Hello guys, welcome back to another episode. I'm Taylor and I'm Sam and yeah, happy Friday. We haven't talked in a minute Yeah, it definitely feels like it's been a while and we got lots of catching up to do Yes, lots of catching up to do all the tea. Well, not really not really like tea. It was all good things We were in LA and we pre-recorded our last episode. So we technically haven't spoken for a week and
And I miss you guys. I miss talking. But we had the best time. Literally the best time. We know that you guys, well, obviously you guys know we're going to be talking about LA. But if you need a visual from what we have been doing, we vlogged pretty much everything we did while we were in LA. But obviously there are things that we want to talk about and, you know,
We were excited about that we want to talk about. So if you want to watch the vlogs, watch them. Do you have visual reference? But obviously we're going to talk about it right now. Yeah. My vlog also has barely any context. It's just like random clip after random clip. And I feel like watching it, you might be like, what? Like, where are you? Who is that? Like, yeah, thanks. So maybe this will make it make a little bit more sense. The podcast listeners get the real, the real deep dive. Yeah. I just listened. So Taylor was going to buy a laptop or something, but I
We had a maintenance guy come in because Taylor's little shelf is broken. But I was sitting on the couch watching a YouTube video. And it was Bradley's YouTube video. I watched it too. From this week. It's like 30 minutes long. Jacob, shout out to Jacob. I know you don't listen to these podcasts. But Jacob, you're freaking amazing. If I could hire you, I would. But I cannot afford that. It was so dope. It was so good. I was literally, I went from like nearly crying because I was so emotional of like how good it was.
And like the family aspect, like all that to dying laughing to having FOMO because I miss everyone. Like the emotions were running through that entire video. It was so good. Yeah, it was very good. Very well put together. It was. So that's another place you can see like other shit that we did. There's so many different viewpoints of it. I feel like everyone vlogged everything. You could find the trip from like 20 different angles. Yeah, no, 100%. But so basically we went to LA with Raw Gear. Raw Gear.
And we got two Airbnbs, girl's house, boy's house. And we just lived it up for a full week. We did. And I am very happy we stayed in the Airbnb. Because at the beginning, Taylor and I were not going to stay in the Airbnb. I'm not going to lie, guys. Like, mental health has been absolutely terrocious. Like, my anxiety, my social anxiety has been so bad. Like, with strangers, people I don't know, I just cannot be around people or else...
It gets bad, but I'm very happy we pulled the trigger and we just went and stayed in the girls' Airbnb because...
The girls were so welcoming. Everyone was amazing. We all became besties within like one night. Yeah. It was so worth it. I'm so happy we did it. No, it was so much fun. The house was adorable. We literally stayed up until like 1 a.m. talking, crying, just getting like, you know, those deep like friendship conversations. Stayed up so late and just had literally the best time. Literally. If you saw the like vlogs, there's a couch in the living room and it's shaped like an L.
And we were all just sitting in it. Some of us were cuddled up in blankets. And I kid you not, I have never been so open to strangers in my entire life. We all just were talking about little issues and mental health stuff that we've had going on. And oh my God. Stuff I wouldn't even tell Taylor just alone. I was like, oh my God, you know what? Right now is the opportunity. I'm going to say it. I'm going to do it. And I talked about it. And everyone was just so...
I don't even know. Like, so supportive. And so welcoming of us because we've just... I mean, you guys have been along for the ride. You guys keep up on social media. Like, there's just been a lot of, like, back and forth and, like, stupid stuff on the internet. And to have a bunch of people actually, like, validate that, like, what you're doing is good and that, you know...
You're good people and we should be so proud of what we're doing and all that kind of stuff. It was just nice to hear. Yeah, because it's very hard sometimes to see the good in what we're doing when there's so not so many, but there are negative comments coming at you of like people that you thought,
We're also supposed to be like a positive light in an industry and it makes you reconsider what you're actually doing and what you're trying, the content and what you're trying to provide thousands of people. But when we sat down on that couch and we were just talking with everyone, it really reassured us that like what we're doing brings so much value. And I just want to continue to do that. And I just want to go from this trip.
To now just like constantly week by week, like bring even more to the table. Yeah. It's a level up every single week. And that was really like what we needed to like kickstart the year. I love that it was in January just to like set the year off on a good note. Yeah. But after like we, you know, we were all like deep in stuff. We were also just like messing around the entire time. Like it was so much fun.
we like they were cooking family breakfast like in the morning i come out and like i was making eggs and like i was like what is going on this most adorable thing i've ever seen in my life i know guys obviously too if you do not follow all the girls that were on that trip with us staying in the house please get on that because they are all amazing like julia and rachel that morning were the ones cooking the breakfast and we keep in mind this is our second morning i think right yeah and i was like we barely even know them and i'm like oh
You're making me breakfast. Like, this is so sweet. But I had to pass it up because I love my oatmeal. I can never pass up oatmeal. Yeah, definitely. Like everyone on this trip, girls and guys, it was the first time like, mind you, there's like over 50 of us. Okay. Like the guy, it was a few girls. Wasn't that many. But the guy's Airbnb was huge and overflowing. Yeah.
