my goodness, like you look so good. Like what's your secret? And my secret was herbal life.
And I, that's how I was recruiting other people because I was promoting Herbalife, but little did I know what I was actually doing to my body. Yeah, exactly. I mean, that's a clear example. Like you were just like a college age girl, like the shakes, they know you didn't know like anything about how it worked.
And the products itself, whether you're like, I like the shakes because some of you have definitely been. There was one in my college town. There's one in my hometown. There's probably some around Austin. Obviously, we don't go, so I don't really know where they are. If it's anything nutrition, like blank nutrition, and they sell shakes that maybe look, they're like 100 calories, but they have like sprinkles in them or like it's Herbalife. That's what it is. I actually got a DM yesterday. Okay.
I'm a girl being like, I heard you mention these and sent me the one she goes to. And she was like, is this one of them? I was like, yes. I was like, it's an MLM. Unfortunately, my friend, yes. It just...
Trust me, guys. It is. You can ask them. They won't have protein shown. Yeah. Which any other place that makes something, you'll probably see the ingredients. Yeah. If it's a normal... Even like Smoothie King or like Jamba Juice, you can see them. You can see what they're using. You can see everything that goes in the smoothie. This place, you can't. Yeah. You can't see it's Herbalife because they know...
It's sketchy if you have to hide what you're selling. You know what I mean? Yeah, so because I worked behind the scenes and I was literally brainwashed to the point where the owner of the Shake Place that I was working at was this close to having me open my own. I was so eager to open my own place, going into college, opening it near my college town, whatever. But...
There are rules when it comes to opening one. You're not allowed to have window like open windows. So from the outside, you can't look in. So if you have windows, you have to put like like paper over it. None of the protein can be shown. You can't show it off. If someone asks what the ingredients are inside of it, you can't tell them. You just have to tell them to go to the Herbalife website. And then what do you what do you end up doing when you go to a website?
yeah you buy it yeah so it's so sketchy that makes perfect sense though because the one where i lived was in a gym you couldn't yeah you can't see inside of it you couldn't see it from like a window it was inside yeah and i don't understand why they do it but yeah like anytime you see one it the windows are completely walked off and you're only allowed to have a certain amount of windows at the building interesting yeah it's crazy
It's also just, even if you like it and it's a place you go, you gotta remember what you are supporting. There's a documentary on Netflix. I believe it's still on Netflix. You can probably search it on anything. It is all about...
Herbalife and how it being an MLM and like a pyramids game is so horrible to people and all of these people that were probably in like situations of like poverty like we said like really in need of money so easily brainwashed into needing something quick to literally like save their family they buy all of this Herbalife because they're promised they're going to make a lot of money off of it and some of them lost like or most of them.
like thousands of dollars and still have like a bunch of Herbalife in their house. Yeah. Because they couldn't sell it and couldn't do anything with it and are like... Like their lives were like ruined. I made no money off of it. Like no money off of it. I just enjoyed at the time when I was working there working behind the bar because I would get like a free... Two free shakes during the hours I was working there but when it came to like actually selling the product, could not sell it and I was like...
And I literally probably like, I can't remember, but I probably would was in debt given the fact that I had to buy the product. Like if you have to buy the product for a company that you work for, that's no trust. Like you got to like step away from that. Like if you're giving the company money, but you're working for them,
Like, why? There's no sales job where you have to buy the thing that you're selling. Yeah. None. Like, no job in sales do you have to do that. We do not buy Rise. We do not. Like, that would be insane. If you have to buy the product, here's the thing with MLMs. People that are selling it, they market it as like, oh, you're a business owner. You're just the customer. Yeah. Because you buy...
bought the Herbalife with your own money. You are what gives them profit because you buy it and you don't find people to buy it from you. You are just the customer.
And Herbalife is just a whole... This stuff is also filled with kind of, like, sketchy ingredients. Yeah. There's just way better protein for you out there. That was another thing I was going to say is, like, we're obviously talking about, like, the whole MLM, like, situation. So we're not going to go into full detail, like, in terms of, like, nutrition-wise, like, how they're not the best for you. Definitely do the research on your own because we just want to kind of educate you guys on MLMs and what to stay away from because we don't want you to obviously get scammed and, like, not support these...
