Learning his craft as part of the Groundlings, a young Lovitz was picked to be part of the SNL cast. He later played a pivotal role in getting fellow Groundlings member Phil Hartman cast.
After being tempted by movie deals, Jon Lovitz left SNL for the silver screen. More recently, he has regretted this decision and wished he would have stayed on for a few more years. Whether he's in supporting roles (A LEAGUE OF THEIR OWN, THE WEDDING SINGER) or as a leading man (HIGH SCHOOL HIGH), Lovitz has always been a unique presence. He's also done TV, voiceover, and podcasting in recent years.
