Hosts Mat Bradley-Tschirgi, Thrasher, and Alex Miller discuss Bates Motel. Norman Bates is dead but leaves most of his inheritance to Alex West (Bud Cort), a youth he befriended at the asylum. Can Alex and Willie (Lori Petty) make enough money to pay their first month's mortgage at the Bates Motel?

A backdoor pilot to a TV series, this awful TV movie takes a loose connection to the films and runs it into the ground. While writer and director Richard Rothstein has some chops being a writer and executive producer on The Hitchhiker TV series (HBO's first dramatic series), he's a poor match at what's attempting to be a loose anthology series married to the famous titular Bates Motel of Psycho fame. The Psycho connection here is about as loose as what we got to the famous Jason mask in the Friday the 13th syndicated TV series. Boring and cheesy in equal amounts, this snooze fest is not even worth it for someone covered in Psycho tattoos.
