In 2018 Georgia became the center of the national dialogue on voting rights after Democratic gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams narrowly lost to Republican Brian Kemp. Abram’s loss sparked criticisms of the state’s election practices, especially around voter suppression. Now with a major national election upon us, anxiety about the integrity of the United States’ electoral system is front and center. A new report from the Scholars Strategy Network outlines the threats undermining voting in the U.S., and offers concrete potential reforms.