And I've never been with like over 50 people and you're like, well, everyone here is literally so dope and cool and I can get along with all of you. Yeah. No, seriously. Over 50 people. Like when does that happen? It's amazing too because everyone is so different. Everyone comes from such different places in life, like where they grew up, like the type of people they were raised by. Like it literally was all so different and it's just like so cool to see how everyone's able to do what they do, like how we do it, you know, like.
inspire people but from different like perspectives if that makes sense like right I don't know obviously I'm not going to talk about other people's like personal life and stuff like that but it's just like so cool to see like all the different um lives so yeah it was it was good to be in that like social environment and just having a good time and feeling welcome so we were just hanging out and then we did so many team activities that were like activities that at first we were like
Like, do we want to go drive all the way to a bowling alley? Like, do we want to go drive all the way to a trampoline park? Like, in the moment, we're, like, running late. We're, like, ugh, like...
Let's keep in mind, everything we did was around 45 minutes to an hour. Everything was far. We had no cars. It was like kind of a struggle getting there, getting everyone ready. So in the moment it was like, oh my God, do we want to go? Like, why can't we just like chill here and like nothing? They were the funnest times. I'm so happy we did not miss out on a single activity. I could have done without paintball. I'm not, I'm not going to like try to like brag or anything, but like I was the only girl that really, really wanted to go at the time to paintball, to paintball. Yeah. We shouldn't have gone.
No, but like I'm happy in a way that we did. We were starving, keep in mind. But like I'm happy we went because think about it. I'm never going to go paintballing ever again in my life. I would have lived happily like that. I was very much like I knew we shouldn't have come to fucking paintball. I want to go home so bad. It was so far. I was so hungry. I think it was just because we also didn't start. Like we got there at one o'clock when like they said, they were like, be there at one. We're starting at one. We didn't start till three. Yeah. Yeah.
And we played half, like, we got out at the right beginning of round one, and I said, I am never coming back in here ever again. Bye. Here's my gun. I wish we could have filmed, like, more of us personally playing paintball. Like, Brad's video is a lot of, like, the guys running around and stuff. But, guys, I don't think you understand how intimidating it is. Well, actually, you probably do.
When you are just with a bunch of meathead gym rat men. With guns. With guns. And they are probably like, at least all of them are like five inches taller than us. And we are all like, so there was two teams. We had the pink band team and then like the non-band team. Taylor and I were on the same team because Bradley looked at Taylor and was like, I want Taylor on our team. And Taylor looked at me and goes, what?
Only if Sam can come. So I'm like, okay, we're going over to Brad's team. And Brad was like, no, no, you can't do that. That's not fair. As if we're going to do anything together. Yeah, literally. But you know what's funny too? They were like, okay, then you got to take two girls. But our team already had Nikki and Maggie, but they're a little bit more... Maggie's tough and strong, and Nikki gives off tough girl vibes. They weren't even counting...
them as like girls. Yeah. Like they were like, then you guys need two girls. I'm like, we have like Maggie too. Like why? I know I'm like a little frigging baby, like girly girl. Maggie stayed till like the end of that. No. Yeah. That's what I'm saying. Like they knew Maggie would put up a fight.
yeah but they knew we were like no no but like we didn't even know what to do i didn't know the rules i just knew that i had to shoot someone and if i shot someone they were out and if someone shot me i was obviously out and i didn't want to get shot because it looked like it freaking hurt like it we had to like test shoot the guns at like the wall and oh my god the sound it was so loud i was like i'm terrified
But anyway, so when we first got huddled up for paintball, there's how many people would you say on our team? 15, 20. Yeah. No, we like maybe more 20, 25, 15 to 20. Okay. Yeah. So we had around that many people. There's only around four girls. We're all huddled up in Brad's trying to explain to us what to do. And I'm like, first of all, my helmet is too big for me. It's like falling off my head. I have no, I can't see anything. I can't hear anything because the helmet is blocking my ears and everyone's screaming. Um,
And all I just know is they had like that little horn thing that went off. Everyone dispersed. And oh my God, I was so anxious. Yeah. Cause it's like, not like have fun. It's like, okay, ready? Like I heard from the other team, like they're going left and we're doing this and ready to go. Like, like the real strategy, like they were trying to win. Cause they played like call of duty and shit. So they're like saying like these weird terms. I'm like, what is it? What is going on? Have you ever played call of duty? I'm like, no.
I know. Who asked that? I was like, are you for real right now? Have I ever played Call of Duty? I was like, does it look like I've played that? I don't know what you're talking about. And then like jokingly like, haha, like aim the gun on you. I'm like, that's literally not funny.
funny yeah no and then they also were saying like oh like if you don't want to get shot you have to run around like small so they want you to like crouch over like and make yourself look like a crab like running across the freaking like sand dunes i was like i'm not running like looking like a crab like hunched over like i'm gonna run if i'm gonna run i'm gonna look like a fucking kangaroo and i'm going like i did not even want to move it was so scary there was just you there's
Paintballs going everywhere. So we got out immediately. Yeah. Never want to go back. The trampoline park, though, the day before that, so fun. I love a trampoline park. Such a good activity. Yeah, that was fun. Low-key, guys, if you didn't know this...
um, Christy did gymnastics and I didn't know this until we were at the trampoline park when she was just spontaneously doing backflips and shit. I was like, I was like, how are you doing this? And she's like, Oh, I did gymnastics. I was like, okay, that makes sense now. Yeah. But that was such a good time. Such a good activity. Highly recommend. Um, if you need a group activity to go to a trampoline park, um,
It was so funny watching the guys do, like, the warp wall thing. Yeah. And, like, the guys doing the rock climbing. The rock climbing was hard. It was so funny. In Jacob's video, there's a part where Noelle... I'm not trying to say Noelle. Where Markel is, like, throwing something at the guy. Yeah. It was so funny. And after we fought, he threw a thing at me. He was like, bitch, that's so bad. I remember that. He's like, y'all are so disrespectful. And two seconds later, he's throwing it at us. Yeah, that was so funny. But, um...