Stupid ass companies. Especially because the fitness industry, a lot of people getting into fitness or wanting to be influencers, it's like a vulnerable state. Yeah. You just won't sign up for anything. So we don't want you guys to be tricked into thinking that you've got this like cool opportunity to like do protein shakes. No. There's even some gyms.
I used to follow these girls that I think did CrossFit, and it was like after every workout, their coach, like they all had Herbalife. And it was like, well, no. Oh, you know what also pisses me off too about Herbalife is you are automatically a wellness coach giving out macros, giving out meal plans, right?
When you don't even have any certification. Like, that's what pisses me off. Like, the stores back home where I'm from, like, they would literally... Like, the owner of the company would literally give me macros for me to eat for the day. Keep in mind, this guy is, like, not even, like...
No CPT, not a dietician, nutritionist, nothing. He has nothing. He just owns a nutrition store and calls himself a wellness coach. Do not take nutrition fitness advice from a herbal life wellness coach, okay? I feel like any wellness coach seems sketchy to me. So sketchy. That term does not... I was considered a wellness coach.
Like at one point, and I had no idea what the hell I was doing. Keep in mind, I was not, I was a hundred percent not giving out like macros and meal plans to anybody, but I was in a vulnerable state where someone did that to me. And that's where I legit developed the eating story, eating a thousand calories a day, thinking that was okay to do.
it's so horrible got like stay away from herbal life at all cost i i know it's gonna hurt knowing that those like little your local shake shop is herbal life i know it hurts those like teas they're like ombre color but you can literally make your own shake they're like the teas are like filled with sugar too and so they're just artificial dye and sugar yeah you can literally make your own shake and it's so so good
I got lots of recipes in my recipe. Go check them out. Make your own. Go to Smoothie King. Go to like... Literally. Don't go to an Herbalife place. Also, mind you, they market them. Now that I'm like... It's like, oh, 100 calories, this much protein. Sorry, a post-workout shake can be more than 100 calories. Like, I remember I got one. The one near me, I didn't know was Herbalife. I didn't know that these stores were Herbalife. I'm very...
I'm very into this stuff, but I didn't know that the stores themselves were Herbalife. So when Sam was in Miami, we went and she was like, this is Herbalife, blah, blah, blah. And I was so shocked because I just didn't know it was Herbalife. I didn't know people did that in stores, which made me realize the one in my college town was Herbalife.
But I drank the shake one time and it tasted good, but it literally did not fill me up for one second. I was hungry instantly. Oh, same. I would literally like run myself to the ground just like doing random stuff. So that way I had to like wait until like the next shake. It was ridiculous. So that's like the first one we're going to touch on. The second one, that's pretty much all we said about my life, right? Yeah. That's pretty much it.
This second one is, this is the tea. This is the juicy tea because I bet a lot of you don't know that this is an MLM because I didn't. I didn't and I was shocked. But just to preface, a lot of the people you see posting it that might be bigger influencers, they're probably not recruiting and preying on people like other people are. Just disclaimer. They're just probably making good money and they just don't want to leave. They're just doing sales, but there's definitely part of the company that is, and that is First Form.
First form, dun dun dun. The tea comes out. And yes, you guys are probably thinking, well, Sam, didn't you work there? Yes, I did work there. But you know, again, same situation. I was brainwashed. They literally, what they do is they'll have like, what do you call these people that are reaching out to us?
They're literally just like... Like recruiter. So obviously with the pyramid scheme, so there's people higher ranked than me. So someone who was a little bit higher ranked slid into my DMs, asked me if I wanted to be a part of First Forum. And obviously, this was when I first started my fitness page. I had probably like... I didn't even have a swipe up link yet. I had probably like 7,000 followers. And they asked me and I was like, oh, hell yeah. Like First Forum, this is a big ass company. I was so excited. I was telling my parents and all that. And you know, whatever. Whatever.
