What are the strengths and talents of the people you lead? If you don’t know, how can you hope to lead them well?
It might seem when you encounter a great leader that you have met a mind reader. Chances are you have met someone who is intuitive toward and compassionate about the people they lead. They have “done their homework” about the people around them. They understand the motivations, curiosities, concerns and meaning which drives them.
If you lead others, take time to utilize tools which analyze and provide a snap shot look at the hearts and mind of the people you lead. #CliftonStrengths) is a great tool for understanding your people. It is one of my favorites. #DISC) is also a great insight into the way people think and respond to various engagements. If you are not sure where you are as a leader, John Maxwell Team has created a powerful assessment tool to get a barometer of your own strengths and weaknesses.