You know, also Markel, not really sure how that situation happened, but he ended up being with us all week. He showed up at the gym, and then our manager, Steve, was just like, or no, maybe it was Maggie, and was like, you're fun. Like, you can come to all our events. So, which was because I think, I don't even know why he was there to begin with anyway, but...
after that one day at the gym he just was at all our events yeah the coolest guy like for real the coolest guy such a nice guy so down to earth he remembers everyone's name remembers everyone's name more than i could ever imagine our life i can't even remember my new phone number i barely know your name but like that was so fun he was at the guys airbnb a lot so we went over to hang out with the guys like honestly one of our last days like we
what the hell? Like, we didn't know it was this fun over here. They have, like, this three-story house, pool table. Like, it is so cool. There's so many of them. So it's like a party. Our house is, like, quiet and cute because it was just, like, 10 of us, which is still a lot of people, but not compared to this house. It was gigantic. Yeah. Like, it was literally a party. Like, we went over, and you would think someone, like, threw a party, but it was just the guys that were sleeping there because there were so many of them. Some of them didn't even have beds. Like, the first... Oh, so the first night...
They had a few of the guys sleeping in closets with blankets and like throw towels. And I think it was the second night or the third night Markel brought them mattresses from his house. Really? Yeah. So they had mattresses just on the grounds inside some of the bedrooms that Markel just brought over from his house. Interesting. Yeah. So some of them ended up getting beds. Okay. Well, that's great for them. Yeah.
And then in the midst of all this, we were also just spending every day at the gym. It was so packed in there. Yeah, no, it was really packed. It was, like, every athlete. We managed to get there early some days, but, like, literally clock struck 11, and there were so many people in there. Like, good luck doing anything. It was so hard. Like, I wanted to film at least, like, one workout while we were there, and it was one. I couldn't even do that. It was difficult. It was so hard. And I know you guys are probably thinking, too, like,
This is something I also wanted to kind of bring up that while we were in LA and now when we're back, we haven't really been posting or I guess I'm going to speak for myself because I don't know the same way, but we haven't been posting as much fitness content. And don't worry, it's not going away. I promise you. But one thing that happens with like posting swipe workouts and all that is the engagement goes down tremendously on those. Like and sometimes as like a creator, like you don't want to be posting something that's not going to get good engagement. Yeah.
And I want to enjoy like what I'm posting and I've been branching out with like makeup and wearing like clothes and stuff like that. And I want to show you guys that. So on my Instagram, I'm going to be posting like more of like my life as well, not only fitness. Right. So don't worry. They're both not going to go away, but like, or the workouts are not going to go away, but it's just like, I want to show you guys more of who I am. Not just my page. Yeah. Same thing for me as well. And that was fun to do.
Yeah. So in L.A. Don't worry about it, but you'll definitely see more Sam with makeup on. I've been having fun with it. She has been having fun with it. She's very into it. Yeah. Let's give that girl a shout out that did our makeup while we were in L.A. Oh, yes. Her at is SBBeauty underscore. She was like, I'd love to collab with you and Sam while you're in L.A. And I'm like,
okay. I was like, we're actually going to a team dinner tonight. Like it was so last minute. So I'm like, she might say no, she might be like, girl, that is way too last minute. But I'm like, we're going to something tonight. If you want to do our makeup, like we can be home by three, we could be ready by five. And she was like, okay, yeah, let's do it. Like she brought her whole setup and did our makeup, which was so like fun and different. I've only gotten my makeup done one other time. And it was so cool. I did like funky eyeliner, um,
Kind of like, what's her at on TikTok? Her thing is like Ken's Nation. I love her makeup and she does eyeliner like that. And I was like, I want to do it. I want to be her. And she did it just like, just like the girls like that I asked for. So that was super exciting. And then Sam got her makeup done too, just very like smoky eye. She's wearing a cute little dress. And then we got drunk at Bradley's house. Yeah. Did get drunk at Bradley's house. But yeah. Also another thing too, like, cause we're kind of skipping towards the weekend, but
We literally ate out for lunch and dinner every single day. Every day, baby. We did not... We planned on going to this Airbnb, buying groceries, cooking dinner, cooking lunch when we could. We only ever had breakfast. We only ever had breakfast.
in the Airbnb. Yeah. Because we didn't have a car. Like I said, Claire was the only one that had a car because Claire drove because obviously she lives out in California. I think she was like two and a half hours away, but she still had to stay at the Airbnb because like she's not going to go two and a half hours there back every day. So she stayed at the Airbnb. We had one car for the 10 girls. So we were pretty much just stuck at the gym all day until like lunch was over. And then we'd go back for like our, like our
What the fuck is the word I'm looking for? The thing that we were doing that day, the event or activity. Yeah, and dinner got skipped sometimes. Dinner was a hard one to get in there because everything is like 40 minutes away. So if you have to leave, you might have to leave at like 3 and then you just get there and then it's already like dinner time. But when you left, you didn't want dinner because it was early. We just... Dinner was a hard one. Yeah. It was a hard one to get through. And that's why people in LA...
