In this episode, we chat with Luke Knight, CEO of Central Copper Resources, a copper exploration and development company with a significant, highly prospective landholding in the Central African copper belts with 2 assets in the DRC and the other in Zambia with all three projects having significant high-grade resource potential.

Luke has over 25 years of experience in the industry managing exploration and development projects in various countries in Africa and South America. More recently as a director at AMED funds, he focused on investments in the mineral/commodity space across Africa, responsible for portfolio monitoring before taking the helm at Central Copper.

We talk about the company, the 3 projects: West Congolian project, and Kayeye project in the DRC, and their Lunga project in Zambia and raising capital in the junior mining space.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • Central Copper is a copper exploration and development company with significant high-grade resource potential in Central Africa Copper Belts.
  • The company has three projects, two in the DRC and one in Zambia, with the flagship project being the West Congolian project in the DRC.
  • The West Congolian project has an existing high-grade copper deposit with the potential for using sorting mechanisms to produce direct shipping ore, reducing capital expenditure and fast-tracking production.
  • The company's second project, Kayeye, is located adjacent to Ivanhoe's Kamoa Kukula mine in the DRC and has shown geological continuity with Kamoa Kakula, indicating potential for future discoveries.
  • Central Copper is also exploring the Lunga project in Zambia, which has shown promising soil geochem anomalies and the potential for a near-surface oxide resource.

BEST MOMENTS

"We've got quite a lot of work planned there over the next 6 to 12 months."

"We've got an existing exploitation right over our flagship deposit that was awarded in 2022."
