The first Muppets feature made after Jim Henson's death, The Muppet Christmas Carol is a faithful yet humorous adaptation of the classic Charles Dickens story. Paul Williams returns from The Muppet Movie to write the songs, and they're pretty heartfelt. Michael Caine gives an excellent performance as Ebenezer Scrooge. Several songs were cut from the film, but the soundtrack album has temp versions you can listen to. This is the start of the gradual defanging of the Muppets.