And Instagram models are so skinny. Okay? Because... Don't eat. Food is impossible to come by. Like, if you're doing, like, influencer events all the time, you're like, dang, that girl is so skinny. Yeah, because there's no time to eat food. Like, there's literally no time to eat food. And everything is so far, like I said. So even if you're gone for an hour, you're gone for, like, three hours...
with all of the driving time and it's so brutal so dinner got skipped but there was so much like uber eatsing it was insane big huge major shout out to california chicken cafe okay we ordered this we had this three times total in this trip okay three times for lunch
We got wraps. We got them... When was the first day? Like, at the gym, we got them at the pop-up shop, and then we got them right before the airport. 20 out of 10 recommend. If you are in LA, I don't know the exact neighborhoods because I'm not familiar with directions, but that restaurant... There's a lot of locations. Yeah. Because I remember going onto the website because I had no idea where the hell we were, and there was, like, three within, like, one mile of where we were.
Would recommend. That was the star of the show. That made the whole trip, honestly. Oh, I'll 100% be going back there every single time. And what's the other place that I had? Yogi's was really good.
Oh, yeah. Raghia loves yogis. Yeah. I didn't think I was going to like it just because, like, when you look at it, it doesn't look good. It looks, like, fried and gross and nasty, but it was good. Like, the rice was, like, sticky white rice. Yeah, it was good. The chicken. The thing about chicken is my stomach hurt. My stomach kind of hurts right now. Oh, it did? No, like, my stomach hurts a great deal. Oh, I thought you meant when you had it, it made your stomach hurt. I was like, oh, shit. It hurt a little bit when I had it because I shoveled that food down because, like I said, you don't really know when the next meal is coming, so you have to eat, like,
like a starving yeah like I'm like I need to eat all this rice right now because god fucking knows if dinner is gonna be yeah I don't know if we've ever actually talked about this before but like one of the biggest things with traveling for us our biggest like fear is getting mad bloating from not eating like when we travel and we're not consistently eating every two to three hours we're
We bloat like a motherfucker, okay? I'm not even kidding. We were going out one night, and I hadn't eaten. Where were we? Paintball. We were at paintball. And then I ate, and then after that, we were literally going out. We were going out, out. And I was like, oh, God. I'm not going to be able to do this. I was bloated so bad, I had to do the little technique that Taylor taught me when you put lotion on your stomach, and then you just fucking knead the shit out of your stomach. It works. It works. It works.
But, yeah, when you're traveling, make sure you're eating every two to three hours because if you're spontaneously, like, really bloated for no reason, it's probably because you haven't been eating. Yeah, because then you also, like, can't poop. Yeah. Not to be gross. No, literally. You, like, can't. And, um... Yeah.
Yeah. We also didn't really have any fruits and veggies. So another thing we did, which is a good hack, is buying like green juices. Yeah. Like if you can't bring greens powder with you, we just forgot to pack that. Expensive hack. Yeah, it's an expensive hack, but it's so worth it. Like we went, I think I bought maybe three or four green juices while we were out there. We just went to Whole Foods, got like the little bottled ones and they cured the soul. The suja ones are really, really good. Yeah. Yeah.
um but yeah that's what we were doing in terms of food yeah ate out and then i we went to brad's like that night we went to brad's what did we even eat i ate potatoes and salad and rice and rice yeah yeah i forgot about that but yeah let's talk about brad's brad's was so fun as in
So fun is like okay. I know It's fun. Okay. It's fun to see Fitness people that you work with getting out of their element not element because like they they do do it But it's good to see them like like louder more talkative like you know, you mean like I'm like Christy I drink I'm watching like the videos and I'm like screaming I'm like Like Christy like she just talks it's so funny. She's like doesn't stop talking but also keep in mind guys. I
It's so funny because like we obviously know like all these people from social media but then when you're in person with them like height difference is different like all these things like Christy is literally five foot. Oh yeah Christy's small. She's small. So is Rachel and you know it's funny too about like especially the girls I don't know much about the boys but um the girls like we were trying to get them more open into like do YouTube show your personality more because they're very just like swipe workout yeah like picture of like my pump and like that's it but
And i'm like you guys have such great personalities and you're so funny and it's like I would have never known from your instagram Like they're the coolest people. They're so funny and so cool. And it's like I just had no No idea that these like crazy personalities It's funny because like we would be like in the car and christy would be trying to like go on her story We're like we'd be like in the background. I'm like, yeah. Yeah, let's go like she's on her story So if you see that christy's more on her story now Thank us for that
Yeah, we were having... That was another thing. We were having so much fun, but we were also giving each other such helpful business advice. Yeah, we were. Which, I mean, obviously we could share with you guys too. Yeah, of course. We are definitely going to share that with you. No gatekeeping. But so that was really fun to just be able to connect with people and help people and just be like, you know, we all want everyone to level up. Like what Claire says. Claire's always like, I want my friends to be rich, hot, and famous. Oh my God, she always does say that. Yeah. This is so funny, yeah. No, Claire is literally like...
