Host Mat Bradley-Tschirgi discusses The Rocky Horror Picture Show: Let's Do the Time Warp Again from 2016, a TV remake of the 1975 feature The Rocky Horror Picture Show. After getting married, Brad Majors (Ryan McCartan) and Janet Weiss' (Victoria Justice) car breaks down. They hike down to a nearby castle to ask for help, but what they discover is a group of aliens in the midst of a power struggle. Complicating things further is Dr. Frank-N-Furter (Laverne Cox) building a perfect reanimated man, the titular Rocky (Staz Nair). The whole affair is narrated by the Criminologist (Tim Curry).
This remake had been in the works for over a decade. A recent boom of made for TV musicals inspired Fox to dust off this old chestnut for a remake. Unlike a lot of recent TV musicals, this one was not lived and filmed on sets. There are some nice moments, but it would have been better if it would have taken a few more chances.
