Hosts Mat Bradley-Tschirgi and William Thrasher talk about the final two episodes of the BBC series The Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy from 1981. Covering the back half of the novel The Restaurant at the End of the Universe, itself a loose adaptation of the second series of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy radio play, these episodes satirize fancy restaurants, useless professions, and heavy metal concerts. Even though it's a compressed adaptation, there are moments in the final episode that prove to be moving in spite of itself.
Mat finishes up the brief first season of the Netflix animated series Castlevania. Based on the video game series from Konami involving a whip-cracking dude hunting Dracula, he feels the series ends just as the plot is getting started. The first episode on Dracula's origin was his favorite. Thrasher continues to bash Ascent to Hell, a horror movie so mediocre he can't stop thinking about it.