such a sweet soul like she is out there in LA she's like her like pace of influencer is much faster than any of us because she's in LA like she has all of those opportunities out there whereas like anyone like us or Christy or Rachel like we're in Texas or freaking um where's Pittsburgh is that where she's from yeah so it's it's much slower so like
When we came out there, she was teaching us and talking to us about so much that we were honestly, one, unaware of, and two, she was just wanting to help. And I love that because that's just how it should be. So we are obviously toward the end of this, we'll recap on LA, and we will touch base on how you can be a bad bitch in the...
I guess social media industry because it doesn't always have to be fitness. It can be soap. Yeah. Yeah, so you're soap. Then at the end, the pop-up shop. There was the Raw Gear pop-up shop, which we pulled up and we were like, oh my God, there's a line of people like down the road. We were like, what the, like waiting for the doors to open. We had no idea it was going to be like that. And we're like, I hope one person knows who we are because everyone's like there for Brad. Like some people heard that the Nelk boys were going to be there. They weren't. But I was like, it's just going to be a swarm of like,
like Nelk fans and Bradley fans. Like no one's going to care about us. Like the first girl that walked in had our merch on. Hey, if it was you, I like, Hey, I like freaked out. I literally was like, and then I ran to get tables. Like someone's wearing our merch. I was so excited. Like he's so happy. And then there was more of you and you all met each other in the Facebook group and decided to come. It was the coolest thing ever. Like we literally met like
I don't know, seven of you, eight of you, like so many of you. It was the coolest thing. Yeah, it was awesome. And like it just makes me obviously want to be able to do like our own form of pop-up shop. It's just like so cool to know that there are so many of you guys from all over the
freaking world. Obviously the people that we met all were from L.A. L.A. area. But it's just so cool because like we were able to bring like some of those friendships together. Yeah. And if you're not in the Facebook group guys make sure you join that because you don't want to be like late on the game because they're already making so many group chats hanging out meeting up. Some of you guys are flying to Alpha Land.
next month, which is so cool. And getting like an Airbnb. So I love that. And you guys are also always welcome to come to Austin and get an Airbnb. Duh. Duh. Who wouldn't want to do that? So that was so fun. That was very exciting and unexpected because I'm telling you, I thought we were just going to be like Bradley fans. Yeah, they were. Because neither of us really promoted it a lot either because...
Just like other things going on on our social media, so I didn't really promote it But I guess you guys knew you knew I know I put it in the facebook group Oh, you did. Yeah, I put like all the information. I was like, yo, who's gonna be there some of them And you know, it's crazy la in the west coast is our least. Um Populated populated in terms of like followers. And so the fact that there was still a good amount of you I'm, like oh my god, if we did that on the east coast, I know what? Yeah insanity literally insane
It was a very good time. Very good people. And I can't wait to do it again. Yeah. It was cool. I'm terrified of planes though now, guys. Oh, yeah. Because our flight back was so turbulent and horrible. I was like really having a panic attack. It was terrible. So now I'm terrified of planes. So I hope we actually never go back because I don't want to get on a plane. But...
That's another. We have a lot of new friends in Texas now, though. Yes, we have a lot of new friends in Texas. I'm excited. But they're all in Dallas. And I'm like, you guys can come down to Austin. No offense to anyone listening that lives in Dallas, but I'm just not a fan of it. Everything's so far. Full offense. And there's no water. I'm not. I don't like it. There's just no water. Like, I like to be able to, like, in the summer, like. Oh, they even, like, drinking water. Like, I think they have water. No. Like, go on my paddleboard, go on a boat, like.
Go to the park. There's just not much to do there. Yeah. From our experience, guys. Keep in mind, we've only ever been there through work. We've never been there on vacation. I just, it wasn't giving me the vibes. Yeah, I know. But yeah, I hope we get to see. We have friends in Dallas and we have people that hate us. What? What?
don't talk to boys that were on reality tv okay guys on reality tv shows okay second mistake second time this is something what we're gonna put this on merch don't stop we should bro you know what there's that line what's that line i don't fucking bitch for reality shows out of touch with reality hoes oh i don't even yeah no i know what you're talking about but i'm sure so many of you
Know what i'm talking about right now because I put it on my instagram story. Yeah, and I looked up I had 5 000 clicks clicks on his name 5 000 I was like girls girls listen girls listen There's none of that. None of that. Okay, um, if you don't know what we're talking about Yeah, I guess you need to follow instagram and keep up with our stories. Yeah, because i'm not repeating it No, we're not repeating it but follow the instagram stories because then you would know we're talking about but just for you all my girls
Never, ever, ever. This is like a rule, okay? I want you to like put your hand on something like swear. Okay? Never. Put your hand on the merch. Put your hand on your merch. Right hand on the merch. Never talk to guys over on reality TV. They just think they're hot shit. Oh my god. It's like you don't even have a talent. I'm convinced all of them are going to be single for the rest of their lives. Like, oh my god, it's like...
