Publisher's Summary: While serving as a foreign missionary in remote and tropical Papua, Indonesia, Diana Baird experienced action-packed fun and adventure, laughter, heartache, tears, and discouragement. She relates her collection of short stories, Mama Dai Fell Through the Floor, to memories from her personal journals kept while serving in Indonesia. These journals will challenge those who say they could never go and live in a foreign country. Baird uses true life stories from her first few years of experiencing language and culture in Papua as a personal challenge for the reader. Mama Dai Fell Through the Floor will have you crying, laughing, and reconsidering your thoughts about foreign culture and language adjustment. Find strength and encouragement to reach out to your own mission field in your corner of the world. 'Where could we ever go that we could not have the opportunity to walk with the Lord through life's events, step by step or moment by moment?' No where on earth. Author Diana Baird still considers herself a missionary, while currently living back in America. She remains active in ministry, serving as a board member of an Indonesian non-profit ministry supporting national Indonesian missionaries. Diana and her husband Ron have also founded an American non-profit organization, Beyond Cultures International, supporting foreign missions. Diana has written many stories and children's books which have been used in literacy classes to encourage reading for children and adults in Papua.

Members Reviews: Great Missionary Book Remember as a child sitting in church listening to the Missionaries tell all those fun stories about ants and snakes and having to eat weird food? Well this book is full of stories just like those. It will have you on the edge of your seat wanting to read more. This was a fun and entertaining book. This book shows, through true stories the author encountered while serving as a missionary, that the Lord is always with you. A quick read that reminds you of the Lords presence, a real treat in this scheduled filled life of ours! I read this book in one sitting and will be giving it as a gift to many friends this year. From laughs to tears! When reading the stories in this book, I was moved from laughing to crying, then laughing again, and this was consistent through the entire book! It is hard to read just one of the stories, when I did put it down, I found myself eagerly anticipating the next stories! The author's transparent honesty made me look around my own "mission field" with a new vigor.

INSPIRING AND FUNNY! I love this book! It is inspiring, amusing, and TOTALLY TRUE! You will not read about experiences like this anywhere else, because Diana and Ron were in a very remote part of the world! I hope Diana writes more books, because I am sure she has lots more stories to tell!
