George A. Romero's final entry in his zombie series in a spin-off of a planned trilogy focusing on different characters from the Diary of the Dead. The action mostly takes place on Plum Island off the coast of Delaware. Richard Fitzpatrick (Seamus Muldoon) believes zombies can be rehabilitated into society while Kenneth Welsh (Patrick O'Flynn) feels all zombies should be shot. At least Survival of the Dead has a plot and some interesting themes going on, but the returning minor National Guard characters from Diary of the Dead don't make much of an impact.