Everything went through. I went on the call with them and it worked out. So I started working with them and I instantly was like, what the heck is going on? Because they started making me do like these quizzes and like all these like different types of like research things on their like page. It was like this first forum, like back office thing where you had to like do these quizzes about each supplement to get to know each supplement better.
So that way, like when I was promoting it, I was like better at promoting it, which at the time I'm just like, okay, maybe like every company does this. Like maybe it's just not just first form. So I was like, all right, I'll stick with it. Keep in mind, I genuinely enjoyed first forums products. So, um, I didn't leave them because the products were ass. Like I genuinely left them because it was an MLM and I was treated like crap. Um, I just want to put that out there.
So if you see other people using them, they probably genuinely enjoy the supplements as well. But the whole thing was just so... You don't see it behind the scenes, but you just... It's so sketchy. It really is. The people... There are so many people that are probably getting DMs too from the first forum. People in your DMs, don't trust it. Please do not trust it because that person that's DMing you is DMing you because they know that once you sign with them...
They're going to be making sales off of your sale or they're going to be making profit off of your sales. Yeah. The person above you gets part of what you sell. So the person recruited Sam and when you go to following made probably more money than you. Like she made because she is yours. Her own sales. Yeah. If she was just a random person, they were not as good as yours, but she has her own sales.
your sales and every other person she recruited when she recruited you. The people at the top make all the money. Now these bigger influencers, like I said, they're just selling, they're not recruiting and the products are, are good. Like Sam said, she liked them. It's like a very low key MLM because there's other MLMs like Herbalife that are very much just recruit, recruit, recruit, recruit, recruit. But, um, and I'm sure there's people in first form that, um,
Obviously, someone recruited you. So it's like, let's just say, for example, Sam could, if she was a scumbag, when she was promoting first form, DM all of you and be like, want to be first form athletes and make stupid money off your sales? That's what she could have done if she was...
just you know wanted to just be a horrible person yeah and that's another thing too with first forum is like yes i'm like promoting the products great awesome but i had to pay 115 dollars a month for the products like i wasn't getting like yes i worked for first forum but i wasn't getting the product for free and you probably are looking at like a lot of like the smaller creators out there and you'll notice that they're probably with first forum and every single one of them has to pay 115 dollars a month so think of that if there's like just in austin alone maybe
Maybe like a thousand girls that have a fitness page. Yeah, have a fitness page, but they're doing first form. Think about the amount of money that first form is making. Off them. Off of just the so-called athletes that are selling the product. That's what I'm saying. The sellers of MLM products are the customers because you have to pay for it. They're basically making sure they have subscription fees.
subscription customers. So like that's what they're thinking. You're just a number to them. Like first form, you are just a number to them. It's ridiculous. They do not care about how many people they have like behind the scenes or I'm sorry, not behind the scenes, but out there pushing the product. And I, that's another thing I didn't like about them is like, I was like, there are just so many people. What, what makes me different than that other person? Nothing. I literally had to hop on a call with my so-called like
you know, manager person, whoever was a level higher than me that was making profit off of me. I was like, hey, like, I'd love to come out to the, you know, first form gym, the HQ, like you guys probably see it on social media is sick. I wanted to go out there. I wanted to meet a bunch of the athletes. At this point, I had about 50,000 followers. And I thought like, you know,
I was making good run of you for first form to the point where like they could take a little bit of my run of you and, you know, buy a hotel room and a flight real quick. And you'll have me come out because she would talk so highly of me being like, you're going to be the next athlete, like all this stuff, like telling me all these things. So I was hyped and like wanting to sell more product.
And then finally I asked her and she said no because I wasn't using the first form app, which is the transformation app. And you have to be a personal trainer on that app.
For free? Yeah, for free. So I wasn't even making any money off of that. There were just so many things behind the scene that I didn't want to do for a first form because, you know, all that extra effort that I'm putting in, I'm not even getting paid for it. I'm doing all this extra shit running around and they're just making money off of me. That girl that you talked to probably also has zero say in like... Like she would have no authority to be like, yeah, let's fly you out. Yeah. She's just a random person. Yeah, a random person. But she talks to you like that because...
