Hosts Mat Bradley-Tschirgi and William Thrasher discuss the Hellbound: Hellraiser 2 from 1988. Kirsty Cotton (Ashley Laurence) is traumatized from a horde of cenobites murdering her father and stepmother. Sadly, the doctor in charge of her care is obsessed with the Lament Configuration puzzle box that gives the user an amazing combo of pain and pleasure. Entranced by the promise of reviving her dead father, she ventures into Hell to battle the cenobites on their home turf. Will she emerge victorious? Less intimate than the original, Hellbound: Hellraiser 2 comes across as an S&M version of the Jim Henson flick Labyrinth.
Thrasher chats about Something Weird), a video series devoted to cult films from the past. Mat talks about the Showtime pilot for I'm Dying Up Here), a comedic historical fiction TV show set in the stand-up comedy scene in Los Angeles in the 1970s. Executive produced by Jim Carrey, the show mixes comedy and drama to mixed, but promising, results.