i've had two really bad experiences in the last six months it's like over horrible over it it's crazy so that's my piece of advice to you just don't don't go that route yeah the sense of ego that comes with the netflix show is like i know it's like i don't even want to be on fucking love island anymore yeah i want to be on the circle but you guys can talk see but then it's like i wouldn't even make friends with anyone from the show
I feel like the circle's a little different, though. Let's also keep in mind, one of the guys we met was really, really nice. Yeah, but neither of us tried to date him, though. Yeah, that's fine. I wasn't trying to date him. Huh? I wasn't trying to date him. Neither of us, like, I was just trying to peck him. They're probably fine as friends. Yeah, friends, perfect. Maybe. Yeah, yeah, friends. Yeah. But never think that you're pursuing a romantic relationship. Wait, I also wonder, do you think any of the, I feel like some of these girls listen to this.
like do you think rachel listens to our podcast low-key like rachel gill yeah or ashley i don't think so i know because i was gonna say they're definitely cracking up right now listening to this i don't think so i feel like like and even if they did i feel like once you like meet someone it's like they're gonna listen to the podcast i don't know especially like this one if it's about la they were like there yeah that's facts i don't know hey rachel hey guys yes
But no, we are definitely meeting up with them soon. I'm excited. Yeah. It was so fun. It was a really, really good time. So if you guys ever get any opportunity like that, just go.
take the take the risk take the leap go on those trips with the group of people trips with these trips for us also started out of our own pocket yeah like first time we ever ever ever ever went to zoo culture we were literally just going on like a little vacation we paid the week pass we paid for the week pass at zoo culture we got a hotel nothing like literally we were just going it's like you were it's just like some family was going to freaking disneyland but we
And from there, our lives change. And we now are at a point where we are not paying for these types of trips. And it all comes with experience. It all comes with stepping out of that comfort zone and just doing the damn thing and following your passion. Yeah. And if you're not following your passion and you're not stepping out of your comfort zone, are you ever going to get to a place where you want to be and you're satisfied with? No. No. Yeah. Do we want to talk about like the whole like doing all that? Yeah.
Okay, so if you want to do stuff like that, like be sponsored by a company and go on a trip, the fitness, the swipe workouts, to doing that, that'll get you there. That'll get you to being clothing sponsored, supplement sponsored, going on these trips, which, I mean, that's great on its own. But that's pretty much the extent of what that's going to get you unless you're in a very small percentage of people. Yeah. Yeah.
Another thing too to keep in mind is there are going to be thousands of those little companies that are going to be in your DMs when you are a small creator reaching out saying that they want to bring you on as an ambassador or anything like that. If you see those types of emails or DMs and you're not too familiar with the company and it's not a very big company,
I wouldn't go for it. I wouldn't jump into something like that because one, you may be stuck in a contract that you don't want to be stuck in and another company that has been your dream company has reached out to you or you just want to be really passionate and stick with that one company. Say it's, I don't know, say it's You Can Beam and you're obsessed with You Can Beam. Use that product like crazy. Tag that product like crazy. Show you're passionate about that product.
And maybe one day that company will see it. You don't want to just go with a company just because they reached out to you. Right. And you can take the free stuff, but be careful about like what you sign. And don't feel also like in my opinion, it's more so like don't feel the need to take everything. Yes. Like if you're going to pick one and it's like smaller because like you're smaller and you're getting free stuff and they pay you like $100 to do an in-feed post. Like that's chill. But like.
If you're going to sign with, like, if you're going to get every single thing that is ever offered to you and post about it, that's not really going to, like, help you. It's not going to benefit you. Yeah, no. So, I guess, what, like, what number, like, what did we say? Like, I don't even know. Because numbers are so irrelevant. It's more or less on your page. If you bring value to your page, you bring content to your page, a...
Social media manager for a company will say like raw gear like he will see those things those qualities that you have And he'll reach out to you or maybe like if you reach out to him and like he'll obviously look at your socials and he'll see How much you actually like the company how much you're using the company the value you bring to your followers and all of that And that will help you but if you're just reaching out to a company just because you want to reach out to a company and you barely use their product or you
I don't even know. But if that company were to look at your stuff, it's very unlikely that they would want to do anything with you. Yeah, and it's a sticky situation. I mean, like, you can reach out if you want. Like, okay, one thing, if it's, like, a small business, don't reach out for free stuff if it's, like, a small business. Like, if someone's making, like, don't be doing that. Like, be a customer. But, like, for a big, big brand, I mean, you could, like, try to reach out. But I feel like mostly they'll reach out to you.
If they, like, really want you or at least, like, interact with their stuff, like, follow them on Instagram. Like, don't, like, not follow the company on Instagram and, like, reach out. Yeah. Like, anytime I reach out to a company, I, like, follow them. Same thing goes towards us, too. I cannot stand when, like, someone comes into my DMs saying that they love my page. Like, this could be, like, this happened with Ghost, okay? Ghost had one of their managers reach out to me saying, oh, my God, Sam, I love your company. I love your page. Okay.
