We all have those moments when you just feel a bit rubbish, a bit ‘meh’.
Sometimes it feels like we just can’t ‘snap out of it’ and the day ends up being a write off, if you’re anything like me you’ll end up going home and comfort eating, cause, well, you deserve it right? Today has been TOUGH!
Here are some of the best ways you can flip around your mindset, raise your ‘vibrations’ and change your state and get your day back on track! Life’s too short for ‘Meh’!
Use social media for good and follow inspirational accounts to lift you up Social media is guilty of a lot of things….including inducing serious bouts of FOMO…BUT it can be used as a force for good!
There are LOTS of accounts on Facebook and Instagram that dish out daily doses of inspiration and funnies that can help turn your day around just at the right moment! 4) SURROUND YOURSELF WITH THE RIGHT PEOPLE This is such a biggie because if you’re in a funk there are certain people who can make it worse and drag you further in. Identify those people and STEER CLEAR!
BUT there are also just certain people that pull you straight back out again. Who are they? Message them, call them, go see them.
You can even join some of the amazing communities on Facebook that are in line with your interests and get some love in there! I’ve just started my own facebook group for exactly that reason, for those moments when you need a little pick me up or some inspiration. Feel free to come join (link at the bottom) and I’ll get you out of your funk myself!! 🙂 5) MOVE – GET SOME ENDORPHINS AND HAPPY CHEMICALS FLOWING! Go to the gym, do a class, just physically move. If you can’t go anywhere look at your posture, can you change it? Energised movement changes your state of mind according to Tony Robbins, so just MOVE! 6) MEDITATE I know I know, you’re still convinced meditation is ‘woo-woo-mumbo-jumbo’ but I promise you, every single high performer meditates…but more on that another time. 😉 For now download a simple app like ‘Calm’ which has lots of free meditations and find a quiet spot for a few minutes, give it a go and see how you feel! 7) FIND A DOG Go find yourself a woofy four-legged friend and give it a stroke, it’s proven to reduce stress and increase happiness. 8) PRACTICE GRATITUDE Gratitude is honestly a goldmine of improving your mood and helping you feel happier. What are 3 things you’re grateful for? 9) MINDFULNESS Again, a lot of people think of Mindfulness as a bit ‘woo woo’ but it’s proven to get you ‘out of your head’ and back in the moment and help stop pesky worries in their tracks. It’s got numerous health benefits, proven to reduce stress, increase focus and a greater appreciation for the little things! 10) DO SOMETHING NICE FOR SOMEONE ELSE Can you remember the last time you did something nice for someone? Felt good right? Go do something now!
Awareness is the key, the minute you feel like you’re in a funk give any of the above a go and get yourself out of it and feeling a bit more you again!!