It's always just work harder, work harder, work harder. And these MLMs...
The only thing that they're going to tell you is like, well, work harder. And then once you do what they said, they're going to be like, well, you need to work harder. They're just going to guilt trip you into thinking that you're not doing enough. I was literally running myself to the ground trying to sell product, product, product, product because I wanted to be an athlete so bad. And she just kept telling me, okay. She was just giving me numbers on my sales. And she was like, okay, hit this number. Then, yes, you can. Then I hit the number that she was saying and then she said no to me because I'm not using the First Form app. And I'm like...
You got to be kidding me. I'm literally just a number to you. She is zero authority in, like, first form. It's not like how, like, when we speak to companies, we are speaking to, like, the CEO, the PR, the head of PR. Like, the people actually in charge that have a say, not some random. Like, you guys don't come to us talking about your rise sales. Yeah.
Like, that's not how it works. Yeah. That's another thing, too, is, like, if you want to work with a company, like, make sure that, like, you know that you're getting all the profit. You're not... Nobody else is getting the profit besides the company. Like, there should be no one between you and the company. Like, for...
Taylor and I, we have codes. Those codes, we get obviously some sales, but then it just goes straight to the company. There's no one else. There's no middleman. And that's how it should be. We shouldn't be running ourselves to the ground for somebody else that just gets to kind of sit there and do nothing. So make sure that's the case. And you want to develop really good relationships with the companies. And that's what I love about Rise is like we've been with them for probably, what, three, four months, and we're getting flown out to the –
to like work with them, like and develop relationships. That's how it should be when you're working with companies. It shouldn't be just a number. And exactly. Yeah. I don't know. A lot of MLMs like to throw around the word influencer, like, oh, you can sell things online. So you're an influencer. Yeah. When truly, if they saw you like that,
You wouldn't just be a sales number. They would value your audience and your reach and your engagement and value you as like a personality. Yeah. Not just, oh, send me your sales. Yeah. It would, you would be a person, you would, you would be an employee for the company. We basically work, we work for Rise. That's what we're like. We're employees. Like we get a salary, we get like,
We work for the company. It's not some sketchy, like, too-good-to-be-true, be-your-own-business-owner, be-your-own-CEO. No. Oh, no. It's you work for us, this is what we expect of you, and we'll pay you this. Yeah. There's no sketchy numbers or wording or, like, too-good-to-be-true, and that should be every single contract or collab if you guys are trying to get brand deals. If it sounds too good to be true...
It is. It's too good to be true. If it's some, I don't know, you know what this reminds me of? Remember when, have you ever gotten those DMs? It's like, be an ambassador for our bikini brand. Yeah. All you have to do is buy a bikini. And like, and then you're part of it. And then you're an
I never did any of those because I was like, at the time, they would ask me when I was probably 17, 18, and I'm like, I don't have any money. I can't do that. If you have to buy a product, it is sketchy. And if you're buying supplements, it's probably an MLM. Yeah. Do your research on...
And the reason... Okay, you were talking about those quizzes. That's because anyone... So Sam's obviously educated. But anyone else on the street that can come and be first form, they do those quizzes because those people are going to start coaching on the app. Yeah. They're just going to start coaching on the app. So they need to do those quizzes to get like... To be a wellness coach. Yeah. And all of a sudden start coaching people on an app. Yeah. But that's literally what they put those there for. To...
people? I don't even know what the... They tried getting me to use the app before I even had my certification. I was like, I was like thinking in the back of my mind, I'm like, why is this even like a thing? How is this even like legal? You want me to be using the first forum transformation app when I don't even have my CPT? Like, you want me to be a coach using that? Like, what? Yeah. They would tell that to anyone on, they would see someone walking on the street and be like, oh, you want to do first form? Be a coach. Yeah. Instantly. Instantly.