I would love to like send you product and whatever, potentially get you like on board to work with us. I clicked on the guy's name. He didn't even follow me.
And this man is saying he loves my page, loves my content, has been like looking at my stuff for a while. I'm like, don't even follow me. So that's another thing to be looking out for because they honestly, if someone's reaching out to you and they don't even follow you and they don't, and they're saying they like your content, they're just reaching out to you because they need more revenue coming into their company and they really just probably don't care. Right. Yeah. And you want to be considered a actual like family member of the company. You don't want to just be considered a number. Right. And, um, I lost my train of thought for a second.
Once you're with like a company or like whatever, let's say they send you free stuff one time and you're like, okay, maybe it'll be paid, which I do recommend take the free stuff because I just see so much crap about like never accept anything for free.
And I've said this before, every single brand deal I've ever got has started as free product. Like I work with misfits because one time they sent me stuff. I liked it. They worked with me. Why are you going to automatically sign a contract and say you're going to post something for something you don't even know what it is? Yeah. Like a long term contract, not like a little like singular story. Like you've never even tried it before and you want to just sign contracts.
Get this product and you might hate it. Just take the free product It literally doesn't hurt you at all and then they're probably gonna do something after that But you have to be a personality to make sales and do all for the company swipe workouts Like I said will take you so far and it's not even if you try like the some people try I'm not saying it's automatically gonna bring you so much like success but
You're not going to make sales if you're just doing swipe workouts and not actually showing that you like can build a relationship with your followers. Yeah. Which will hinder, will hinder that ability to work with brands because it's like it needs to feel slightly natural and it won't feel natural if you never talk and the only time you talk you're promoting something. Yeah. And that is all...
advice we would give for somebody that is obviously by themselves, running by themselves. But if you are, you know, now in the social media industry and you are, I would say, maybe like 25K plus, I would say, and I would honestly suggest because looking back when I first started and I was around there, I wish I had a manager. I wish I jumped into that position and I jumped into reaching out to managers way sooner. Right.
Because it brings so much opportunity. It brings so many more brands that I never thought in a million years that I'd be able to work with. And they have those connections. Because keep in mind, these management companies, they're probably based out of LA. They're probably based out of another big city like New York. And they have all these connections all over the place. So maybe that dream company that you wanted to work for for a very long time...
Your manager now has a connection with that company. So if you're around like the 25K range, I would definitely recommend, you know, looking into finding a manager. It does help. It will help you. You know, it's one of those things where it wouldn't not benefit you. Like you're not losing anything out of that. Right. But I will say as far as the fitness content goes, like I said, if you were trying to do the whole athlete thing where you're like,
just with a clothing company, just with a supplement company, then it's going to be a tough move for you to do that because it's a different world. Being in the fitness industry and being just like a quote-unquote influencer is a totally different world. And if you want to do fitness full-time, I'm talking you want to do fitness full-time, you want a literal career in the gym, in training, like I would highly...
highly recommend using your social media as a tool to do real life business. Yeah. Like real life business programs, products, gyms. Like I would recommend going that route. Me personally. Yeah, no. Because that is a very valuable way to make money in the fitness industry and making money on the fitness industry, posting the same workouts and being roggier, young LA, all those brands everyone's with. That's going to die out in a matter of...
Six months to a year. Yeah. That's just the truth. That's just what it is. Is it a great side hustle? Is it cool to post your workouts? Yes, do it. I'm not saying stop doing it, but don't do it because you think you're going to get rich. Yeah. Another thing, too, that we didn't even realize, too, because I'm happy Taylor said this, is now that we're with our management, our management has never in a million years heard of creators or I guess...
in general fitness influencers, because that niche of people, fitness influencers are the only type of influencers that like push codes with companies and like do things that way through like monthly sales, whatever. So he, our manager was like, what in the hell is this? Like, why are you guys doing this? Like you guys should be doing like branded content, like left and right through YouTube, Tik TOK, like all that stuff. Not like having like full on contracts with like a clothing company or a supplement company. So yeah,
That's another thing to keep in mind is like Taylor said, if you want to do a long-term thing with a supplement company, then you don't need a manager. I'm saying you need a manager. Yeah, if you're trying to do an influencer. Yeah, if you want to be doing influencer stuff. How do we distinguish? I think there's influencer stuff and there's fitness content. Yeah. Because like...
