Aldert Vrij explores why people lie, and how can lies be detected? He has written widely about all kinds of deception detecting tactics from body language to statement analysis and SCAN to polygraphs.
He is a professor of applied social psychology in the department of psychology at the University of Portsmouth in Portsmouth, England. His main area of expertise is utilizing nonverbal and verbal cues of deception, also called lie detection.
