Hosts Mat Bradley-Tschirgi, Thrasher, and Alex Miller discuss the career of the late Fred Willard.
Fred Willard started honing his comedy chops with Vic Grecco in Greenwich Village in the late 1950s. After joining The Second City in Chicago, he founded the comedy troupe Ace Trucking Company which led to dozens of gigs on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. Aside from his hundreds of appearances on TV shows over the years ranging from Laverne & Shirley to Murphy Brown and Wizards of Waverly Place, Willard is perhaps best known for his quirky roles in the mockumentary films of Christopher Guest: Waiting for Guffman, Best in Show, A Mighty Wind, and For Your Consideration. He also had a robust voice-over career contributing is wry humor to G.I. Joe: Renegades, King of the Hill, and The Boondocks.
Fred Willard's final feature film roles were Have a Good Trip: Adventures in Psychedelics and The Bobby Roberts Project. His last recurring roles TV series regular role were Modern Family and Space Force. He will be missed.
