Hosts Mat Bradley-Tschirgi, Thrasher, and Alex Miller discuss Saturday Night Live movies. After certain sketches on SNL became pop culture hits, Lorne Michaels decided to produce movies based on them.
Through fewer movies than you might think, SNL movies tried to capitalize on hit characters from the show; the 90s in particular was a heyday for this kind of thing. Other than The Blues Brothers and Wayne's World, most of these underperformed. It's harder than it looks to stretch a 5-minute sketch into a 90-minute feature!
