Hosts Mat Bradley-Tschirgi and William Thrasher discuss the live-action video game movie Mortal Kombat from 1995. As Sony Blade describes it, the plot in the movie is about "a handful of leaky people in a boat" saving the world. A group of strangers with fighting prowess are summoned to an island to compete in the Mortal Kombat tournament led by Shang Tsung. However, when they arrive they discover this is the 10th such tourney. If the humans lose to the Outworld combatants, it's game over for life as we know it. A strictly C-level cast featuring Bridgette Wilson (Billy Madison), Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa (Rising Sun) and Christopher Lambert (Highlander) makes this a fun chopsocky with a healthy dash of magic realism. Most of the characters in the game are from the original Mortal Kombat game, although Jax, Kitana, Reptile, and Shao Khan from Mortal Kombat 2 pop up here and there.
