Nintendo decided to dip its digital toes into a new genre with space flight sim with Star Fox for the SNES in 1993. Developed by Argonaut Software using a special Super FX chip on each cartridge to power its polygonal graphics, Star Fox became a hit spawning many sequels and remakes over the years for the SNES, GameCube, and beyond. Its cute animal crew talking in gibberish reminds charming to this day.
