Simon believes everyone should be an entrepreneur because AI will eliminate many traditional jobs, leaving people with no choice but to adapt. Universal Basic Income won't provide the life people want, and humans need purpose, which entrepreneurship can offer. He also thinks everyone can be taught entrepreneurial skills, but schools deliberately don't provide these tools.
Simon prefers being an entrepreneur because it allows him to own his time, which is the most valuable thing. While traditional jobs offer mental breaks at 5 p.m., they also come with stress from bosses, management changes, and financial struggles. He argues that working for others is harder than working for oneself, and entrepreneurship should be learned as an option, even if not everyone chooses it.
Simon defines an entrepreneur as someone who owns their time. It doesn't necessarily mean being Elon Musk or making lots of money; it's about deciding what you do with your day. Success, in his view, is enjoying what you do every day, not just chasing material possessions.

Simon is excited about AI because he thinks it will free humanity from mundane jobs, but he warns that people need to be prepared with new skills. If not, AI could lead to a
Simon started his first business at 15 after being kicked out of his house. He saw a messy garden and offered to clean it up for £200 a month. The homeowner agreed, and he used the tools in their garage to start a gardening business. He soon realized he needed to expand by knocking on more doors to secure more clients.
Simon believes there's a time and place for grind and hustle, but he discovered that working harder doesn't always lead to more luck. Instead, taking calculated risks and working efficiently is key. He advises against burning out and emphasizes that successful entrepreneurs work smart, not hard.
Simon says luck is hackable, with 98% of it being within your control. He suggests three steps: taking more risks, knowing your destination, and having a purpose. If you prepare for luck and stay alive long enough, you increase your chances of getting lucky, as he did when his company was acquired by PwC.
Simon met his wife, Helen, in Hong Kong through a mutual friend. He noticed she was a talented graphic designer but undercharging for her work. He offered to be her business manager, negotiating higher fees and sharing the profits. This partnership eventually led to the founding of their successful creative agency.
After selling his company, Simon experienced depression despite having millions in the bank. He realized that purpose, not money, keeps you alive. He felt lost and didn't know what to do with his life, even though he had financial freedom. This led him to focus on finding purpose and helping others do the same.
