After the success of The Muppet Christmas Carol, Brian Henson continued the Muppets plundering the classics with Muppet Treasure Island. A kind of polar opposite of the nuanced Christmas Carol, Muppet Treasure Island goes for bombastic with Tim Curry as Long John Silver. It drags a good bit more than it should at times. Billy Connolly is very good as Billy Bones while Kevin Bishop does what he can with the bland character of Jim Hawkins.