Is that all? Yeah, that kind of leads us into... Yeah, so this whole thing with being a coach, this one isn't any personal experience thing. It's just a big thing to look out for and to know is really, really horrible. And if you know anyone involved in it, just get them out. So another MLM is called Beachbody. It's very, very popular. The whole premise of this MLM is to hire other people to be a coach. You're not even like...
an influencer selling anything, you are literally recruiting coaches. You automatically get the title of Beachbody coach and you sell workout plans. Um, you sell shakes. So kind of like Herbalife, I think you were supposed to give them shakes because that's probably part of the meal plans they give their clients, which is like illegal. You sell workout plans. They sell like a diet book thing called like portion fix where there's like a container for protein, a container for carbs. Oh my God. And like your, your,
The macro has to fit in the little... Fit into it, yeah. So they sell something like that. And then I think they probably sell equipment for your house or whatever. But you're basically selling being a coach. Insane is that. Like, literally anyone you see... So they're DMing every single person they know on Facebook and are like, become a Beachbody coach. Become a Beachbody coach. And then those people coach... Like, legit coach people with the worst exercise advice I've ever seen in my whole entire life. Please go on YouTube and look up Beachbody, like...
review and you'll find people like showing them and talking about them they are the worst exercises i have ever seen in my life i can't even describe them they make notes it'll be like squat deadlift curl overhead press with like a band like it's like some ridiculous ass workout ridiculous like hurt yourself 101 like just insanity diet advice and what's horrible about this one
They have said, I've like watched videos of like team calls because they all get together. And one of the head mentors was telling everyone like you should literally go to people who have like terminal illnesses because they're probably in such a place where they want to fix their health.
And try to get them to sign up for Beachbody. That's fucked up. That makes me so mad. Because health and wellness is like a really like touchy set. Like a lot of people really feel like they need something quick. Whether it's weight loss. Having some type of like illness where you want to try any option. And they literally said. Like the girl literally said to do that.
Which is crazy. And then it's the same thing. You know, they just want to make everyone work harder, work harder, work harder. But do not fall for any DMs like that either about wanting to be a Beachbody coach. They have very popular. You may have seen ads for it on YouTube workout videos, which I don't think those like you're not doing anything with like a coach or being recruited. But I think you could just buy them and there's something the company sells. I get ads for all the time.
Just know that those videos are also supporting the company. They're really popular. What is it called? Like something 90X, P90X, T90X. I have no idea what you're talking about. Okay, there's like workout videos that I feel like were popular before that like a lot of people did. Some of you might know what I'm talking about. They're Beachbody and it's just horrible. Don't be freaking scammed by that if you get a DM saying you're going to be some coach and like you want to get into personal training and you think like...
Oh, yay. Like, this person thinks I'd be a good coach. They sent that DM to probably a thousand girls. Yeah. That day alone. They don't think he'll be a good coach. Yeah. They are making money off you. And you are literally scamming people by giving them horrible fitness advice. Like, the worst fitness advice I've ever seen. Yeah. And they base that off of... Or all of these MLMs kind of base it off of, like, they're very women-focused. Very women-focused. It is, like, all...
girls herbalife maybe guys too but um or maybe first form like some of them are guys but a lot of them are like they get you with the whole like girl gang girl girl girl supporting girls girl supporting girls like girl boss like i'm like an independent woman like making money off my phone like selling products like i'm a girl boss that rhetoric is literally red flag central
Red flag central. They're like, join the family. Yeah, like, it's a community. It's a family. Boss babes. No. No, get out. That is, like, the fakest shit ever. That is literally the fakest way anyone can talk to you ever because they don't want to be your friend. They don't want to be your family. They want to make money off you. Always. There's no way you can have, like, true friendship in a business. Business.
and not have that person probably like talking shit about you behind your back like they genuinely just like want the money benefit out of it like if they're recruiting they don't know you it's like that's what i'm saying like if someone doesn't know you and they're reaching out to you and they're like oh my god girl like we would be such best friends like join the company it's like no you don't want to be best friends you just want me to work for your company and make money yeah like no partner no serious partnership we've had is an email being like
Girl gang. Girl gang. Work with me. It's numbers and it's business. And it's the same energy as like... Dull. You might have seen, I don't know, groups of girls on Instagram that seem like they're just running this business all together. It's literally like a sorority business.