I guess we could say athlete because like Rugger, we're called athletes. Beam, we're called athletes. Like an athlete or an influencer. And it's like I said, do it because the 10K, the 20K, the 30K people who when you post your workouts, you inspire people, do it because it's fun and you like that. Don't do it to get rich. Don't do any influencing to get rich. I cannot stand it. I think I've said it on here before. It's like my biggest pet peeve of people just posting –
how to kind of like hack the algorithm to like go viral and get views and get this much money and that much money I think you can see through that immediately like these pages that are just curated to try to like copy Pinterest and get famous it's you can see that immediately and that's going to get tiring when every piece of content you put out isn't just you and you're like curating it to like beat an algorithm you're not just posting yourself and because you like it
So don't go into anything with the expectation on the internet that you're instantly going to get so much money from these brands and quit your nine to five and be an influencer. Because one, there's nothing wrong with having a nine to five. Like there's nothing wrong with having a like normal job. Yeah. You can easily be like ace, like a,
be athlete influencer and have a job or be a college student that's what i did yeah you can have a job if you're just want to do like the athlete thing where you can get flown to la with raw gear and do that you can have a job you don't need to take a week off for the trip but you can have a job easily and it would almost you would probably be more successful having the job and just doing what you need to do to keep it a nice part-time gig than like grinding for like
and quitting jobs and setting yourself back because it's, it's a competitive hard world and not everyone is making as much money as you think. Um, if people are saying they're making crazy amounts of money, they're probably lying unless, like I said, they're in like a very small percentage of people. Um, and it's, it's difficult and it's hard and there's nothing wrong with the normal, like sustainable career. You're not like, I think everyone thinks they just want to like,
Be an influencer. It's also not easy. It's hard and it's a grind and there's no days off and there's no turning off and there's no sick days and there's no maternity leave. There's no nothing. You don't post, you don't get paid. You miss brand deals, you don't get paid. It's a full-time job. Your engagement on TikTok goes down, you get shadow banned, you don't get paid. It's not secure, really, unless you...
Bust your freaking ass like the reason if you're like sam taylor, why are you doing so many things on so many things? Why do you have a podcast a instagram for each other an instagram for the podcast tiktok for each other tiktok for the podcast a facebook group A snapchat where you're telling people to follow it's because what if one of those apps goes away in a heartbeat? What if tiktok goes away?
Okay, well, we have you guys on Instagram. What if Instagram goes away? We have you guys on Facebook. If Facebook goes away, we have you guys on Snapchat. Like, you have to make it, like, sustainable. If you put all your effort into Instagram and Instagram goes away, like, then what? Yeah, agreed. Which it's obviously a very hard topic because, like, we don't want you to just think you can, like, wake up one day and, like, the influencer life is just, like, a life that you're living. Like, it's really hard to do, to get to.
But it is possible. Like, it is possible, but you have to know where your head's going to lie with the route you're going with. You know? Right. You can't just forget about one and go for the other and not have, like, really a backup plan, if that makes sense. Right. And when I said before how, like, this might die out in, like, a year or something, if you're like, well, what if it, like, dies out for you? What I said before, we...
And immediately and what most people need to do when they start making money off the Internet or else it's going to be very short lived. You need to create you need to see that as your way to become an entrepreneur and to create kind of like this like brand that could live on even if like your Instagram engagement dies out. Like it's not just like some people that are older and don't get it are like, oh, so you're just like a tick tocker like you post videos and like that's it. I'm like, no, I'm trying to like actually brand myself so that in a few years I'm like,
kind of over the like influencer thing. Like this is like a long road to being like entrepreneurs and this is just like a stepping stone. Yeah. Never ever would I be like, oh yeah, I'm going to do this for the rest of my life at the state I'm at. I mean, if I had millions of YouTube subscribers, yeah, I could probably do it for the rest of my life.
But that's not the case because, you know, we're big, but comparatively we're small to in comparison to the people that are millions and millions. Yeah, we're small. So and I don't feel the need to be bigger. I don't need the back like the amount of attention and like back. Like, yeah, I like my people. We're good. We're just small. Yeah. Keep your circles small.
we're like yeah 130,000 people small yeah i know it's just the beginning of the year but let me tell you guys we love you we appreciate the support but this is gonna be a very big year and not if not our biggest year yet for self-growth branding and all of that so we can obviously been able to do it without you guys you're thousands of thousands people listening to this right now we appreciate you guys
yeah it it doesn't go unnoticed at all and it makes our whole entire day and we just love doing everything we can to make you guys happy and give you guys like all the content that you want because at the end of the day we want to just be like the one place you need to go for all of this and the one place you feel safe and you know empowered that's truly the goal yes and i
I'm really excited for the rest of this year. I mean, I'm really that like, like I said, the LA trip just really set the year off on a good, good note. After literally ending this past year on the worst note possible. Yeah. It was like, like a roller coaster. It was just like, okay, wow. Like the weight lifted off the shoulders when we had that conversation. We're like, oh my God, we have a good time. And like, we're actually like appreciated by people. Like it was crazy. And yeah,
I just highly recommend putting yourself out there to be in those situations because even if it went bad, then you know it would have went bad. It wouldn't have been a good time, but you never know. So just put yourself out in those situations to be vulnerable with people and open with people because if we never said anything, we would have went that whole trip in our heads and worried and probably standoffish and not wanting to open up to people, but we just said, fuck it. Yeah. So thankful for that. Yeah. Yeah.
and you guys can be in those situations like something like being on that trip in la is something you can easily do if you have a fitness account that you put time and effort into yes not saying you'll get rich off social media or that it's going to be a queer job social media but if you want to be in that group of people in an airbnb in la with raw gear or whatever company it's so possible it is so freaking possible um
That is such a realistic goal. And I like say that like wholeheartedly, like very realistic goal to do things like that, which is a great goal because it's honestly just fun. Yep. I'm hungry. I'm hungry too. Let's make dinner. Guys, it's 530. I got to go. Guys, 530. Go to boss. Dinner time. Yeah, no. Love you guys. Love you. Bye. Bye. Bye. Bye.
