Dr. Watts was motivated to write this book from his deep desire to help readers "better understand and alleviate the fear of the events during the end-times." He accomplishes his task by humbly acknowledging that his eschatological interpretation of the Scriptures is "a", not "the", description of prophetic revelation. One reason for the many controversies surrounding this daunting topic is that much of the prophetic language is steeped in symbolism, the use of terms that describe earthly things/concepts from a heavenly perspective. Submitting himself under the principle of allowing the Scriptures to interpret Scripture, Dr. Watts has devoted much of his analysis toward the goal of helping readers grasp the meaning of esoteric biblical terms and analogies.