um there are literally like fitness sororities literally fitness sororities a bunch of them i love my sisters no you don't if you don't pay your monthly this community is so uplifting don't pay your monthly dues get the hell out yeah if you're not doing what is told you're gonna get talked shit about behind the back it's like keep up the image pay your dues
Or get out. Yeah, literally. And no one cares about you. I just cannot stress enough that if that's the way someone's pitching you to join literally anything, like, I don't know. Even, like, when we promote, like, let's say, like, we're selling something or, like, we're coaching. Like, we're not like, hey, girlies. Like, girl gang. Like, our community. Like, look at this. It's just so cheesy. It frustrates the crap out of me. So...
Basically, what we're getting out of this, guys, is if you want to be a personal trainer and if you want to be a bad bitch, do it on your own, okay? Do it on your own. You are going to get more benefits working on your own. Obviously, all the finances go to you. You don't have people talking shit about you in your work environment, and you can just do whatever the hell you want.
Okay, it's honestly, like, for legal reasons, I can't really say much, but I just want you guys to know that...
No matter what your social following is, you can be a badass and you can create your own company. You don't have to do it all completely social media based. Get into a gym. Recruit people in a gym. Like clients into a gym. Like work for a gym. Yeah, working for a gym. Like just getting into the environment and like doing it on your own. Like whether like you're into SoulCycle or something like, or cycling or something like that. Start cycling. Just get into the environment so that way you can learn more
a little bit more. Like, surround yourself around a lot of other entrepreneurs. Maybe you're not quite an entrepreneur yet, but you're just working at a gym just so you can learn. Because, you know, the business relationship with people can be very different than the actual friend relationship with someone. And
That's all I'm going to say. Also, so if you want to be a coach, because obviously we talked about all these companies that will make you be a coach, or like Sam said, if someone wants you to be a coach under them or with them in their own little company, right? Let's say you can have, I follow people, right, that have 4,000 followers. They're successful coaches. Yeah, literally. 4,000 followers. If they're engaged with you,
You could get at least 100 clients virtually or in person. I know someone that does group classes. She's a successful trainer on her own because she doesn't need to be under anyone else. If you have a platform and you have dedication and you get your certification, you're already a coach, you're already a business owner, you're already on the track to become an entrepreneur, you don't need someone in your DMs or trying to get you to be a part of their business.
And you know, that's another thing too, is like when you work for another company, you're spread really, really thin. Okay. You are spread so thin because obviously...
Money has to go elsewhere. It can't just completely go to you. So you're racking up the roster, whereas if you work for yourself, you don't need as many girls. You're going to have a smaller roster. Make time for yourself and genuinely build relationships with your clients. And I freaking love it. I love my girl gang. I hope you guys are all listening to this. I love working with each and every single one of you guys. The relationships I've built with most of you,
is amazing. And actually, speaking of this, Jackie and Abby, shout out to you guys. Abby just sent me, like, she has, like, a little, um...
I don't know if it's, like, a small business that she started, but she sent me some of her clothing, and it's so cute. I just love, like, the fact that I can build, like, really good relationships like that. You know what I think is weird, too? I feel like a lot of these things, what's sketchy is we coach, we have clients. You might think we have so many. We both have, like, 20-something. Like, we spread it out over a few days. We don't have that many clients.
And you guys don't see us every single day being like, swipe up to apply for coaching, swipe up to apply for coaching, swipe up to apply for coaching, because we can't handle that. So if you see a coaching... Environment. A person, a business, whatever, and twice a day, every single day, it's swipe up to apply, swipe up to apply, swipe up to apply. Think a little bit about how on earth...
Are they keeping up with that? Yeah. Because you guys are real people. So you have to think, how are they physically, every single day, on a page with a lot of following, asking for new clients? Yeah. That's another thing, too, is there are so many different coaches that can be out there. There are going to be coaches that are...
100% all in on personal training, but someone like myself, I'm not 100% all in just coaching. Of course I fucking love coaching. I love it. I had the relationships I've built with the girls, but I also have Instagram. I have Tik TOK. I have YouTube. I have brand deals, podcasts. I want to be doing other things. So you can't be spread so thin. Yeah. And if you want to just be a trainer, some people might just want to be a trainer. Yeah.
Go to a gym. Find an in-person maybe studio you can rent and do in-person training. Stuff like that is what...
What you want to do if training is like your end goal. There's so many people that just do training. You can sell your own online ebooks. You can do all of that yourself. You don't don't get sucked into feeling like you need to join a family. You were special because you got picked and like, oh my God, you made it do it on your own. Do it on your freaking own. Like there's you do not need to be held under anyone ever. And just know the difference like me.
Like me and Sam obviously work together, not because one of us like, like, like work, like was like, Hey, like I chose you to be this. Like it's like a genuine like work partnership. Cause obviously you can have partnerships in your work. It's not like say F you to anyone that wants to work together, but you don't need to be under someone that's taking all of your money for a business. You can literally do by yourself. Yeah. Yeah.
Exactly. You don't. I think you make more money. Like if you worked for, let's say like an LA Fitness, you probably get more of a, you probably get most of the money. Yeah. Than doing it under someone online. Yeah, you do. They're just a little, a little sketchy. Just, just letting you guys know they're a little bit sketchy.
And that's the tea, sis. That is the tea. And you might be like, wait, by the way, you're talking about MLMs. It's just very much the same vibe because you still have people on the top and people on the bottom. And you're working for somebody else. It's almost worse than an MLM because even though in an MLM they say you can climb up, I mean, technically you can if you like...
You won't. Statistically, you won't, but I guess technically you can. But if you're just straight up under someone shoveling money into their pocket and they're already the CEO, you're not working your way up to anything. Yeah, no. You're literally just going to be under them forever. So it's very much the same vibe. Yeah, no. Not a fan, not a fan. You got to be careful with who you trust on Instagram. Yeah.
And especially like, I'm sure like, I'm sure a majority of you guys listening are probably not like, well, I'm not trying to build my social media following. I'm not trying to be a personal trainer, but this will touch home to at least a few of you guys that are listening to this. And if you have a social following, doesn't who cares what the following is?
Don't let them take advantage of that. Okay. Don't let them take advantage of the fact that you have a good following and you have good engagement on social media. Use that for yourself. Okay. Exactly. Cause I know a lot of you do have fitness pages. I feel like a lot of the reposts and stuff are people's little fitness pages and you can be successful with it. Especially, you know, if you grow following, cause the girls I said to have a little bit, their following is like all in our city. Yeah. So like,
Exactly, yeah. They have so many clients. And they're not under anyone for crap. And I bet they've probably been offered, like...
Maybe I have a lot of DMs. Maybe I've been offered. Maybe I just have never seen it. But we don't want you guys getting ripped off if you want to do similar things to what we do. Or you want to be a coach. Or you want to start getting a brand deal or two. Do not get ripped off. And do not support a company that's ripping off other people. Because you just don't want to be a part of that. You want to have a genuine...
Genuine companies that you work for that care about you and don't make you pay for products every month. It's craziness. It's a scary world out there. The people that you think you are making friends and true relationships with and it just... Yeah. Because even in the MLMs, like you said, like the person above you, like the person above you is going to be like, I'm your best friend. I'm your mentor. Nah. But then if you're not making them enough money, they're going to be like, you're lazy. Yeah. You suck. They're literally...
Everything's a money game, people. It really is. Everything. So you need to make sure you know your worth and what the benefit is for you. Hell fucking yes. I love that. Oh, that renaissance resonates with me so much. That renaissance. Renaissance. Well, the tea has been spilt for a second time. I think we did pretty good on saying everything we said the first time. Yeah, we did.
yeah and i feel good i feel like i've vented like this was a vent sesh kind of for me and i think a lot of you guys will catch the hints um with what we're talking about vent sesh number two we literally recorded this twice okay and then we got a podcast this weekend so it'll be good exciting content maybe maybe another voice maybe some guests i know it's been us for the last weeks maybe maybe some more people we'll bring in some people maybe there'll be people um
